Cole palmer went for 40 odd mill last summer, barely the game time of nketiah, who has proven that he can play and score in the Premier league. Why is it so absurd? Especially when Academy players are going for around 20 million?

Nketiah will go where he will be paid the most. But, yes, he may need to drop his wage demands.

Only an atrociously run club would sign a clear backup striker and make him the highest paid player in the squad.
Balogun wasn't worth 40m either, but there you go - it's a grotesquely inflated market, and strikers are a rarity at the moment. 20% of that asking price is probably little more than English / homegrown tax!
Balogun was a youth prospect that was highly rated. Nketiah is a flop. There is a big difference.
