Great video. I have an old picnic table but it’s in need of repair. Have been toying with the idea of repairing it and moving it somewhere on the property where everyone can use it and build a new one. I like this design but for the use of the adhesive. Strong for sure but down the road if you want to replace something it just creates more problems. New subscriber. Thanks.
I was putting together a chop list before I get started later today, Lord's Will... at what point did the 2x6x12 get used?@@thetennesseefrugalcraftsma7383
It likely would, if four people sat on one side. The boards would hold for sure; my question is would it fatigue the screws and screw holes at each end? I’d also suggest much bigger lag bolts between the legs and the cross beams that hold the seats. Lots of pressure goes there…
One of the best "how to" videos I've seen! Thank you.
Thanks!
I’ve heard of a chamfer or a bevel, but not a snipe
Same difference ;)
The best detailed build I seen!
Thanks.
Ficou muito bom! Parabéns pelo trabalho.
Obrigado
Just built this table, with great help from the video! It was $199 for the supplies, using spruce for everything except the legs.
I hope it worked out for you!
Just built this table for $150 and sold it for $300 for a MS charity ! Thank you!
Wonderful!
Nice. I wouldn’t mind seeing some 45s cut on the seat corners and table top. I bang into stuff a lot. Lol. Thanks for the straight forward vid
Yes that would be good to do.

Thanks, the adhesive can be broken free when the wood begins to rot I am sure.
How much should I charge for labor for a table similar to this if materials are 200
That is up to you but 20-30$ per hour is reasonable unless you are a professional carpenter then it can be more.
Howdy y’all- that turned out to be a really nice picnic table. Thanks for sharing this. Take care and God bless
Thanks.
I learned a lot, thanks for sharing!
Sorry, I meant 6 2x6 table tops . My problem is should the inner bench line up with the table or be off set by some distance.
It will be offset a bit.
What size is the wood on the underside of the 2x8s in step one?
2x4s
@@thetennesseefrugalcraftsma7383 thank you

@@mack9930317 if I recall, that is for the cross members on the legs to hold the seats.
Can I use 2x6 on the table top instead? Didn’t know if it would throw off the measurements that you have.
As long as they equal the final width I noted in the video you should be fine.
#54 Thanks for sharing 💙💚
I have someone wanting me to build 2 tables similar to this any suggestions for a fair price to charge
Material plus your labor. Probably around $350-400 would be fair but it depends on material costs and what you charge per hour.
Good video, building mine w/5 2X6 table tops. Thanks for the info.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for your reply my materials are about 250 dollars for 2 tables
That is fair. Now account for your time.
thank you for ypur detail information to make picnic table.. best
Thanks. I am glad you liked it and it was helpful.
Very good explained
Thanks sir’ I will make a table
Thanks. Have fun.
Tight bond 3 or any out door wood glue actually holds better than liquid nails
Good to know
What is the wood type for the table top?
PT Southern Yellow Pine
I have heard that 8 foot tables with double 2x6 bench will sag in the middle. Does yours sag with heavy adults in middle?
I am not sure because I made this for someone else.

@@daveglennie8682 perhaps, but that is a lot of sheer strength.
How far in are the legs from the edge of the table on step 2?
Not sure. I went by degrees/angles.
Muito bom 👍
How many does it seat?
Depends. I would say 8-10
Hey man what sort of wood was it?
Just regular pine and fir with Pressure treated legs.
The budget was about 200.00
