at 8:30 , I would probably have started with a plane and then try to create a hole within it. But your method seems much better.... starting with a hole feels better then creating a mesh and putting a hole in it... By the way, great tutorial - already subscribed.
I'm trying to learn Blender and I've posted a couple of videos, I've just realized I'm very bad at modeling. I'll practice with this one and hopefully many more, subscribed!
I have a problem ( 5 :00) in this part when i pull the faces down only the extruded face pulled down but the main face stay there . I couldn't see the shape
Do u have any tips for the top of the cans ? I Block for the top of the cans principally because the subdivision surface don't want to be apply and my vertex are not align as in the video …
The best tips I can give are. 1. Make sure the top of the can is a separate object, this will allow you to have as much resolution as you want. 2. Use a small amount of geometry then by hand place the vertices onto the lines. You can use the x-ray view to see through the model. 3. Once you have your shape, use holding edges, these are edges that are close to other edges in order to make them sharp. You can see me perform this step in the video when I bevel.
@@InsidetheBoxFilms I have a problem with the knife at 2:54 is it ok if I juste select my two vertex then I press F on the keyboard ? Thank u sooooo much for your answer man !
It's possible that you have hidden vertices, or vertices that are very close to others so they appear to be one. You can get rid of these by hitting "tab" to jump into edit mode then "1" for vertex mode. Then you hit "a" to select all of them. Then "m" to merge vertices and select "by distance".
it would be super helpful if you included the keyboard shortcuts you are using on screen
It would be useful if you got one of those plugins that displays what shortcuts you're using as you go, for beginners.
He says it was an intermediate tutorial. So it, wasn't even made for you.

good stuff my man
Great content amigo. It would be great if you used that add on that displays which command you are inputing so it's easier to follow :)
Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into a way to do that.
You should use the mirror modifier for the lids
This is such a great video for learning this stuff. Thank you!!!
Hi, I stop over at the part of knife tool 2:52. Can everyone tell me how to make lines point-to-point? Can't find the video teach that. Thanks
oh lol...buddy just double left to draw next and when done with the cuts press space bar to apply the final cuts...hope so it helps :)
The shortcut you need is "K"
@@rohh9714 hard to do it, I spend almost half hour, just finish one line. btw... thanks
You can select the two points you want to draw a line between and press J
Great! Thanks! Off to the second video.
Great video, will try this. I am new to blender but will try to follow along.

No worries man, modeling can be quite difficult. Keep practicing and you'll be flying through it in no time!
@@InsidetheBoxFilms thank you!
how do you moved the to vertices simultaneously is it an add on ?
is it possible to provide a project file for the model please
can u share obj file :p i wanna compare it to my model
Really good tut, i am a begginer and i really understand all
Thank you a lot! Super tutorial!
Wow. Thanks for this, just subbed to you.
Thanks dude! Welcome aboard.

Hi there! Is it not smoothing in the preview or on the subdivision modifier?
@@InsidetheBoxFilms I found other way to make the can. But I really thank you for your answer ❤
@Inside the Box This is hard, can you do me a favor and model another soda can like that for free download on Free3D so I can use it for my videos?
