3:37 Ok guys, so what they are NOT telling you is that after you get back to MAX cam lift watch the dial indicator and it will go backwards {lifter is on the down fall....Intake valve is closing} When you get to 0.50" on the dial indicator read that number on the degree wheel and add it to your first number then divide by 2 to get your intake center line. So basically your reading 50 thou before max lift and 50 thou after max lift.
@@TheRoadhammer379 mentioning in passing something you can do if you have other stuff.. is not the same as explaining how it needs to be done or showing the process.
Great video! Just bought an 0902 for my Jeep swap yesterday so glad to hear you refer to “stack up tolerance “ a term I deal with everyday and so many don’t understand
I use a piston stop to find t.d.c., between bearing clearance and crank dwell there's too much slop to be 100 percent accurate using a dial indicator. Bump it forward then back and split the difference will give you absolute t.d.c.
The damn annoying and distracting background music. What's the point of adding music to a video that's supposed to be informative? Is it really necessary to have that stupid music in the background?
you would think they would make a video explaining in depth how to actually degree a cam, no one understands something that was already done, the dots were already spot on, explaining the process in depth is what everybody came here for, so having a cam that's completely out of time and explaining the process step by every single step is what they want to see for example setting timing, where and how to adjust your piston stop, where is a ideal place to mount your pointer for the degree wheel, how to go about setting up your dial indicator etc, then explaining what the numbers mean and how to apply said numbers to the procedure etc, all this video showed was that the cam was already set and its ready to go
I GOT A 1990 K5 BLAZER 5.7 WITH ECU GOT ENGINE REBUILD GOT THE BLOCK BORED 30 OVER AND DID A FEW UP GRADES IM USING EX262H CAM IN IT WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD COVERTER TO USE I TOOK THE STOCK ONE OUT..AND GOT 2000 TO 2400 STALL .. IS THAT GOOD WITH THAT CAM
you should have shown them how you got your wheel on 0 tdc to start with. that will confuse newbies. you should have just let the wheel land on what ever random number, did your 50/50 math and showed you putting the wheel at zero
Lol, it's really easy by harbor freight tools... Add some numbers then divide them then voila. Your cam is perfect and you didn't even have to put it in there....... HA
Wouldn’t it make sense to how to set everything up? And literally show step by step... just spinning the motor around shouting out numbers , 50 .. 100... before after ... 🤦♂️. Really wish There was a Video showing ACTUAL step by step

This
you just described exactly what they show. what they failed to explain is how to correct a cam that is out.
@@daos3300 he did... he talks about degree buttons.

For me youre kind of just throwing out numbers and not elaborating what exactly you're doing for people.
I understood him ?...?

Really? Didn't get that at all. Please elaborate further
6:58 seconds and I am actually more confused than when I started.
Me too....
th-cam.com/video/7NO97NNPtuQ/w-d-xo.html this guy explains it way better you are welcome!!
I've seen a lot of bread twist ties instead of coat hanger. Did he use the calculator to divide 210 in half?
i know right!..
LOL😂😂
It's pretty normal, not many can do mental math.
Was it a 3/4 race or a full race cam? And was it a full moon
Thank you for mentioning that you can use tools from harbor freight only snapped on on somebody like that great video enjoyed it thank you
The damn annoying and distracting background music. What's the point of adding music to a video that's supposed to be informative? Is it really necessary to have that stupid music in the background?
Hi just watched your video my question is if you're cam is a 110 center line is that dot to dot on timing set
You need to show how you set up the wheel etc. Explain what the coat hanger does and go from there.
you would think they would make a video explaining in depth how to actually degree a cam, no one understands something that was already done, the dots were already spot on, explaining the process in depth is what everybody came here for, so having a cam that's completely out of time and explaining the process step by every single step is what they want to see for example setting timing, where and how to adjust your piston stop, where is a ideal place to mount your pointer for the degree wheel, how to go about setting up your dial indicator etc, then explaining what the numbers mean and how to apply said numbers to the procedure etc, all this video showed was that the cam was already set and its ready to go
Yea. Most cam degree videos show engines that are ok. This Didnt show anything about how to fix it if its off. Lolol.
Click bait
Crower FTW! 🇺🇸🏁🔥🦅
When degreeing a roller cam, should you use a roller lifter
So you told how to check it, but not how to change it....How do you advance the cam?
sir do you have full video how to get the center line
I GOT A 1990 K5 BLAZER 5.7 WITH ECU GOT ENGINE REBUILD GOT THE BLOCK BORED 30 OVER AND DID A FEW UP GRADES IM USING EX262H CAM IN IT WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD COVERTER TO USE I TOOK THE STOCK ONE OUT..AND GOT 2000 TO 2400 STALL .. IS THAT GOOD WITH THAT CAM
This guy knows his stuff very well. The video is not step by step as the title says
Thanks some say it's not enough and not good info .
I'm learning about timing so Thanks .

Okay, how did they get all the milled mating surfaces black -- including the cylinder bores? You aint gonna paint them. Is it anodized or something?
How far away from Kampala r u Shane? I need to perfect my skill by taking a few polish ups from an expert.
Hows Roger ?
Found my cam, gears or keyway was 8* retarded on mine, glad i decided to check even though all parts were major top brands.
Harbor freight sells a deck bridge?
course they do. they are chinas 3rd biggest outlet after walmart and home depot.
Thank you for the lesson. I must say though the background music was way too distracting and it would have been better without it.
Another "how to degree your cam"... Where the timing dots were right on AGAIN.
🤣🤣
Lmao 😂
Every time I do dot to dot then go back to check TDC the dots are at 12 o'clock!
My stepfather would call the coat hanger pointer" the fudge factor pointer"! He built bridges for a living! Great man! just sayin
Measuring the amount of degree the piston is at dwell/ sitting still and decide it in half you get TDC it don’t gotta be all that complicated.
Cool ! I still dont get it!
Hi,
I'm afraid you do not explain how to find the TDC... you just show the result. I stopped to watch at 2:35. this is useless !
Worst video on cam degreeing I ever watched. Bout as informative as Crower’s cam cards.
I didn't see this comment coming but that why I read them for the debate.
Thanks
Because it was a daunting task
Is this background music absolutely necessary!! 😕
Good video, I enjoy the background music. Keeps me focused.
Demo was good.
Music was kinda from guys who like pickles.
????????????

Yeah, don't you have to find your piston dwell and then zero out the wheel before you find the cam lobe dwell?
The background music is mentally draining. Why not have someone in the background repeat "Why" every second.
Nice video but bad music
You’re going too fast and the horrible music makes it more irritating to watch.
Lol, it's really easy by harbor freight tools... Add some numbers then divide them then voila. Your cam is perfect and you didn't even have to put it in there....... HA
i think they forgot to zero out the degree wheel

Why the stupid music!
Why do we have annoying music when we are trying to listen.
although i learned a couple things i find that this video will not help me degree my cam. Too much detail without explanation.
SO many things WRONG with this video!!!! Read more of the comments below - I'm with most of them!
Enough with the crappy background music! hard enought to listen without having to hear that too...
This by any means is "step by step" nor user friendly
This doesn't actually show anything useful. Good job.
Everything from Harbor freight? LOL that’s why I don’t buy stuff from Crower
