The real issue with traumatic experiences caused by others is that they put you in that victim mindset. It took me so long to get out of it, but i agree that this is THE MOST important mental shift to do. Take the power back

Amen. I know for me I'm still dealing internally with a lot but despite that I always told myself that it isn't fair to allow what I'm dealing with to affect others or to mistreat others. I pushed to nor do that for years, and now I've climbed even more in my mindset to help myself and make a move in life myself as well.

    Hi Lavendair,
I have my morning routine where I do:
    1. Meditation for 10minutes
    2. Exercise: 10 push ups; 10 abdominal work; 10 Squads and if I have time a bit of yoga.
    3. Reading for 10 minutes
    4. Scribing for 10 minutes.
This routine helps me getting more grounded and focus on the day a head. Sometimes I change it so it won't be the same everytime. And even when I'm late or in a hurry at least I always meditate.
And thanks so much for all you're sharing about self improvement. You've really helped me be at least more at peace with myself.

    Reading has changed my life! I grew up having a fixed mindset of not improving my English, especially when teachers saw me differently and my grades were low in Asian standards. I started to shift into a growth mindset when I studied what I wanted in college. Now, after college, I have more freedom to read what I want. But I do have to fix my habit of starting too many books and not just focusing on one. Haha (;
Journaling is also helping me to let go, accept the thoughts as they are, and move on. It's quite interesting how the mind works.

I read every night and have for my entire life since I could read (maybe minus a day here and there, I'm 20yo)! It's just so integrated into my routine that it's like brushing my teeth. Honestly, if you just keep doing it, it will become a habit. There's something amazingly relaxing about reading a few pages before going to sleep. I've learnt a lot through novels, whether they're even supposed to be educational/inspiring or not. Books stimulate your brain in a way TV shows etc can't (even though I love visual media too!)

  • @mschrisfrank2420

I agree in a sense with number one, but complaining and identifying the cause of problems is an important step to change. It’s just not a state to dwell in. I feel like telling people to never complain or blame the appropriate external factors is dangerous because it implies that everything wrong in the world and your life is your responsibility. Yes, you can only expect yourself to improve things, but you have to be careful not start believing that if you have a struggle it’s all your fault or that you shouldn’t try to change problems in the world.

#5 is my favorite. i tend to be dramatic and really focused towards my goals but recently i’ve tweaked my perspective just a little and it’s made me a better person to just be able to let go of my perfectionism, of other’s expectations. it’s not so much about being completely carefree for me but rather remembering that it’s your life at the end of the day, you decide whether you’re enjoying it or not. i would like to thank my ex for leaving me and with her, the constant unnecessary negativity i had grown so used to. 😊

This is what I really want to hear. That we should stop focusing too much on every detail of our life (focusing on it sometimes falls to being negative) and LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE. Because if we try to look at the bigger perspective, we realize that MOST THINGS ARE INSIGNIFICANT! Thank you so much for making us feel inspired, enjoy life, and that we are not alone.

One habit that has changed my life is thinking before I speak! I never felt like I was a super malicious person or someone with no filter lol, but there were times when I wouldn't think about the future impact of my words on myself, my image, and other people's images (this usually happened as gossip). If there's anything I've learned, it's that your words will always come back around to you, so if you spread good things through your words you will experience good but it's equally true for bad/harmful things you say without thinking. It'll come back in ways you wouldn't even expect. Just treating everyone with the respect they deserve and remembering that you never know what's really going on in someone's life is a great habit to cultivate ✌️

I agree that reading is a really positive habit. Not only do you learn stuff but it's a really meditative practice which I like. I would just like to recommend reading fiction as well as non-fiction. The life lessons we learn from fiction aren't maybe as clear but I think that's part of what makes it so interesting.
Another habit that's really important to me is to be out in nature. To see trees, flowers and grass. I grew up in the suburbs where this was part of my every day without really thinking about it. Now I live in the city and since nature isn't around the corner anymore I try to actively make time to seek it out. I go to parks on my lunch breaks or take the bus out of the city for forest hikes on weekends. There is just something so grounding about hearing birdsong and the wind in the trees :)

*raise hand* I do read nearly every day ! Not as much as I did as a kid/teen when I didn't have internet and had only books to occupy my time, sadly, but I aim to go back to it little by little. I love to read & need to occupy myself during subway rides to school/work, so that's easy, I just need to think about putting my book in my bag... But I'm doing fine on this :D
Did I paused to go write a page of things I'm grateful for ? Yep. Yep I did. Thanks for the reminder ! I'm not sure I want to do it every single day, but two or three times a week could do me some good.
Meditation is also something I need to work on, I feel the same, it does a lot of good but I can't seem to make the habit stick.

Hi ! I read everyday ! First, it's a big part of my Morning Routine. When I got a break,I read. I read for my work, and it's a part of my Nigth Routine. The most important thing that change my life is meditation, I meditate every single day, on mornings and every time I've got a break and don't know what to do, I meditate. Medidate makes me realize that nothing matters as much as the present and it was difficult for me to agree with this before. Now it's obvious in my mind.
I really enjoy your video Aileen ❤
(Sorry for my english, it's pretty hard for me to write it correctly ^-^)

I've been trying to read more because I love to do it but I'm realizing that the books I'm reading are not my type and that's why I haven't been able to commit into reading them. I'm gonna check your favorite books in case there's something that might change my frustration. Thank you for this video 💜

Love this new set-up. Now your videos look even lighter than before! Also, I try to read every day. If I really don't feel like it, I'll at least try to read 10 pages. However, I do get into reading slumps once in a while. Things can't always be perfect, right? :)

Hi Aileen, I've been a follower of yours for a long time and I truly hope for your success always :) With that being said, I just want to be honest and say that I'm starting to worry about how some of your points have an insensitive tone :'( When you talked about how getting knowledge will lead people out of poverty (when you talked about the book "The richest man in babylon"), I began wondering...getting that knowledge is one thing and having the capability to get that knowledge in the first place is another

Thank you for this comment ! I thought I was the only one to think that about the video (especially the first "habit") and even though it can be true that we have the power to change our life, there are basic factors that can make it more difficult (not everyone has the chance to be born in a wealhty family and to live in L.A. ;) ) ! Anyway, thank you for aknowledging that ! :)

One of my biggest habits would be to pray but to also constantly remind myself its a marathon and not a race. I also have to remember to give myself credit for the small things instead of focusing on why I am not onto the bigger wins.
