I love how people just ASSUME I am a failure, assume we don't own real estate and businesses. It's like in their minds they envision the absolute worst they can about me as if that changed the truth about my honest thoughts. Most people you see "look" rich are just in debt to their necks. I don't need a car or gated community to "feel" superior I've lived in gated communities basically A PRISON you pay for.
Please don’t listen to these people saying you’re a failure...you’re absolutely right:salary here in Florida is awful and housing prices are high. Naples is not a place you can get a great job..I’ve lived in Florida my entire life and you’re SPOT ON with what you’re saying.
Jose thanks for this very insightful and accurate video. The rich are always evaluating people like they do their prospective business deals. The rich know who people are right away, like it or not. They judge people by the following criteria: how they look which includes: how they talk: accent, grammatical errors, volume of speech, tone of voice, cadence, emotion, etc.; how they walk, carry themselves, their conduct, and manners. Level of education, elite schools, income, intelligence level; personal style: clothing, car, house, make up, etc.; they assign a class level based on these and other criteria. This is classism as they treat all people this way. You are right. The rich spend thousands on things they never use rather than paying and treating their help well. They don't give enough to charity, sometimes.
I've been in Naples for 12 years now and originally from Miami, this guy is spot on. Unless you are in construction, real estate or nursing you will have a hard time finding a modest paying job. Just keep in mind that most of the Naples residents already lived their lives and enjoyed them elsewhere, not here in Naples.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Hi Jose, I hope you like it there! I'm in Pensacola, Fl and have lived in Naples - back in 2000 -02, moved from Miami back then. We were there 6 years ago renting and I agree with everything you say. I guess we will stay here for now.
100% , Including myself several people work in the service industry but last year was probably some of the WORST i've ever seen in Staffing problems across the whole city and people are quitting left and right, because those service jobs dont pay anywhere enough because of inflation. Not enough jobs or well paying jobs in general over here, even i have to move out eventually because theres no jobs for the field im studying
Lived in Naples for 30 years, it’s not the same anymore. Housing is out of control. I’ve moved because I can no longer afford and the rich think they own you.
The same thing is happening in Venice FL , perhaps not to the extent of Naples but all the houses being built in or near Venice are expensive and in gated, golf course communities. Just lost the small town atmosphere it once had.
Jose, I was born and raised in S. FL. I left FL when I was 26. I'm impressed with how you explain the situation in FL for people who want to move to FL and for those who want to move out of FL. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
I've traveled the globe and it's happening everywhere...Monaco, NY, California, Japan, etc. Discrimination has been around since the beginning . I'm Hispanic and I have had my share of it. I learned to deal with it and still succeed. I'm looking forward to purchasing a Waterfront home there. Good luck wherever you decide to move.
@PWRFL, So true! In the last 10 yrs., over development and increased housing prices are crazy in the Southeastern U.S. It just feels and looks oddly different...
I think the smaller cities are developing and filling up because the bigger cities are over crowded. Everybody wants to live in Florida. I came here from WV to escape the freezing winter's. Florida is beautiful and I love it here.
Thank you Rebecca, I am an old lady, widow, painter. I live in Cudjoe Key an island 20 miles to Key West, the house is for sale and I am moving to an apartment in Naples. I was for 2 days in Naples and I loved it!
Lived there 7 years...would never move back. Enjoying a much better life in the Carolinas. Heat and humidity is 9 months a year in Naples. Lot more bang for your buck here, people are much more friendly up here, and the change of seasons is fantastic.
MENE MENE TEKEL Depends what you are looking for. Family type city, I like Winston Salem. Mountains...Asheville or surrounding towns. Greenville, SC is exploding...people pouring in.
We moved to Naples 35 years ago. We thought it was beautiful (which it was!) and we ejoyed it to a point. Even that many years ago, we heard from residents that it had changed for the worse. All you say is true. The arrogance of the wealthy residents is pathetic. We were middle class, my husband working for a builder and worked as a Preschool teacher. The well to do would have preferred if all service/trade people offered their skills and serivices from 7 to 5 and left to live outside of the city until the next work day. ALL that you say about the rich residents is TRUE! Arrogant and nasty and cannot be pleased. ALSO: They have no use for kids and teenagers, voting down EVERY possible change to bring activities to Naples for youth.
lol i left nyc for this reason. it eventually was like there were TWO cities. the absolute ghetto, cramped hellish spaces and a glorious haven for the wealthy on their rooftops in brooklyn

so true. palm beach north part of the island was upper middle class. then developers made the 3 bedroom houses mini mansions. now no ocean breezes going thru palm beach island.
What have you done to stop it? The middle class should not allow the rich to crush them and render them homeless in the next several years. Tent Cities are growing. Do something while you still can or don't complain about being homeless.
At least Atlantic City, NJ and Ocean City, Maryland are one of the few beach towns that are still cheap and too low standard for developers to want to exploit. Look at the property values in those cities. Beach front property for less than 500k in AC. There's a nice suburb neighborhood in AC, Absecon, where you can have a million dollar view of the water and city from a big home for around 400k. AC being so close to Philadelphia, I wonder why more wealthy people or developers haven't took over that whole county. Sure, the county sucks and already has been exploited by the rich, but it still has a lot of potential. When I am in NJ or Philly for work, I often make a quick visit to AC if it's a warm season. It has good food, A LOT of diversity, mostly friendly people, has a decent enough beach depending on the water temperature of the day, things are pretty cheap, you can drink booze on the beach without cops making a fuss, play music on the beach without anyone fussing (beach goers there seem pretty chill often), rent a boat for cheap, gas stations pump gas for you, the county has some natural beauty surrounding the city, still has nightlife, and has some fun things to do still despite the current struggle it's going through. It's a crappy beach town, but it beats a crappy overpriced beach town full of snobs anyday.
@@Kehwanna We used to vacation during the summer in Ocean City, MD and Fenwick Island, DE in the 1980s and 1990s from Upstate New York. Is it much different now? It's not Florida, but I still had to be careful about avoiding sunburn.
@@ts214121 Ocean City, MD is actually pretty nice still. I live in Yonkers, NY and have co-workers that live up here that tell me how they have a great time vacationing in OC, MD and Virginia Beach. Everytime I went to OC, Maryland I had a good time because there's a good deal of places to eat and have a relaxing time. I just turned 30 and I still like nightlife aspects in cities, so I wouldn't say OC has a lot of that aside from the boardwalk, but it's definitely a relaxing place to vacation to if you live up north and just need a beach with comfortable close enough. I personally like OC, NJ better just because there's more to see, do, and eat there, especially since it's right next to Atlantic City's historic boardwalk, but the water temperature there is more hit or miss. In NJ even on the hottest day the water can be too unpleasant, though there are enough times where the water is very comfortable. OC, MD is less crowded than the one in NJ and the water is almost always warm. Both beach towns don't have a lot of crime from what I see and the crowds at both beaches are very nice. The only source of crime you really got to worry about are those thieving seagulls that will raid your beach picnic.

Agree. I’m a native Floridian who moved here from Hollywood FL almost 20 years ago. My biggest complaint is the lack of neighborhoods, not gated communities but real neighborhoods like in KY and VA. Everything here is the opposite. Port Royal houses don’t impress me at all, give me a 1950’s home that’s been renovated by a handyman on a street with space between houses and genuine nice people and I’m happy. It’s not possible here unless you live in the Estates which as you said, is being built on by large companies on literally every plot of empty land. It’s definitely lost that hometown, cozy feel to the greedy builders and snobby officials. Rude people don’t bother me, I whip out my Native Floridian card and wave bye to their Lambos and Teslas ;)
Thank you for your honesty🙌🏼 I am Peruvian, so I lived in Lima-Perú, Bahrein, Madrid-Spain and now in US (FL) and I also traveled around, and I must say that all the facts that you mention Sir (as discrimination and snobby people) it’s not a NAPLES thing or US thing, actually I can say than over here is not that bad as in another countries, believe me… it’s a Society thing, a “wrong human behavior thing”… that is going to depend on your personal and family values and of course being respectful with everybody doesn’t matter where you come from. :) God luck, take care and blessings to you and your family 🙌🏼
My bestie moved from Gainesville to Naples for her dream job. She is not at all rich. When I was down there visiting her I was amazed at how kind and considerate people were. The drivers were even nice. I live in Winter Haven myself. My favorite place is Siesta Key which is near Sarasota. One day I'll own a place there. P.S. when I was down there in Naples I was stealing coconuts off of people's lawns. Haha. 🤣🤣
I really appreciate your videos. Ex Florida resident here 😎 yeppers and I worked for the state of Florida in Tourism 😮 I love Florida but people have ruined it ! Building, building, building… money, money, money You are spot on Jose
Florida native and Naples resident since 1970's here... If you moved here 20 years ago (or later) you never saw the greatness that Naples once was. Maybe a hint...but the truly great Naples was already gone. Pre 1990 was best. Back in the day...it was a great place to live and raise a family. There was a sense of community. Everyone knew each other. The schools were safe. The neighborhoods were safe. It was predominantly white. I am not a racist. I am stating a fact. There was very little crime then, petty crime. We left our doors unlocked at home and our cars left unlocked while we were at the beach. We all hung out together. Rich, poor, it didn't matter. There were parties all over town, Port Royal, Olde Naples, the Moorings, Pine Ridge, Naples Park, Golden Gate, we all had a great time together. There were two lane roads, a lot of woods separating the main communities around town, much less traffic, and much fewer traffic lights. You knew the cars your friends drove. Everywhere you drove you saw hands out the car window waving at friends driving by. Fishing was great then. The water was clean. If you had a cut/wound the salt water in the Gulf would literally heal it more quickly. There were plenty of places to ride dirt bikes and go four wheeling, or horseback riding. Camping could be done very close to home rather than driving hours to find a secluded spot to camp. Naples had a warm, friendly vibe, to all who lived here, and to all who visited. Again, there was sense of community, a feeling of ownership, a pride in keeping our neighborhoods clean, nicely manicured, and well kept.. It was like we were all family. Hard to see what it has become. Diversity is NOT our strength. Look at FBI crime statistics. It's not just changing in and around Naples. It is happening everywhere.
Honestly, The rich have done more damage to this town than the poor working class who came here to work. Sounds like an amazing time. There are places in North Florida, Georgia, Alabama that are similar to what you mention now. I got a small glimpse of it, came here in 2000. Its sad. cant take time back. I understand what you mean, remember the people from up north changed Florida more than the working class.
@FHV you are right, to a degree. I did not cover every angle in my initial reply. The real issues that we face with crime and public safety are due to demographics/diversity...The new money wealth in the area definitely changed Naples for the worse in many other aspects. Naples started to take a dive right about the time that Pelican Bay was being developed...it steam-rolled out of control since then. I was fortunate enough to have lived 8 blocks from the pier in Olde Naples for 12 years of my 40 years in Naples 1995-2007. The community was peaceful, pristine, safe, and beautiful in more ways than one could ever imaging if you had never lived there. I saw the destruction of the Old Florida Charm, erased from our history, more and more each year. And it was heartbreaking... Every year quaint old wooden homes 'the charm of Olde Naples' were torn down and massive fancy homes or condos took their place. The home that I lived in was built in the 50's, sold in 2007, leveled, and an upscale condo is there today. I am so sick of the term upscale and everything that comes with that mentality, homes, restaurants, stores, etc... Back to safety...The exponential crime rate increase is due to drastic changes in demographics/diversity. After the market crashed in 2008 Naples changed worse than I could have ever imagined. 8 years of Obama put the nail in the coffin. RIP Naples.
As someone who lived here all my life, i'd like for people to stop moving down here and making it a worse place to live. Don't need tourists and their issues.
I basically agree with everything you said. The past 5 years have been difficult for my family to just live average lives. Now the past 2 years have been even MORE difficult, and I’m a server at a restaurant plus my husband is a supervisor at a brand hotel and an EMT and we’re still struggling. I don’t understand the real estate situation, it’s disgusting honestly. 1 bedroom 1 bathroom are 1300 plus all the other bills tacked on plus anything else you want and then normal groceries and what nots. It’s horrible, I was born and raised here and as I’m getting older I’m finding myself wanting to leave because it’s just stupid here nowadays because of all the reasons listed in this video. So...STOP MOVING HERE AND MAKING IT terrible FOR US LOCAL PEOPLE! Because you’re driving us out of our community and homes and our way of life down here because you want to live the island way???! No one cares you’re reason because you’ll be gone in a few years anyways while we’ll be still be here but with the higher way of living because you came down and ruined this or that for us local folk. Well done video you were polite and you were careful with most of things and ways you said everything. 👍🏼 haha while I went a little off in my comment 😋
if u MUST remain in SWFL rents in labelle can be as low as $700. quite a drive tho. look up citrus county its very affordable. Inverness, and beverly hills is also affordable. people say BH is bad but, we were there and its no less bad than Golden gate city for example. close to the villages which is fast growing town like our area you can commute. rents up there can be low, 650 to 800 range in some spots. but it will get expensive up there too, eventually if you don't own real estate you will be forced out.. its good to own something, houses in BH can be $65,000 liveable.. ignore the BS online.. remember naples park was a DUMP and how its $400,000 for an old hut
Give me a break, then either make more money, push yourself to make smarter decisions, or live more modestly and carefully. You don’t own the city, if you did, you could set your own boundaries. Go somewhere you can afford to live. My guess is you won’t like those places….
I lived in Naples 36 yrs. with 4yr.old son from Toledo, Ohio..It was snobby and rude, loved those subliminal messages so full of it here lol..Weather, beaches, beautiful..Now it's time to move either the panhandle or out of state..Just hope I can sell out before the property taxes are out of sight, because of all the new construction.. I love your videos there very informative.. Thank-You..
During George W Bush, FL actually seemed more normal to me, During Obama, and into Trump, that all changed. Bradenton felt like what some place in Texas would today as far as being more down to earth. Thats why more people looked at going to B-town I believe. Its one of the last cities to change.

We own a business here in Naples. It was started 30 years ago. We find the people here gracious and wanting to improve their properties. Your attitude and non- positive outlook about Naples and the people who live here during the season is not warranted or true.. We offer a fine unique services for them which they are willing to pay for. We are successful here because we appreciate their wealth from hard work they did in the past to achieve it. Our children and grandchildren live and thrive here. It is all about your attitude and outlook on life as to what younwill beneifit from.
This guy lying just to promote his business. Good job 👏 however, most of these people here are rude and horrible people and you are condoning to that which only tells me what kind of business you run
Teddy James its a fun place to visit but living there would be boring. Not even places to eat, the locals are some ruff people you would not want to get on their bad side... cool people but.. bot people you wanna cross. The mosquitos are far too bad, the drive to store and town far too long and ive worked there a few times doing trash outs far too much drug use.
Having attained some level of fame and success myself, and having been in the Nashville music industry, being around Wynonna Judd, Marty Stewart, Kenny Rogers, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, at Moraine Music Group, and later dating the owner of Curb, I can state that the wealthy send their children to private schools, and they shop at boutiques rather than malls, noting that the speaker in this video is confusing the middle class with those of real wealth. The truly wealthy only shun the poor if they fear their moral character might be that of a criminal, otherwise, sympathy seems to be their prevailing attitude toward the underprivileged. I grew accustomed to being around the upper social class, so hearing about this seems foreign, yet since the middle class is steeped in competition, he may be right.
The problem is ignorance!!! But between Kerrville Texas and Naples Florida the race is close. White privilege needs to shut the f up get off Facebook and fantasy land and see the real world. Who is on stamps? Who is in the corner begging for money vs who is in the low in come jobs working 3 jobs. So you are right it's a nationalist problem.
Truth! Lived in Naples for nine months…’99 - ‘00 from ATL as a 26 y/o. Had two jobs. Made good money in restaurant during high season. People made fun of my southern accent. There was no one to date…soooo many old people.
Speaking as a NY suburbian transplant to Cocoa FL, I can honestly say, I have found more successful native Floridians tend to be at least, if not more obsessed with class and social status than middle-class Newyorkers. I am lower middle class and was accepted in the NY tennis community very well.

We moved here from Colorado 7 months ago. Never seen so much fraud until we lived here. Traffic is awful, beaches have red tide, and the rich think they can do whatever they want. It’s like a different world here. There is no perfect place, but we are going back to Colorado.
FLORIDA HOOD VLOGS Thx for advice in places. Heard Georgia was nice. We have some neighbors from there. They just moved out here and hate it but have to wait 2 years to sell. We are going back to Co. The Racing Pigeon Club yes! Unfortunately and fortunately, we bought a house and were lied to about the condition. Lost money but I guess if you buy a house with unexpected problems it’s an exception. I had a CPA show me the rule. Hang in there!
Totally agree with video. I've been in Naples almost 20 years. Every year traffic is worse and worse and worse. So much new development and no new roads. They keep building and never think of how the traffic will get around.
I'm a Collier native, hell my father was born in Immokalee. My Grandmother was born in Arcadia. So yeah native of Florida, and yes it has changed over the years. I will say it's way safer than it was in the 80s. But that rudeness came from up north.
True. I have friends from the Midwest who think Floridians are rude. I explain to them that they’re confusing northerners who have settled here as Floridians. I guess they are technically Floridians...now.
I grew up here in Naples. It was a beautiful small town back in the 70's. They are ruining it daily with all the over building. We're going to be just like Miami soon. Makes me angry. Miss my small town.
Miami is BEEN better than Naples for a while now.. not sure where u get the notion naples is better. Naples has wealth? miami has MORE.. MUCH MORE. What does Naples have better than Miami??? traffic? barely/?? beaches.. you must not know their beaches are CLEAR WATER even on a clear day.
I’ve lived here for years and I have NONE of these issues with Naples or SWFL in general. Naples for sure isn’t the place to rent. It’s better to buy if you plan on moving here. But I don’t find it to be any more expensive than anywhere else with the same amenities and life style. Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course.
Buying in Naples. Interesting. you cant find anything for less than 300,000/ so with interest you are paying $580,000. the downpayment for 300,000 just about buys you a house in north florida where u wont have to deal with the traffic, and red tide and snobs LOL - thank you for respecting my opinion.
Every place has good things and bad things but Naples is definitely mostly good. You can only know that by living in multiple cities like I have. It can be expensive here for sure but there are plenty of jobs that pay enough. There is very little crime. The place is clean and beautiful. Most everyone is kind and hard workers. Traffic is not too bad, I've definitely seen worse. I've never lived in a more stress free place and I don't see me ever moving.
If you've been there 20 years, you remember when they couldn't get people to work for the wages they wanted to pay, because they couldn't afford to live, even in outlying communities. If I remember, the state sued them to force Naples to have affordable housing. Their idea of "affordable" housing was $900 for a 1 BR apartment. Nobody on minimum wage, especially back then, could afford that.
Born and raised in Naples left in 2015 at age 29. Miss it but it has changed SO much since I graduated Lely in 05. Miss my old Naples 15 years ago 💜💜💜💜 but yes one main reason I left is bc I couldn’t afford to sustain there!!!!! Sad but true!! Still, growing up around pristine beauty and wealth spoils you. I’m now in SW Butthole of the world PA and miss home so much. Ugh!
lots of gold diggers, I go into these communities and see these OLD decrepit man with middle aged women... its disgusting, and disturbing to know that people are willing to "marry" or live with someone who clearly only there for the money.

He can bitch when he lives there. So, that being said. I'm not rich, LOL. My income is honestly low, about 2100 a month. So, in reality the world considers that poor but I can live on that. What area do you think is fun, easy access to shopping (target, etc) and nice affordable apt. I don't believe in looking to heavily on the crime colored maps on Trulia.com because I live in an area that has a darker color, so I know that doesn't freak me out. Moving from Colorado to Naples. Arriving on the 30th to try this city out. If you cant afford Naples and hate development, don't move to Colorado. After 20 years here. Im ready for a change. Btw, Dont forget to budget in state and sales tax if y'all plan to move to Colorado. Traffic in all hours of the day. Literally from 6am-6PM. Constant road construction, more tolls, vehicle emission laws and a higher median income. If you're not making over 100k yearly its gonna be a very tight budget for your family. Although houses are expensive it will gain equity quickly and does not sit on the market long once you sell. I'll miss the cooler weather, dry air and the mountains. Gonna try this Florida thing for a year. Cheers!

I feel your generalizing about many of your thoughts. This might be your experiences but not the vast majority. The one thing you have right is Naples has changed over the 30 years that I’ve been here, it’s not the little town anymore. Which I miss. (But are not the Norm) and other things in many places, not exclusive to Naples. I think most of your Vlog misrepresents Naples. Things never stay the same.
Thank you for the video! We are moving to Naples next year and your 10 reasons made it even better on our decision to move. The house is not done until July of 2020 and after watching your video I really want to move to Naples sooner. I cant wait to live in paradise. See you Naples in 2020!

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS You are every on point about Naples Fl! Naples is definitely not for the poor or fresh start. In my opinion, Naples is more design for middle class and up. By no mean I am degrading the poor but what I am saying is that, it would be better off with some money when moving to Naples Fl. I came from poor family of 6 and we have been working harder than hard for the last 20 years to get where we are now. My family and I visited once and after 6 months of research Naples is our destination. I guess one man trash is another man treasure.

Michelle Batzel I don’t doubt you any bit! He is on point in some but this is why we decided to move to Naples. It’s going to be paradise and I already know it. Thanks!
I'm glad you feel this way.good for you be who you want to be.my grand kids live there no matter what that is what I will be telling be good and be yourself
Clearwater Beach had this happen 20 years ago when it was a middle class resort area. The mom and pop motels that were clean and decent places to visit were bought and replaced by high rise that sometimes uses an entire block. Daytona hasn't gotten there yet, so we still visit South Shores. The north beach area is all new exclusive resorts. I can't believe the motorcycle people still go there.
I bought a mobile home in a nice Park in Naples and love it.I have been in Naples 20 years and want to spend the rest of my life coming here every winter. It is beautiful with many terrific people who are down to earth.I think you should move out the sooner the better and find a place that you like.I for one will stay in my mobile home.Good luck to you as you seem to hate it in Naples.
As a former Naples resident this is the best video and information I have seen yet. Over development has ruined the town and same thing happening in Ft. Myers and Sarasota. SW Fl is turning into SE Fl. Even though authorities will not acknowledge I believe this is reason for water quality problems and its going to get worse. I can not imagine what Fl will look like south of I-4 10 years from now.
Have been here 35 years and I live cheap in a cute trailer park, but the scariest thing for me is the traffic has increased 100 fold since I first moved here, and I am fearing driving more and more.On average day out and around I pass at least one accident. When it rains, more accidents, many multiple vehicles. And they keep adding more and more lanes, with multiple turn lanes and people barrel through intersections at top speed. If I could afford to leave,it would be for this reason. If public transportation were closer to my park, and more people friendly,I would definitely opt for it.
Heyyy I'm from Louisville ky to. I lived in naples for 2 years and absolutely hated it. I made decent money but the people just drove me away. Most people there are from up north. Jobs are becoming slim there to. When I first moved to Florida I moved to saint Pete. Hands down best city in florida that's for sure. Never hated florida until I moved to naples and luckily about a month ago i moved away form this terrible city. Happily living in austin Texas and absolutely love it here. People are so nice it's way cheaper and jobs actually pay well.
Austin is going to shit as well,..been in Austin for 25 years..police suck, the rich kids are disrespectful, the city has become overrun with Meth heads and the housing is over priced and the Gov.,Mayor and City managey are ruining the city... I'm moving,..screw Austin.
Hey thanks for the video. 🙏🏼 Everything you mentioned was pretty much all true. I’m from Naples, lived there for 24 years and hated it. Got out and it was the best thing I ever did. I still live in Florida - Fort Lauderdale - but Naples isn’t a great place to make friends, date, find a spouse, or even be single. Very expensive without the city vibe/benefit being there. While it’s true most of Florida is like this in a lot of ways, Naples is expensive without having the benefits of living in a large city. I love Fort Lauderdale a lot better due to the different cultures, things to do, and huge population. Naples really has no central Downtown and the growth will not affect the city in a positive way. Too many elders and rich retirees will keep it expensive, slow moving, and crowded. There is essentially nothing to do past 9pm, no nightlife, snobbish people all around, and no new ideas/startups. You were especially right when you mentioned a lot of people there are rude/stuck up. Glad I moved.
I'm possibly relocating this summer to either palm beach area or fort Lauderdale! I lived in south beach 20yrs ago, but not interested in being in Miami again..
Lisagrl89 M. Highly recommend it honestly if you like the big city vibe! Not gonna lie the traffic is terrible, but I do love Fort Lauderdale/Palm beach. Ft Lauderdale is a lot busier and more crowded than Palm Beach, but I like how the city is moving and growing. Recommend palm beach if you want to get out of the super crowded city vibe and still want lots to do, but Fort Lauderdale if you want to meet young people, make friends, and stay busy!
@@krissymarie5270 Delray beach looks like the perfect place, but the tech school I'd be attending is in Ft. Lauderdale. I prefer living among people over 40.. I'm a generation X'r..lol

people are moving to naples because 1) scenic beauty 2) good services 3) upscale retirement area 4) return on investment for property purchases 3) low property taxes 4) no state income tax (like other parts of florida 5) outdoors activities 6) beaches 7) fishing, boating --- negatives 1) jobs pay less 2) real estate is expensive compared to the u.s. as a whole 4) not much to do for young adults 5) lack of four seasons...temps are usually 90 or so. even in the winter it's like summer. 6) traffic during high season is difficult 7) overall cost of living is higher here than most cities in midsize cities in the u.s. ...the area is growing quickly because rich retirees buy second houses or condos here. overall i'd give naples an A- for quality of life. the only thing i dislike really is the lack of four seasons. hot and sunny all the time. peter rinaldi, naples collier county florida
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS there are many ups and downs to naples real estate pricing. currently, prices are stable...a little up or down depending on where you are. we seem to have plateaued for the moment. during the great recession, some folks lost 40 percent in value. but if they kept their property, the values went up even higher in 2016-2018. we're due for a correction. when the next national recession hits, expect prices to drop again. my parents moved here in the 80s...prices are up so much than $500,000 condos then are worth $2 million now.if you're going to buy, prices are at peak now...i would wait awhile. renting is very expensive here condo/apartments $1400-$2000. homes, $2500 to $4000 a month and those are homes worth $200-$400k. A million dollar house will cost 8k-$10k a month or so to rent

Lived in naples for 25 years and I have to admit once I moved away I've been the happiest I ever been. I loved Naples but about 15 years ago it started getting bad. Too much growth and it just started losing its appeal. Sadly it's not just Naples. In some ways growth is a good thing but for me between the traffic ,raising crime rate Naples just lost its appeal.
I think we all got the message that Naples is not for you, but when giving reasons why, you used generalities based on your experience. If you had statistics to back your claims, it wouldn’t sound like someone who is unhappy with Naples. Also, for people that have solid and successful careers with above average earnings, want to live in a nice area and surrounded by similar successful people. Unfortunately, you will find the discrimination you mentioned anywhere you go. If you choose to dress and talk differently in your line of business, expect it to have a negative impact on your career. That is not specific to Naples. The only point you made that I can agree with, is the cost of living there compared to other cities in Florida. There are options in east Naples or perhaps communities like Ave Maria that is developed well and more affordable than Naples and still close enough to enjoy the other amenities of the Naples area. It’s what you make it.
I appreciate your conversational approach to addressing your point of view. If I had a net worth 3x larger than what i do now, there is no way i would consider moving away, if you have money.. this place is great. I am in no way criticizing the livability of this town. I don't think living in the outskirts of town is a solution for working class people, its still expensive and offers nothing immediately there. I am right in North Naples, near everything... I would not want to live way out there in ave maria and have to commute into town. But, it is an option. My point of view, is based on what i have seen over the years here.. observation is a form of research.I have lost a massive percentage of my good clients over the years.. they are not moving to california.. they are moving to the areas mentioned in the video. Thanks for your respectful approach.
I lived in ospreys landing right in the heart of naples for 1000 a month (3br) have a good security job and go to a great college and no one in my family is rich by any means. This dude is just one of those people who lived here 20 years and takes it for granted.

In my 30 years of experience living in Naples (relocated from New Canaan, CT.) I've found that the vast majority of people who complain the loudest about the lifestyle are those who really can't afford to live here. We can. Built a very nice home on 5.5 acres. What's not to like? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and Naples may not be for you. Yes, it's changed over the years. What popular destination that attracts people has not? But, on balance, you'd be very hard pressed to find a nicer, cleaner, safer place to live with the bonus of a phenomenal climate. Most newcomers who are unhappy with the lifestyle here are usually 'city' types. This is not the city...Thank God. I had to deal with NYC and metro area for many years, and I love to visit NY, but would never live there again. Yes, I wish it were less busy here, but I'd never complain about being able to live well in one of the most desirable places on Earth...
FLORIDA HOOD VLOGS Yes, very close in West of Collier Blvd. Perfect location, no traffic issues, nice neighborhood, and ultimate privacy. But only 10 minutes to beach. I was born here in 1957 left at age 5 or 6 always came for summer visits because it was family and friends! After 20yrs of not going every summer I didn't recognize the place anymore. I would never live here and this city is my birthplace
Moved out from Naples after living there for 12 years. I own properties there that I rent out and still, nothing will keep me in this town. I used to think that people are very nice in Naples, not any more. Moved to Chicago subburb and very happy. I was surprised, but people are much nicer here. No fake smiles on their faces like in Naples. No rich snobs that make all kinds of rules in the association, so its hard to live there. Went to Naples for 2 weeks last winter and could not stand the humidity anymore. Could not stand how slow the people are on roads and in stores. I noticed that the produce is not as good as in Chicago area. Less fruit and vegetables varieties and the prices are much higher. Happy that I moved. And I love the four seasons and Chicago winter.
I agree with most of your points working in the restaurant and retail industry you see a lot of snobs, but just a message to anyone wanting to move to the “south” go north of Cape Coral, south of that is really just stuff like this, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Fort Myers

I agree, salaries are very low for the expensive way of living. You will never make it in Naples like he said. They brought money from somewhere else. These people here feel so entitled in Naples! So true!
I lived in Naples for 10 years and I have seen changes it's true, however don't worry about the class , race of people , you can be who you want to be always . it's everywhere in the world! I now live in the Middle East and in our country of the UAE this is the 'Year of Tolerance " and I feel that the USA could learn so much from this concept, especially now since there is so much overt racism and gun violence everywhere , not just in Fl or Naples! There are so many people from all over the planet from all cultures and walks of life living here in the UAE ...the local Bedouins here were desert dwellers ,until they discovered oil and became wealthy...some are so down to earth while others feel that they have wealth and they feel a sense of entitlement . This mentality is everywhere...it's up to us to make changes, share information about the ecosystems , the animals, the underwater ecosystems such as the red tide.... you are correct. We all have to try to be more tolerant of others and our differences, educate the snow birds about our beautiful Naples and why things are not ok to do....keep moving forward to make changes , everyone has opinions and lifestyles . After extensive travel to Jordon, UAE, Egypt, Seychelles, Oman , Armenia , Kuwait and Thailand, I am so looking forward to returning to Naples to get the nature back in my spirit ,as I have been living in the desert for almost 3 years. I have to view and look at Naples as half full ...we make it happen and what we bring to the table is the key. Most of mankind is good...I have experienced the kindness and hospitality as an American . Thank you for your insight here and your sensitivity of the changes of Naples and the Collier County area ....and like others have said you could move and still feel like you're out in the country in the Everglades , Punta Gorda or even Estero to name a few communities. Glass half full for beautiful Naples!
I grew accustomed to being around the upper social class, so hearing about this seems foreign, yet since the middle class is steeped in competition, he may be right.
.. that's the problem now Its only the rich that can afford to be off-grid: buying land to grow crops installing solar buying property near rivers so they can install a dynamo wheel to generate electric power and so on and so forth ... real rich are landowners and well used to cultivating land and living off it. So you're really speaking about spoilt in-bet-weenies like _nouveaus_ who couldn't tie a shoelace or wipe their botties without nan-nan. 🤔
@WAR HAMMER 88 It’s actually scary think about it there’s only 2 states that have the climate and the capability of harvesting food year around and they are California and Florida. They are also the only 2 states that have the capability of growing citrus . Right now this country depends on other countries for 81% of our food . Where will we get our food from when all the farm , ranch and citrus lands are gone . Right now a company called Plenty is trying to make up for the loss of commercially raised food in Florida they’ve started up in California the problem is it cost 8.32 to produce 1 pound of vegetables so your looking at about 12 bucks per pound retail . It’s going to get crazy very soon . The scary thing of it all is what percentage of Americans know how to grow , harvest and preserve their own food ? What percentage of Americans know how to use and also own a firearm ? This country has seen some pretty bad things happening lately but wait until people run out of food lol BLM or Antifa won’t have shit on what’s going to happen then .

Your insights really fit my perceptions of Naples even 20 years ago it was already getting busy. Why bother to live at all in any of these towns, rent a room for 2 weeks or a months and move on.
Lived in Naples for 24 years I moved 4 years ago cause I was buying a house couldn't afford Naples I had to move but I still love Naples though for it is a great place to raise children
If you are Rich. Otherwise, it is a mistake to buy into anything there. A good rule to remember: the mortgage is the cheapest part of owning a home. Other costs: taxes, insurance, interest on loans, repairs, cost of living increases, loss of jobs, etc. can break the budget.

We lived in Bonita Springs 20 yrs. My husband layed brick, stone, marble, did fireplaces for the mansions in Naples. Gated communities. We owned our own home in Bonita Springs Gulf and Country Club. Sold our home in 2007 before the market fell. Made over 300,000 on the home. Moved back to Ohio, where we are from. Yes my husband made a good living because he had his own business. I never liked Florids at all. It grew so fast in population. Just way to many people. To hot and humid for me. Drugs are bad everywhere. But because of beaches and weather its always been a party envirornment.
So true. If you read Millionaire Next Door, you will find the truth about who are millionaires and those who want to impress people and are broke.

Mi Lynn 20 years here i came from ky. It was hard my street was gangs shootings weekly
@Teddy James Hollywood is a Dive with lots of violent crime. Only the rich can afford the good side that is parts of West Hollywood.

Haha. 🤣🤣
High Price of Housing/Living is driving out the Retirees . But i hate to tell them . Their are very few Low Cost of Living area's left in the US .
America is becoming a country that only cares about the rich. Sad.
Try Green Valley AZ south of Tucson. Still cheap and low crime.
@Rob Roberts Not to mention when the ghettobusters move in you have to move out.
Give me a break, then either make more money, push yourself to make smarter decisions, or live more modestly and carefully. You don’t own the city, if you did, you could set your own boundaries. Go somewhere you can afford to live. My guess is you won’t like those places….

Every place has good things and bad things but Naples is definitely mostly good. You can only know that by living in multiple cities like I have. Florida has almost no control over development and zoning. It’s out of control.
Mr. Q sure there is. Been under control since the 70’s when it comes to each front. The east coast was ruined in the 60’s though

@@fwtailchaser3502 Its a nice place for someone with a 300,000 net worth, but I am about halfway there.. I could do better elsewhere till we can save and do more.
FW tailchaser You will love it here. This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I have never experienced this BS.
Michelle Batzel I don’t doubt you any bit! Originally, We were looking at Orlando area in the Wedgefield development but Naples has better rating in all aspects ie...School rating, lower crime rate, beautiful beaches and more.
It is beautiful with many terrific people who are down to earth.I think you should move out the sooner the better and find a place that you like.I for one will stay in my mobile home.Good luck to you as you seem to hate it in Naples.
try selling that mobile home one day, you will find yourself same place ive been for over an year. mobile home is the worst investment possible

Number 2 reason is exactly why I would move there..move to Compton or east LA..

Lauren Masterson lots of jobs in texas now
Austin is going to shit as well,..been in Austin for 25 years..police suck, the rich kids are disrespectful, the city has become overrun with Meth heads and the housing is over priced and the Gov.,Mayor and City managey are ruining the city...

@@vlz.matthew Crime rate, infrastructure, city planning, yes. But community resources, job opportunities, nightlife and youth no.
Though Naples is changing and growing exponentially.
people are moving to naples because 1) scenic beauty 2) good services 3) upscale retirement area 4) return on investment for property purchases 3) low property taxes 4) no state income tax (like other parts of florida 5) outdoors activities 6) beaches 7) fishing, boating --- negatives 1) jobs pay less 2) real estate is expensive compared to the u.s. as a whole 4) not much to do for young adults 5) lack of four seasons...temps are usually 90 or so. even in the winter it's like summer. 6) traffic during high season is difficult 7) overall cost of living is higher here than most cities in midsize cities in the u.s. ...the area is growing quickly because rich retirees buy second houses or condos here. overall i'd give naples an A- for quality of life. the only thing i dislike really is the lack of four seasons. hot and sunny all the time. peter rinaldi, naples collier county florida
peter rinaldi why i would not buy real estate in naples video coming soon

It's not what it used to be
Fort Myers looks like a working class town where the regular folks live.

It’s going to be amazing watching rich people try and grow themselves food in they’re yards soon
I grew accustomed to being around the upper social class, so hearing about this seems foreign, yet since the middle class is steeped in competition, he may be right.
.. that's the problem now Its only the rich that can afford to be off-grid: buying land to grow crops installing solar buying property near rivers so they can install a dynamo wheel to generate electric power and so on and so forth ... real rich are landowners and well used to cultivating land and living off it.

If there is a dime-sized parcel of land, they build a high rise on it and make a million. The rest of us are being priced out. Do not remain silent. Many silent homeless out there.
The middle class should buy into co-op properties and charge affordable rents. Buy young, retire rich.

I never liked Florids at all. It grew so fast in population. Just way to many people. To hot and humid for me. Drugs are bad everywhere. But because of beaches and weather its always been a party envirornment.
