    In this video we are going to show you how to install or swap to electric fans on your NBS Silverado or Sierra. I really wish that GM would have done this earlier in the run of these trucks. I will be say that I like to use original GM Fans if you are able to find a set for a decent price. This electric fan swap is very easy and adds several benefits. You will free up some extra horsepower. You should see an increase in gas mileage and the reason I did it was the sound. The stock fan clutch is crazy loud and I just can't stand it. You will notice in this video in order for this swap to work you need to have the 34" Core radiator. I originally thought I had that but didn't. Bonus you also get to see how to install the bigger core radiator. I purchased and install a GM OEM radiator for nbs silverado and sierra. This is a pretty easy install also. It gave me the opportunity to drain the old dexcool and replace too. If you are looking to get e fans on your silverado or sierra this video is a must watch. This how to will also apply to tahoe and yukon of the same years. One of the best mods for a NBS silverado or NBS sierra. Hit the comments and let me know what you think.

    I did that E-fan swap to my 2000 Sierra and my boys 02 tahoe. Sierra gave me fits. Being a 4x4 and older than the Tahoe also 4x4 by 2 years my 4WD quit working, no lo range, just 1st and 2nd gear . Couldnt figure it out had to have a tuner install a different program out of a 2005 Sierra. Works good now. Even with the headache, it was worth it to me, as I live in the So. Ca. desert, and I haul water trailers out to the desert for our wildlife drinkers. Keep up the good work, enjoy your channel.

    I just did this mod a little over a year ago. One of the best upgrades you can make on these rigs. You get better cooling at idle, which helps with the AC. You get less noise in some respects. The slight pickup in HP. More room in your engine bay to work on other stuff when needed. The worst thing for me was waiting several months because my HP Tuners was on backorder for months.
    Pro tip on removing the clutch fan: Sacrifice a wrench by cutting an end off and welding it to an air hammer tool at a 90 degree angle. If you have the means of course. I realize not everyone has access to a welder.

      @@TWAMotorsports Everything's good man, Daughter turns 18 this Jan and Graduates HS this coming may so just a lot of family stuff. Just installed a Detroit Truetrac and 4:10's on my truck. All in all rebuilt the entire rear end. First time I've had the diff cover off since buying this truck a couple of years ago and I found nothing but carnage. RPO code was for 3.73's with no Gov Lock. No place in the glove box was the G80 code. But she sure had one and it was smoked. Surprised I never had any issues with the rear-end. The magnet was completely covered in metal, the fluid was burnt and thick and I probably used a gallon of brake clean on the rear axle tubes and carrier housing getting all the metal shavings out. Glad I get it free from work, so a simple job turned into a 3 day job but don't they all! lol. I lucked out on the pinion depth as the factory shim was perfect and only had to remove one shim on the left side to get my backlash within spec. So going back together went pretty smooth. Going to drain and inspect how everything's wearing in next week and top it back off.

    That was a very well done efan upgrade! You hit on all the needed details.
    I did the same on my 2002 Sierra. Best choice is to use the factory fans and wiring for sure (Fits and looks stock). I pulled fans and wiring ($45) from a local junkyard and it was a good education for the install.
    Had to change the radiator too, but well worth it. Engine temp is always good even on the hottest days.
    My fan clutch was loud as well and I always notice the quieter engine when driving. Few extra horsepower is slightly noticeable, but also a good chance to clean things up and adds room to work under the hood.
    For the 99 to 02 you have to change out the a/c sensor or the a/c will not work correctly. Tune is a little different too but easy.

    Hello all. I'm having a hard time finding the correct information on Google or YT videos. I have a 2004 Yukon XL 2500 with the 8.1ltr engine. I have a radiator that's Core Width: 37-13/16 Inch, Core Height: 19-7/16 Inch. Inlet Hose Diameter: 1-9/16 Inch
    Outlet Hose Diameter: 1-13/16 Inch. Every swap video I see involves a 34" core radiator. Is there a electric fan swap setup for keeping the 8.1ltr factory size radiator? I just put my new radiator in last year and would prefer to keep it.

    • @TWAMotorsports

      Not that I am aware of but measure only the fin section not the entire radiator. My guess is you have a 34" unit already

    • @smartart1969
      @smartart1969 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may need a wiring upgrade such as the Big Three ground setup. I used 1/0 power and ground wires in the charging circuit. Also added a 2nd battery in parallel to supplement added current draw. GM makes a battery bracket for the passenger side engine compartment. Then I added a Nations 300 amp alternator I did this upgrade 3 years ago using a new factory 34" radiator, factory fan assembly from Rock Auto and a relay controller from the wrecking yard. Works flawlessly. BP Automotive can help with wiring and tech support. I would start with the wire upgrade and a GM high output alternator. School bus alternators put out 165 amps. Should be plenty of amps. Hope this may help your voltage drop issues ! I added all this power for a killer sound system too !

    Nice job ! Better gas mileage , More H/P , Colder AC , you can also increase it a little bit more by throwing down some shorty headers from ebay and a K&N air cleaner , use Snythetic oil and nothing but Super un-leaded !

Left me stranded and the "mechanic" was puzzled when I called him about it. I do everything I can myself and don't trust many to touch my vehicles. I was in a pickle at the time.
