    I think we all appreciate what FT has done to keep the FAA out of RC. Having said that I do find it interesting that a paramotor pilot is NOT required to have remote ID while our RC planes do.

      Unlike a drone, it seems to be obvious who is controlling the paramotor.

      When grams matter, move the elevator, rudder servos, and receiver as far to the back as the wires allow. This will shorten the control wire length. (Control wires are heavy.) Move the battery pack and esc as far forward as possible and shorten the wires from the esc to the motor and from the Esc to the battery as much as possible. Now, adjust the wing position to achieve the desired CG without adding any additional nose or tail weight.

    I loved watching these videos with my dad, we’d constantly send each other clips or links to the crazy things you guys did. It was a massive bonding experience for us as we didn’t really get along during my teen years. I lost him October 4th and it’s been really hard to watch these videos knowing I can’t send them to him anymore. Thank you for bringing my father and I a good couple years of fun ❤

      😢❤ Sorry for your loss. Remember the joy it brought you and your dad and share that with another struggling dad/son/daughter. I also had a struggling, prodigal son relationship. When my son was at his lowest point in life, this hobby helped take his mind off of some of his struggles. Fortunately, he left that dark place 5 years ago, and I couldn't be more proud of him.

    The YESOUL spin bike has totally leveled up my fitness routine. Loving how I can stream my yoga sessions right on the bike’s display, blending cardio with stretching. It’s a cool method to switch up my exercise game, and I’m scoring awesome gains. Not to mention, it’s way easier on my wallet compared to other choices!

    Was on the fence about getting the YESOUL spin bike, but it totally surpassed my expectations. First ride was tough, but loving the smooth pedaling and variable resistance. Even turned part of my living room into a mini gym setup. Currently, spinning a few times weekly and feeling way stronger & healthier!

    Thanks guys for the video first because I have been thinking about getting into a fpv for a while but keep getting tired of trying to figure out how to start.
    I used to fly the old gas and nitro helicopters like Shluter champion and I was nitro boat racing but has been a while.
    I am in a power wheelchair and that makes it really hard to fly because of limited movement so I have to always have the aircraft in front because I can't turn to look so that was the main reason to fly helicopters.
    So leads me to the thanks again I will be trying to order some equipment from you guys soon so I can get back into the hobby again.
    Keep up the great work guys

    Ultralight aircraft are fun and you can do a lot of creative stuff. But they often look very ugly.
    You can make a DeHavilland Mosquito in the same composite monocoque design as the original with just feathers, sowing thread and glue if you use the same technique as with fiberglass and carbon fiber. It would be a fun project. Feathers are a naturally light and strong material while still having excellent flexibility. You can get them in up to Peacock length and they are very easy to work with. You can use boiled linseed oil or thin wheat flour paste as glue/resin if you want to go fully organic.

    My mini Jn-4 climbs like a demon. I had to put in lots of negative elevator trim. With minimal glue in the tail, it's still tail heavy. Good looping, but not much of anything else.

  • @kevintaylor791
    @kevintaylor791 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is adds complexity to what you've done, but, this was good, run on this... My suggestion:
    Who can build the plane with the best payload vs empty weight.
    Best ratio wins.
    5 flights, need to do a either a smash and go, loop, or roll, then and land.
    Both can shave empty weight or add payload at will between flights.
    The numbers can be quibbled over for the starting point, but I propose:
    Any air frame.
    Must use less than 6 sheets of foam board for the plane that enters the first round.
    Both have 5 channels of the same electronics available, that may be omitted or deleted.
    All flights must use an equivalent battery.

  • @dragonkube
    @dragonkube ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is 250 limit need to be achieved with the battery?

    • @Voyajer.
      @Voyajer. ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, 250 includes battery. Though you don't have to weigh fuel in gas powered RC planes, since the rules are made up and don't make sense.

  • @matt7164
    @matt7164 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’d like to see another try, but use your laser to skeletonized the air frame. Then peel the paper off both sides of the foam and cover with packing tape or monocoat

  • @blahblahblahblech
    @blahblahblahblech ปีที่แล้ว +1

    do a helium filled plane to see how big you can go and stay under 250g

  • @Vaeloron
    @Vaeloron ปีที่แล้ว

    Could have left the winglets off to save more weight on the wing. It will fly better with them but it would not make a huge difference to remove them as the prop actually acts as a vertical stabilizer.

    In the interest of making your plane under 250 grams, could you 3D print new plastic servo cases and servo arms with the new lightweight PLA filament light you have used in some of your 3D models and save a few grams? If it is successful, you could offer the files in your store and maybe printed servo cases and arms in your store for those of us without printers.

    You mentioned the goggles were about $100. My problem is i need to wear glasses. The cheaper goggles don't have anyway to focus them. Do these, or are they large enough so that i can wear my glasses at the same time as the goggles?

    • @FliteTest
      @FliteTest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly, they’ll be too tight for your glasses. But with the transporters, the screen removes which is a nice feature. Larger box goggles may be a good fit for you. Goggles are like shoes where it’s always best to try on the couple different pairs to see what works best with your face and eyes.
