It is definitely is a good example to watch and see, great to see what good parenting looks like. Good reminder to take a deep breadth and not be so reactive with my littles.
Love Keith’s perspective after the sail situation. Instead of being angry, he viewed it as a learning experience for the kids. Good stuff. I love how the whole family interacts with each other, not a lot of fighting or animosity. Quality people.

Love the life lesson that Keith spoke about. When I was in my very early 20’s my father let me take his sailboat to Catalina with my friends the first time. I was flying our spinnaker downwind and flying home. The wind picked up and I didn’t take it down. It split down the middle. When back home, I informed my father what happened and he said no worries take it to the sail shop and get it repaired. A week later it was fixed and the store advised me it was $500. I went to my father and informed him of the price and his remark was, “and?” I got it instantly that I had to pay for the sail. Lesson learned. 😂 Love your videos. When the kiddos leave and you need a an extra deckhand, give me a call.

Keith: good strategy about kids learning to be more decisive!(surpprised you have instilled more opportunity for them to learn as theyn grew up...) be Well!
I don’t understand this style of parenting at all. These kids now some are young adults must believe money grows on trees and mistakes have zero consequences. As long as Keith and Renee just keep the bank open these kids have zero reason to behave responsibly. They know both mommy and daddy will be there to clean up whatever mess they may find themselves in. I bet they went right back to playing video games while mommy cooked them dinner. We now have an entire generation of young adults like this. They contribute nothing to society as a whole. By that I mean if they disappeared it wouldn’t matter because society would continue business as normal. Nothing they do matters because nothing they do is of any importance to society. Even if they worked as a gas station attendant they would be contributing to society because that gas station attendant is needed and has value to society despite how little the pay may be. Pretty soon we won’t have gas station attendants because this generation is lazy and instead wants to make a living riding around in vans and being hippies. At some point these people are going to have to work or I’m afraid our society is going to collapse. No gas station attendants, no grocery store workers, no nurses, no doctors, no truck drivers, no plumbers, no teachers, no electricians, no roofers, no factory workers, no farmers. Let’s just all drive around in vans and sail around the world and make videos while going whale watching.

Keith has some remarkable patience. My father would have had me pay out of my pocket for a portion of the sail only because he could not fire me or he would have made me clean the boat with a toothbrush from stem to stern. He would tell me that you don't learn from mistakes if there are no consequences. I remember cooking steaks on the barbecue one summer. I got distracted and they burned. He made me go and spend my allowance on take out for the family so I would learn to take my assignments seriously. Then he had me eat one of the burnt steaks to hammer the point home. I have never burnt another steak. Another great video Renee.
---Do you know what the mistake was? --As a child, I preferred my hot dogs barbecued burned. I learned to cook in the Boy Scouts. Early on, I may have eaten one meal raw, but never burned.

Bermuda Triangle?
Very nice presentation and explanation of the instruments!
Cabrinha Giveaway. 11m please.

Cabrinha Giveaway 14M!!!
My son would love one!!!! Love your videos!!!! Happy sailing.
Keith
I hope and PRAY this video isn't creatively edited and your blow-up cut. Because I CANNOT BELIEVE how amazingly well you handled that catastrophe! I'm not 100% sure exactly how long ago that was. But what I am 100% sure of is that my dad WOULD STILL BE YELLING AT ME! AND I could hear him all the way from Florida to Montana! LOL!! (But for real!) I just want to say that I think you handled it so amazingly well! Good job! You two truly are amazing parents, and it shows in your children every week!! Thank you for continuing to share your lives with us!!
Big hugs to each of you!
Bummer on the sail ripping. A good way to describe TWS & AWS is, the AWS slower because the drag of the boat through the water.
--It's the course of the boat that matters. Upwind, AWS is greater than TWS.
--Simple high school geometry.
