The Denon DJ Prime 2 is a standalone DJ system that is the slimmed down version of the flagship Denon Prime 4 running on Engine software. The setup has many of the same features as its bigger brother, but also removes a few features in order to fit into a smaller footprint. The Prime 2 is aimed at those users who don't want to spend as much money, don't need four channels, and don't want to lug a heavy console around with them if they went for the Prime 4 edition.

Jogs are the same size on the 2 and the 4. The pads are smaller though

I really miss the zone out on the prime 2. That should have been included. Serato need to be implemented too.

Reggae dj’s need that echo on the mic channel bruh. Wish it had that like the Prime 4.

Is it possible to play/control samples playback through the aux, like from a mobile app or a sample device?

You make me so happy that I spent the extra money and bought the prime 4! Sounds like a much better value.

Gracias.

Great review man , one question though. it's a standalone system, can it be used connected to a laptop?

i really want to love this controller but, the music coming through the headphones are very underwhelming. Not sure if it's a setting i'm missing but, compared with the other controller i have, it really lacks bass and clarity for some reason.

Be even better if you could use serato with it like the prime 4. Do like the streaming built in wifi tho oh and the standalone use.

You forgot to mention. You cannot hear the MIC signal through the headphones. So if your into broadcasting or recording or just want to hear the MIC that someone is talking into ontop of a noisy room. Just something to be aware of.

Since I no longer do gigs anymore and am just relegated to my home studio for live stream mixing, would you recommend this unit for that situation?
