    I just want to know why is it that Tyler Perry sees to me the black community in this constant light of Abuse?

    • @KiaundraJackson
      @KiaundraJackson  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      That's a great question. Maybe his own unprocessed trauma? Maybe he knows his audience & that some black ppl will watch no matter what he creates? I'm not sure but those are my guesses

      In my opinion, the older generation appeared to appreciate his work more when he was performing in plays. It would be beneficial for Tyler Perry to collaborate with a new generation of filmmakers. Unlike Tyler Perry, directors such as Steven Spielberg and John Singleton do not write, direct, and act in their own films.

    Eva’s best friend was great but I had a problem with her getting in the face on an abusive man. Or a man in general. If he decided to lift a hand towards her because she’s barking at him, there’d be nothing she could do to defend herself. Could’ve made things worse for both of the ladies. Let men handle other men

    • @KiaundraJackson
      @KiaundraJackson  หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I think we all need a "ride or die" friend. But you are right! It could have gone badly for her. I just think she was trying to protect her friend especially when her husband or no other men were around to really help. (Like when he would pop up at their job etc)

    Since Tyler Perry insist that he doesn’t need any help with his writing it would benefit him to invest in a few college courses to expand his horizons and to give him a greater outlook on developing new material. Preferably courses that use his work to show what not to do that incorporate teaching about nuance, continuity, character development, balance, creativity, blending, detail and timing to start with. Every professional who wants to stay in the game obtains further training no matter how much they are recognized and no matter how many accolades they have received. If Tyler Perry wants to remain a one man band he needs to put in the work to revise his vision. After 20+ years in the industry, no way should everything he does resemble a copy and paste formula. Can you image if Shonda Rhimes, gave the same thing over and over. She would easily lose her followers because they demand greatness from her and she is willing to give it after over 20 years in the industry. So many others give their heart and soul to produce quality work but don’t get the support that Tyler Perry’s mediocre at best work gets which that’s sad because he’s treated as some kind of God, someone to be worship instead of viewed as a man who really can do better

    "I wanna sleep with you, in your room, in your bed" -- That line made me fly back in my chair, 'cause I loved it -- Ava later realizes she was married to the wrong man, all along. -- And, we discover she has a great support team -- Yes, this movie is similar to 'Diary of A Mad Black Woman' (that may have been intentional, because Tyler believes black women deserve genuine romance). -- There are many black women in the US without a man, but after watching this film, and then discover its main message is "Black women are worthy of romance, too, despite the odds" makes this a must-see movie. -- I enjoyed the suspenseful moments -- Meagan Goode is listed as one of the film's producers, very good to know, and she looks so beautiful. Ledisi wrote the song "I Will Survive" it fits perfectly with the movie's main point.

So many unanswered questions! They could’ve spent more time on the backstory of their relationship and the family dynamics. And why was the relationship rushed between Megan’s character and the new boo? She went from “get him out my face” to having sex with him and that was just odd.

    I enjoyed the movie but I was soooo triggered. My father was like the husband. Violent, jealous, abusive, and extremely aggressive. It caused a lot of damage in our lives as we grew into young adults. Even after 20 years my father remained the same until my brothers died and I eventually cut him out of my life.
    I’m happy my mother left him despite the hardships we faced not having our father covering us. Ive been able to accomplish quite a bit after transmuting all of that pain into power.
    I still can’t figure out why he’s still breathing though. I’m my mother’s child and I’m a lady but I draw a line in the concrete when it comes to abuse. That’s the quickest way to never see me again.
    The sad part is that even as a small child I could see the pain that he never healed from. I could see the child in him that needed someone to reach out and love him. I tried for so long to be that for him but at some point I learned to love myself too.

      I think if more couples stuck together through their issues the black community would thrive. I have Asian friends and their families have stuck together for decades. Somebody please tell TP that there are positive black relationships. All his movies have the same format: the abusive mother, the abusive man, and a man to rescue the abused woman. TP should consider using novels or a writer room moving forward because we can not keep watching these trash movies.

      There are absolutely positive black relationships! We are seeing the same storyline in different movies. I think he knows he has an audience & most will watch anything he makes. (Especially since he is a self-made black billionaire)

    The movie was good but that funeral scene was to much for me.

      It was waaaaayyyyy too much. I've been to tons of funerals & something like is highly unlikely to happen.

      Yes he does know his audience. His very strong, very huge, very loyal followers who really couldn’t care less about the material he produces. They are merely in love with Tyler Perry , the man, his story, his struggle and him overcoming. He could film wet paint drying and they would watch , support and defend his work. He could copy and paste forever and they wouldn’t mind just as long as it’s Tyler Perry. It’s almost if they’re obligated to supporting and defending him, even though many of them have confused that his work is not good
