    Imagine if the British held Cuba. How different would history be?

      It would be like Jamaica. British avoided settling in great numbers in tropical climate.

      you can only think in colonization, huh. since this is an imagination exercise, imagine instead the cuban people free from all exploitation.

      Since Puerto Rico is officially part of the US I'm afraid it won't get it's own video. But he's at countries starting with P now so let's see.

    My Grandfather fled Cuba when he was 16 without his parents. He went on the Peter Pan flight to Florida. My Great Grandparents didn't want him to get in more trouble after he was beat senselessly and whipped by police for protesting the recently put in power communists. Eventually he had kids and one of them was my dad.

    Cuba needs to be free of the 62 year dictatorship and finally embrace democracy.

      It was never a democracy. It was just a US sponsored dictatorship prior to the revolution in 1959

    • @milekrizman
      @milekrizman ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. But very slow and gradually. Not like Eastern Europe and Russia in the 90's where minority of greedy technocrats took all the resources and power. Some social benefits gained through revolution must maintain. Otherwise it will be rerun of the 1950's.

    I'm Cuban, and I'd just like to say that you did a great job with this!!! Just saying though, the US put the blockade after the Cubans sided with the USSR, they were too pussy to deal with the USSR so close to home; ironic, isn't it? They set up missiles in Turkey, aim then to the USSR, and when the USSR retaliates, doing the same but in Cuba, the US goes apeshit

    The Teller Amendment is worth researching for those not too familiar with American History. It was proposed to be a state. I think a lot of Cubans remember our Platt and Teller Amendments.

    you made a mistake about the Cuban Health Dept. Cuba produce very good doctors, but Cuba send them in "missions around the world, those countries paid around 10.000 -20.000 per year for doctor depending what country and doctor's specialty , Cuba paid those doctor leaving in worse conditions sometimes then Cuba(hard to believe but truth) they get paid 200/month (PURE DISGRACE), I have to nephews they did 2 missions one of them i South America the other in Tanzania, on the 3 opportunity one is brain surgeon, when to Portugal for a conference and defected , now he is a doctor with a bright future, the other defected in Chile, and the situation in the hospital right now there you better bring you own sheet for the bed at the hospital , they will not provide you with one, medicine? we have to send them from here , but if you are paying in dollars we will give you a sheet , pain killer whatever you need. communism is a cancer that kills everything it touch

    I think Cuba 🇨🇺 should be a better prosperous Country.
    Where it would and should be a better Country for everyone.
    Starting with the people who lives there. I always wanted to live there. But it's such a Poor Bad Country to live in. And a long list of other things. ☹️

    Buen video, salvo que las atrocidades españolas no fueron mentira. Pusieron a la población rural en campos de concentración, donde murió el 25% de la misma, de entre 150 a 300 mil cubanos.
