    Great work!
    Ive been watching a lot of picnic table builds on TH-cam, yours is the best. I like your attention to detail with routered and chamfered edges.
    Thanks for the video.

    This is a well-made video. Everything is explained nicely. 👍👍👍👍👍
    At what distance do you put the bench cross brace from the table?
    Thank You for the cut list. You are the only one that I have seen do this. Once again Thank You !!!
    Keep up the great job that you do so well.

    I do not plan to nail any supports for the top. Would 3” screws be too long?… can I get away with 2-1/2 “ screws all around? Love your work !

    How much does that table cost to buy (12/22/2024) ? Is there concern about using treated wood for an eating surface? Is there concern for the durability of the table if you do not use treated wood?

    Question. What makes it custom. It looks just locally made. Nice work. #2 why are the ends not a usable seat at the table adding 4 more seats. Doesn't make sense to cut off 2ft. Of usable boards just to make a table have 4 less available seats. And I'm sorry but without a center stiffener at the bench height to restrict end to end movement. Those bolts will not hold that table together. Most table take most human contact at the long ends where there is no bench seat.

    The cut list you have, is it for one table and the material as well or is it for two tables

      Thanks! So to kind of answer your question: When I install the bench support pieces I use 10.5 inch spacer blocks between the table top ties and the bench supports. Then when flipped over, this gives me a bench seat height of about 17.25 inches.

      Good idea with the spacer block.

    Nice table! How far from the edge of the table is your table top ties?

    • @seanalexander5545
      @seanalexander5545 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The end ties are 6” from the ends of the table. But it’s not an exact science. I’d say anything from 5-8” would be fine.

    • @seanalexander5545
      @seanalexander5545 ปีที่แล้ว

      The material list is for just one table. It just so happened that I needed to build two when I decided to film this. Sorry, I see how it’s a little confusing.

  • @jackoconnell5524

    No spaces between the table top boards?

    • @seanalexander5545
      @seanalexander5545 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using pressure treated wood that is still wet from the treatment process, so as it dries it will naturally gap. If you were using KDAT lumber (Kiln Dried After Treatment), you would probably want to gap them about 1/4 inch.

    • @therealjohnsquad
      @therealjohnsquad ปีที่แล้ว

      Even if they are kiln dried, what is the purpose of the gap between the boards?@@seanalexander5545

    those bolts are a tad long...gonna skin a leg

    • @alexandersonsdecks
      @alexandersonsdecks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a valid concern, but here's the situation: Those bolts need to penetrate 3 inches of lumber with enough coming through to apply a washer and nut. 3 inch bolts are too short so 4 inch bolts are the shortest bolts that can be used. One could try to grind or hacksaw the excess off, but that would likely leave you with a more sharp and jagged edge than the painted factory edge of the bolt. Lastly, I haven't heard this as a complaint from any customers yet, nor have I experienced it with my own tables, but hopefully if someone did bump it with their leg, it wouldn't cause any kind of cut or scrape because the painted factory edges are relatively smooth. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

      You can get 3 and 1/2 inch but I used 3 inch and countersunk them a little worked great
