Once the girls get a uniform they are stuck with that size uniform for the rest of their career.... wuttttt?!!! 🫨🤯😡 Yet they get berated for having "low energy"?!!.... hello if they didn't feel like they had to starve themselves to fit into a uniform then they would have energy to perform! I was in awe and hooked from the first episode, the girls are fun to watch and amazing athletes!! But only a few episode in I wanted to reach into my screen and just scream and shake them. "What they are doing to you is not right!!!!" Some parts just broke my heart for them but I kept on watching, even though the premise of the show was so off-putting and concerning. Don't even get me started on the blatant racism and discrimination. On more than one occasion the coaches and judges dance around the idea of not liking some of the girls because of their, color, heritage, looks but it's so obvious what they're saying between the lines. During auditions Kelli asks what race Anisha is, when referring to the music she chose for her audition. The correct term would've been ethnicity/culture, but that just goes to show how Kelli thinks of other people. I agree with you that the girls want to join to be a part of something bigger and it appears "great" to them, but it's sad to see them loose their identities over an organization that treats them so horribly 😔 @KiaundraJackson

Knowing oneself, one's True Identity, IS prerequisite for trying to 'fix' the mind/behavior of others.

I remember a girl from seaon 9. Her name was Courtney. Kelli really liked her, BUT she looked "heavy in our uniform." Kelli asked her how much weight she lost because she looked "great." She told Kelli she lost 8-9 pounds. The girl then goes on to say, "I haven't weighed this much since I was in high school. Courtney was 24 years old when she made the team. She didn't return the following year. Word has it is that she couldn't commit to the weight requirements. She's a grown menstruating woman weighing the same weight when she was a teenager. Shame.

They are every bit if not more -athletes than football players. Kelly and Judy - the pious ones - you know they are paid handsomely. ..to put up with the put downs on height, personality, hair color. It wasn't as brutal as Making the Team where they showed ALL the critiques...oh she's not Jumbotron worthy, etc. The only satisfaction was seeing Victoria's aha moment of leaving that antiquated caste system. That's the word "Abusive" Feels abusive. If you're trained to be a glorified mnanequin you're not going to know who you are.

I honestly believe that the whipping the head back and forth ( aka wind through the hair) during flips causes the black girls hair to mess up. If you don’t supper gel the hair then it will lift when flipping not to mention the sweeting will cause frizzing. Gel is not terribly healthy for our hair and so it does NOT appear that Simone , Gabby, Dominique used lots of gel and I don’t blame them because it’s very drying. The other girls may tend to wash their hair daily or at least several times a week and so the gel might not affect them much. Also slicking the Hair back very tight can cause the hair line to break off which is also not good so I’m glad that they care more about keeping their hair than slicking it down just for looks or from keeping others from committing. You know what they say, if your hair isn’t messed up after you finish working them you didn’t do your job.

If we want people to accept us - we must accept others. And we should just listen and not judge. She is expressing her experience, we should celebrate her and understand her journey as an other facet of womanhood, blackness and her artistic life.
