great video for novice pvc pipe repair. I highly recommend putting drop cloth, newspaper, or towel down on ground for your work area. Those pvc pieces rolling around on the dirty concrete floor (with pvc particles from when you cleaned the pvc pipe ends) is a really good way of having a leak on your finished job. Also I thought the fitting on the right was a little short (the pipe looked like it was rubbing on the hot tub) - that pvc flex pipe over time will vibrate and can cause that fitting to possibly crack or leak.

Man Great Video, wish you were in Houston. I have a spa that is at that age to repair. I found out yesterday
my wood frame had dry roting due to leaks over the years. From your Video, I think my o ring on my top diverter is leaking into the tub.
    Again, Thanks for the Video.

Thanks so much for making this video. I recently bought a used Sundance 850 series. The seller stated it has a "small leak" "dripping" from the diverter valve. 🤦‍♂️ That thing blows out water like a broken fire hose 😂.

    Great videos! Thank you!
Question on a new Hot Spring Envoy with 2 smart jet control valves. The left one (pump with only high speed) when placed in 3 or 6 o'clock position as the manual recommends, makes a hissing or water sloshing sound. Goes away when turned to other than 3 or 6 o' clock position but then you get either less water or more at jets locations you don't want. Any ideas on how to quite this down?

Great video when the diverters go bad can you just replace o rings to fix problem..or do u need to put in new diverters each time. What goes wrong with diverters that they need replaced? Thanks

The reasons I replace a Diverter Valve are #1 If when you try to tighten it up the threads are stripped out....I replace it #2 if I replace the Rings and all parts inside and it still leaks...I replace it #3 If the valve it self will not turn.. I replace it If you go to one of my other videos I show a Diverter Valve it self ( the housing ) cracked... That was the first housing Ive ever seen crack.... Hope that Helps .. Thanks For Watching.

Love the vid SPA MAN but any petroleum based lube, be it vasilene or whatever is really not good for o-rings, long term. I always use a silicone based lube for them. Just FYI.

If I may ask you, of you were going to charge a customer what's the cost to repair this?

It depends on the Hot tub some are very easy to do while others take several hours/days to do because of all the foam you have to dig through. I call this type of work (Surgery on a Hot Tub)and it is the number one hardest job to do on a Hot Tub right behind finding leaks....most companies will not do this type of work EVER... Now that being said I charge $175 with parts per hour (depending on the ho tub) Some jobs take only two hours while others can take 6-10 hours. I do all the removal and rebuilding starting really early in the morning and work nonstop until its done and then I let it sit over night before I fill with water(very important part)My goal is to never get a call back for any problems or leaking. It not hard it just takes a ton of time.
This is the number ONE reason a home owner gets rid of there Hot Tub....The diverter valve. The manufactures warranty will not cover it after so many years and homeowner will not pay to fix it but will pay to have it hauled away. (Crazy) Hope this Helped Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

If you have problems getting the diverter cover just below the handle: 1st remove the handle then using a wet rag and a lag
