      I just got my prime 2 yesterday. I’ve been playing with this all night and spent a couple hours hating it because it’s a learning curve vs the DDJ-400. Man the quality of this thing is miles above the DDJ-400, which is a pretty decent controller by itself.
      My only complain now is effects. With the DDJ I just select effects in the pads and press away for instant echo, flanger, etc. As a newbie I use echo when dropping in a track more than I should. It was super quick on the DDJ but several steps on the Denon and I have to have it planned early. Mixing two effects seems impossible.

    Aaron, Would love to see how you set up playlist for a wedding that includes cocktail dinner and dancing, how is this set up in the software? If you have to walk away from your booth will the music automatically segue into the next song?

    • @AaronStrawn
      @AaronStrawn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a good idea. Could do a live video on that.
      Engine has a “continuous” option that will auto mix songs that you could use during cocktail and dinner.

    Great video. I have the Prime 2 and I think it’s great. But. I wish it had a sampler. I DJ reggae/dancehall so it’s essential. Also auto gain. I go through songs very quickly and auto gain stream lines my flow. Over all the Prime series is great!

    Once the unit gets Serato support I plan to buy it myself :) Then I could use it as standalone device (hobby, bars, outdoor) but also as a laptop controller (weddings where I still prefer a proper 15" screen). Prefer its size and weight (7.2kg vs 9.7kg) over the P4. Nice video!

    I have question about hot cues.
    I was trying Prime 2 today and there was one thing I couldn't figure out. Whe I use my MC3000 together with Virtual DJ I use a lot of Hot Cues. The cool thing is that each time I use any of my Hot Cues and then press CUE button music stops at the last Hot Cue I used instead of going back to "main" cue point ( the one next to PLAY button ). It's so annoying that in Prime 2 each time I am testing my Hot Cues I have to find the way to go to the one I like. For example I want to jump to one of them and prepare loop... If I just pres hot cue button It starts playing and I cant set the loop.
    I hope you understand what I mean.
    Is this possible to make Prime going back to last Hot Cue I used? I was testing only with original OS without updating.

    • @AaronStrawn
      @AaronStrawn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I'm following here. I know there is a way to get the cue points to play and not play when you touch them-Swipe down/User Profile/Cue Loops/ Paused Hot Cue Behavior/Momentary or Trigger.
      Hope that helps!

      There is definitely a learning curve and you will say goodbye for now to Serato. Engine is not as feature packed, but I use it more to organize and create playlists.
