    (In no particular order)
    🧚🏼‍♀️ *Write 3 things you’re grateful for*
🧚🏼‍♀️ *Clean 8 minutes a day everyday* (Set a timer)
🧚🏼‍♀️ Take care of your skin + AD - *have a skin care routine*
🧚🏼‍♀️ *Read ingredients on food* (not just the calories)
🧚🏼‍♀️ *learn one new thing everyday* doesn’t necessarily have to be reading a book/ listening to a podcast - just google something you’re curious about!
🧚🏼‍♀️ *Include one vegetable in your diet* (for her it’s Kale) it’s one less decision to make/veggie to incorporate
🧚🏼‍♀️ *Turn off your notifications for social media* (live in the moment)
🧚🏼‍♀️ *Finish something you once started* (completing a goal for example)
    You’re welcome :)

      - Terrible Thanks For Asking which is a podcast about “talking honestly about our pain, our awkwardness, and our humanness, which is not an actual word.”
      - Modern Love which features top actors performing true stories of love, loss, and redemption.

    2. Taking notes. My fruit is apple...

    4. Taking notes. I need to study this. Don't buy pree made food so that is good!

    6. I also look at the basics for gratitude like my house and food.
    7. I just made myself a daily cleaning routine and I love it! Stress free finally 👍

I can totally attest to the timing technique!!! For years whenever I switch my kettle on I race myself to quickly tidy up things that are lying around my kitchen before the water boils and it works so much. Queue 3 songs on Spotify that you love and tidy your room before they finish.

_Everything_ is a chemical/contains chemicals. Water is a chemical (dihydrogen monoxide) that makes up a big percentage of our bodies and the earth; it's something that we drink, shower or bathe with, swim in (sometimes with other chemicals added in), we use it to wash our face and clothes, and part of our daily water intake comes from food and other drinks. We exhale carbon dioxide daily. You probably season some of your food with some form of salt (sodium chloride). Parabens were a scare ingredient, especially in the early 2000s (they were linked to breast cancer); they occur naturally in blueberries. Sodium lauryl sulfate is still in many a shampoo and is an ingredient (specifically, it's a surfactant) groups and certain people like to scaremonger about (it is a safe ingredient to use AND can irritate some peoples' scalps -- both things are true!); it occurs naturally in coconuts. Not to mention the fact that even natural ingredients don't work for certain people, and others are allergic to them. Some people are allergic to whole foods or can't eat them because of their texture. Chemicals in and of themselves aren't the problem. It's how much of one that you take into your body that causes a problem. (People have died from overhydration, for example.) "The dose makes the poison."

The whole “if your grandma doesnt know the ingredient don’t use it/eat it” is such ridiculous advice as well. People used to use way worse ingredient decades ago (lead). And thickeners/emulsifiers/preservatives are not always bad it definitely depends on the type and requires more research that fear mongering all food additives.

    • @hoearab3106
      @hoearab3106 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

she said “chemicals that we don’t know about.” obviously we all took high school chemistry and know that water is a chemical. the point is that the food industry is extremely processed and what is done to the food is not necessarily in the best interest for our bodies.

    • @444fawn
      @444fawn 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

its important to avoid using and consuming products containing more chemicals but I think its more about the portion you consume. You can have cookies in moderation or a donut every once in a while even if they contain ingredients that are not all natural or healthy

So in love with the Authenticity that is reflected in her voice and in her vibe. At the age of 48 I've come to accept certain hard truths. It's never ever ever ever too late to build new habits and to learn to live - to really live your truest life. I am beginning to finally have the courage to stand up for myself and to pursue what I've always wanted to do for ME. Loving and giving is beautiful but self-love and me-time is beyond beautiful - it's crucial and Important to grow. Love. Light. Smiles.

I started a “what sparks joy” jar in which I rate my happiness on a scale of 1-5 and write down at least one thing that made me happy on a note everyday before bed. So far, I can already tell that it’s helping me appreciate the simple and little things that truly sparks joy in me. I’m planning to do it for the whole year and read all 365 notes on new year’s eve.

    Amy,
Prior to stumbling upon your video... I was basically walking into this new year practically asleep. No New Years resolution, no motivation, nothing to look forward to, almost as if it was just another ordinary day in my boring life. As I reach the 12 minute mark of this video, I’m please to say that you’ve inspired me to remember even small changes are still changes. I absolutely needed to see this video! Thank you so much for being PRACTICAL with all these positive habits. These are changes/habits that are within reach for us all. & I think that’s what inspired me the most is that every single of the habits you mentioned are all things I can start to incorporate in my daily routine... right now. This video has definitely brought some light in my darkened tunnel vision. Thank you for being you & thank you for sharing these tips and tricks. Happy New Year! & I’m certainly excited to see what this year will ring in for you. I hope to see more videos like this.
    Cheers!

My favorite habits are creating a skincare ritual & learning something new everyday. As a teenager, I think both are very important! Struggling with acne when I was younger really lowered my self-esteem, and it was just recently when I got into skincare routines. I am slowly investing in my skin as I grow older and it’s something I really recommend. My confidence has improved so much now that my skin is getting healthier and clearer. I’ve always had “learn something new everyday” in my resolutions. I enjoy learning new things especially since I am an artist! In the past year I learned so much stuff like digital painting, a bit of photoshop, and video editing. I’d love to learn more in the next year like real-life painting and animation! Lastly, finish something you once started. Aside from books and series, I’ve abandoned sooo many plans for myself. I’ve always wanted to start a business even when I was still young, and last November I finally started it. Now I am making my family proud and making money on my own and jt’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m looking forward to finishing more of the plans I have for myself. ❤️

I recently turned off all my notifications except for texts, calls, and emails. I learned what social media's I really don't care about and only kept around out of habit. I also made it a habit to monthly go through and clear out any app I have that I don't use, so I'm always keeping unused games and distractions off of my phone.
It's also a good habit to activate the Do Not Disturb feature and have it set so your phone is FULLY notification free from your bedtime until two hours after waking up. Super refreshing and good to not stare at your phone immediately.

I've been doing the notification thing because mom would often check the phone (it's hers so) and so I'd turn notifications off on all my social media. Also the veggie thing because I don't like many veggies so I'd only eat cucumbers and zucchinis :D also started the learning a new thing every day, by watching Am with Amy lmao. And the 3 things I'm grateful for because I journal. I don't "clean" everyday because it's really hard for me to get out of bed. But every day/ every other day, I'd clean my table or bed or even go through instagram/ pinterest and remove things that are irrelevant.
Also I did this thing where I un followed a lot of these "influencers" and really famous celebrities because honestly that's not adding anything new/ positive to my life. And I started following a lot more of these authentic, real and raw TH-camrs and instagramers and it has helped soo much. My feed isn't cluttered with unnecessary things and drama and it feels more like a happy positive place.

Amy, you're such a great soul. I love how true you are to your followers, and the fact that you truly care about giving effective advice and not superficial, 'beauty guru-ish' ones. You're one of the youtubers I follow with most pleasure. Keep up the good work :) A big hug from Italy!

All good habits but my favorite is definitely to pick a vegetable that revolves around your diet! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video! I love it when you make videos like this, and the AM with Amy ones too! So happy I found you and your channel this year.

I love the habit of learning something new everyday! I noticed that being idle all day isn’t healthy for my well-being 😭 Plus there’s so much to learn. This year I’ve learned more about myself and I agree with the idea that our thoughts can impact us, but we shouldn’t let our perception control us!

This was a really good video. So much going on in todays world and so many changes and people have so many distractions the simplicity of just reading ingredients on your food is so dope to me. Love this video!

I've been very motivated to improve myself in the few months, subscribing to Skillshare and Headspace and picking up books and yoga. Recently I've been reading book called Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, and have started to keep a daily planner where I note down what I learn each day, whether I meditate, do yoga or read. It's quite fulfilling to be flipping the planner and see that I have put in some sort of contribution to bettering myself daily, albeit really small and "insignificant".

I really enjoyed your way of talking and explaining things - so natural and eloquent - f.ex how your skin is manifesting on the outside what is going on internally, or to pick one veggie for life - I picked oatmeal for breakfast as one less decision to have in life :D i love veggies too much to pick just one :p
