- Welcome to my channel! I have a passion for all things motorsports, tracking, offroading, etc.
This video I finally do the oil change @ 1200 miles. It is so easy, I am glad ford did it right.

From what I’ve heard, the filter from the factory is the old model with the plastic trim rings. The new ones do not have the plastic rings. There is a good video out there with a guy that bought every filter for the 3.0 Bronco Raptor. Shows that there are only a handful of real manufacturers and they are just rebranded.
There is also a prime sequence you can do to avoid a dry first start. Hold brake and gas down while pressing start button for 10 seconds to crank the engine without ignition.
I bought a replacement drain plug to go in on my 2nd change. Has a magnet and a quick release valve that a hose can be attached to, to make draining cleaner.
That's really good to know I was alittle concerned. thanks man
Any link to the replacement
crazy that a $65K truck for off road use, has a plastic oil pan and plastic oil drain plug and plastic trans pan, gotta love modern cars, in 5-8 years than pan is going to leak or crack leave you stranded or $$$$$ at the dealer
Changing the oil next week 2100 miles on mine switching to full synthetic too
If i pay $60 grand for a vehicle, I would expect my dealership to do this for no charge at 1200 miles.
I think most will, I bought mine 8 hours away
Next time you should really hold the brake and gas at the same time to prime the system at least once, if not twice, before fully starting the engine. Just a pro tip for you.
Nice video, but I believe there's a priming sequence that you need to go through upon startup after an oil change
Really? I didn't read that in the owners manual. Can you share more info!
@@DavidFigsyes, plz share… I bet he’s bsing
@billygames7107 I know priming is a thing, I just didn't know it was required/don't think it's required with modern cars
Howdy, can you confirm the oil filter part number? I’m gonna do my first oil change at 1k. From what I can tell it’s the same part number as my Bronco 2.7 filter.

hello I am from France and I also own a ranger raptor. how much does the intake kit and the intercooler cost and if shipping to France is possible? THANKS
I have no idea. Not sure what companies make intake + intercooler for the trucks
How would u change the spark plugs with that mess of an engine?
The truck looks good but the engine 🙈
David, are you still enjoying the RR instead of the f150 raptor? Does it still feel like a bigger truck or noticable smaller like a normal midsize? Thanks👍
Oh yah I love this thing. I have little ones so I don't miss the size.
How much was the total cost compared to the dealer or shop ?
That's a great question! Let me look and I'll report back. I bought 9 quarts (only needs 7 but always want to have extra just in case) and filter and it was ~$100
why the hell did they do the plastic oil pan on this?
so the car only lasts 5 years
Don't you loose warranty if you change filter&oil by yourself?
Absolutely not
That would be insane. lol
@DavidFigs I asked because here in Argentina, if you don't get all the services in the dealer. You loose all the warranties.
@MinLee-mu1mg whoa! I didn't know that.
Does Ford tell you to change the oil after 1200 miles ?
Owners manual doesn't state when to change. Says engine break in is 1k miles
How often will you do an oil change with the full synthetic oil in it?
@mikefries6637 great question, I will probably do another @ 4-5k then every 4-5k miles after that. Very cheap and easy maintenance thing to do.
Is the oil filter in the engine bay a common thing with new cars these days?
@gannas138 this is the first ford performance product I've owned that has the oil filter in the engine bay
bro.....just sell it now. NEVER use aftermarket on vital components like oil filters. good luck.
wut?
What?
Tf are you talking about? Aftermarket? This is an oil change. As long as it’s synthetic oil and the oil filter fits and doesn’t leak it’s totally fine. Sounds like someone taught you wrong.
He didn’t use aftermarket lol. Ford changed the filter design.
