Its a modern Ford, and an Ecoboost one at that. Unless you are really old or ill, I doubt that.

@@sunnyvalentino I'm still 24 years old. And it's not an ecoboost because, here in my country, they don't have v6 Raptor, just a 2.0 bi turbo 4cyl.

you'll love the ford performance tune once you get it installed. I have it on my 2.7l bronco and it woke up right up. Shift points are better too and very smooth. Also, the tune did the same thing as the auto-stop start eliminator kit you bought where you can toggle it on and off. That was something I didn't know until after the dealership installed it. Oh - and if you go up to 34s you can use the tuner to re-calibrate the tire size so your speedo is correct
How do you toggle the tune? Thinking about getting it for my RR. I wonder if the extended warranty would still be valid with the tune installed since it sounds like the normal warranty is shortened
@@ttimefifty1 once you have the tube installed it’s on there fully. You don’t have to do anything further. Atleast for my bronco, there was no change in vehicle warranty with the ford performance tune so long as a dealership installs it
How can I get the tune? Do I just go to the dealer?
@@jessieh.8443 yes, I ordered mine through my dealership and they charged me 1 hour of labor to install it
@@2011buddylee that’s exactly how my bronco feels. It feels like stock if you are just being gentle on the throttle. It feels much faster and even gives higher boost when you punch the throttle. Even moderate throttle you can feel the turbos spool up faster. It doesn’t affect the daily driving ability, doesn’t shift hard or rough. I’d say it shifts even smoother. Oh, and I got slightly better MPG out of it. 16.5 not tuned and currently sitting around 17.1-17.2 with the tune.
For me, it’s a no brainer to get the tune. It elevates the driving experience without any compromises. I’ve had it turned for 9 months now, no issues.

My bronze Apex SM-10RS wheels on the BRZ have the same ridges and they really help, though I setup these 17" specifically for foul weather use with Michelin CrossClimate 2s. This makes roadtrips in late fall a no brainer.
Here I was thinking I could focus on my M3 project but no Topher drops a video and now I am looking at those wheels for my RR lol
My tune arrived earlier this week and my local dealer installed it today. I only drove it from the dealer home but I could definitely tell a difference! I as I mentioned earlier haven’t really got to give it a true test but from just the little drive I do believe it’s going to be a definite smile factor!

@@TheTopherI took around 8 and left it with them. I called around 2 and they said it was ready. This also included oil change and tire rotation even though I only had around 500 miles on it. Just thought I would go on the side of caution with the oil change.

Mine has a build date of the week of Sept 30th. I can't friggn wait! I chose shelter green with the standard wheels because I can save the $1500 that the beadlock capable wheels cost and get a set of method racing rims or something nice. Plus, I'm never going to put beadlocks on anyway, and they don't look as nice as the standards in my opinion.
@2011buddylee well yes, it's a matter of personal choice, that goes without saying :) I went with no graphics package as well. The last 4 cars I've had was white and this being my first "enthusiast" vehicle the last thing I wanted to don't a special truck was make it the most common color on the road. My A5 was glacier white metallic and I loved it but I'm over white. Have fun with your truck! I'm counting the days, I'll tell you that for sure :)

I have a 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor37 & there are days where I think this midsize Ranger would be a better daily.
Some folks appear to be getting 16mpg, while I’m averaging just over 12mpg; not the end-all be-all, but compound that with parking, & no longer towing a trailer. I probably should have waited & saved some coin by going midsize.

I have a '23 F150 Raptor and I am looking at a RR this weekend. I kind of wish i had waited to until the RR came out. Not sure if i will pull the trigger but the price point is almost to much to turn down.
The R button on my 23 F-150 Raptor also randomly decides that it doesn't want to work anymore 😂
Mine does that when temps go North of 90; parked in direct sun. I can reset my defaults quickly, so not a big deal, but annoying.

Dont want to complain, but mine has been in the shop since the end of July with a failed instrument cluster. I miss my Raptor! These videos help me cope

Glad to hear you are enjoying the RR. I am going this weekend to look at one being sold at a local dealership wit no markup. The caveat is that i would be potential trading in my '23 F150 Raptor. I know, I know...why the heck would I even contemplate that. Long story short...what was affordable almost 2 years ago is getting even more difficult today because of just life changes. If I can save $200-300 on monthly payment and still have the capability and fun the Raptor line provides, why not look into it. I am curious if anyone here has made a transition from a F150 Raptor t5o the RR and how that transition has been. This will certainly be a difficult decision to make for sure. Thanks all!

There was no point in installing the S/S eliminator if you were going to install the FP tune. The tune does the same job - it remembers the last state of the S/S switch.
Just learned that, good to know - I'll sell the stop/start eliminator once I get it tuned.
Where did you find 91? Isn't it 93 pretty much everywhere besides the rare sunoco that sells 100.

Does that Tonneau cover decrease the available bed height dimension inside the bed. I want to put a fridge inside my truck bed and the height is very close to the max already.
Do you have any interior rattles? Mine has a slight rattle around the passenger side sun visor, but it sounds more like it's in the headliner. The plastic around the rear view mirror is loose, but that's not where the sound is coming from. Also the plastic trim on the passenger side along the rear window doesn't seem to fit as tight as the driver side. I may be heading to Silver Lake in the middle of next week if you want to join, not sure which day yet.
I have a rare rattle on the front driver's side dash somewhere but otherwise everything feels pretty tight. We'll see how it is this winter when we get colder temperatures. Have fun at Silver Lake!

Have you tried to change the code on the securicode? Got the code from the dealer, but can't seem to change it like I could on the F-150. Screen won't take it or
doing the button reset code won't work. R button did not work for a couple days, but has been just fine after that. No other problems so far. Great video. Thanks.

Will the tune affect your warranty at all?
Ford Performance provides a 3yr/36k mile warranty with the tune, otherwise everything not affected by the tune is still covered by a 5yr/60k mile powertrain warranty. There's definitely some gray area on being able to prove whether the tune did or did not break something (if something breaks) after that 3/36k warranty is up.
Going to the dealer for an oil change wish I had that kind of money. I also don't have a car that's new enough for dealership maintenance, my 2008 Prius would could about $90 every 5k miles but I plan to do them myself so then can cost less than $30. I put 9k on last year, but this year I'm commuting to college so I expect a lot more.
Hey topher do you think they will fix some of the issues you mentioned in the 2025 model? Do car manufacturers typically try to fix issues like these with the next model year?

I’m looking for a new vehicle that will give a comfortable ride over the many rough and pothole roads I have to commute on and seems like this ranger raptor from your Michigan driving really soaks up bumps. Since you’ve driven so many vehicles, I’m curious What would be a list of some of the best vehicles (truck or suv wise) under $60k that have great comfort for this scenario. Would trucks like this or a ZR2 be better than family oriented SUVs like Highlander or the Pilot.
Tbh, a unibody SUV is probably going to ride better than a truck over most regular pavement. It’s the really rough spots, big bumps/undulations where the raptor shines. The ZR2 is pretty stiff, the bison is a little softer. Highlander, honda passport/pilot, GX 460 (non air suspension) all ride great. Ranger Raptor rides really well for the segment, a little stiffer than other Raptor products, but still very comfy.

Can someone explain to me what the point of these mid-size trucks is? Towing capacity is less than a BMW X5, so why even bother? You can’t even tow and car and trailer with this
I mean it maneuvers better than a full size truck which is not that big of a reason, and not everyone needs to tow cars and trailers they probably carry like some midsized furniture , house appliances and things of that nature.
just like any other reason why people buy trucks... social status

@@EyeDoctorJoeright, pretty sure the majority of trucks, even larger ones in America are rarely used for hauling or towing things if I recall from a survey.
I’d argue full size trucks have more space and capability than what most people need. Midsize segment gets it about right. In the case of the Ranger Raptor, I use it as a fun vehicle to enjoy on/off road but it’s also hugely practical. I can put the kids in the back, mountain bikes and stuff in the bed, occasionally tow small trailers/sxs, and jump it off railroad tracks.
I do not see the appeal of this truck
