I just bought an 1290 super adventure r, and it’s a lot faster and better acceleration than the 790. The 790 is okay but it’s nothing compared to the 1290. 100hp 189kg vs 160hp 217kg. Just so people understand the big difference. The 1290 driver just had a bad start or was very careful at the throttle because of the hp. Great video by the way!
@@Big1_yes on autobahn is true. But when you find 10 twisties the 790 adv eats in 2 second every 1290. 30kg of weight in a bike is more important of 50 cv. Obviusly on twisties. The 1290 is not a fun bike. A 890 duke r is too faster than a sd 1290. Probably you are a biker without money that use to go for dealer in test ride days. For 20 min

Wow, so much KTM fun in Croatia! I enjoy my 790 S so much here in the American Southwest. I put Dunlop Trailmax tires on it which are quite a bit more dirt oriented. For a Croatia trip I think I'd put the Avon's back on.
guys, KTM 790 Adventure R is stable at high speeds ? no wobble ??? I am in the market for a new bike. before a test ride i am trying to gather some information.
As a 790R owner, while it’s a thrill & I love it, think that race is more about the capability of the 1290 rider. 1290 is a beast, hard to handle, but it should walk away pretty quickly after 60, need to get the TC dialed down & let it climb. 790 is fun, but it’s certainly not a R1 off the line, just peppy

Then i remembered, that here in germany, is the only highway where you can drive this fast legal. At the otherside, we cant drive offroad leagal her in Germany :( Whats kind of normel somewhere, is something speciel somewhere else... Keep up guys, have fun!
Too much restrictive safety interventions for the 1290 to capitalize on its power advantages at lower speeds, should have turned all that stuff off for a true test
@j bornrotten i have similar experiences on my 1190 adv. 1,2,3 gear results in wheelie with mtc off. very raw and brutal power delivery compared to my previous sportbikes with smooth inline 4 cylinder engines. I love my ktm! :)
@@chrisredfield3240 Nah, just get accustomed to the bike before playing silly games. An airbox mod disabled my traction control for the better part of a month. By the time I fixed it I had forgotten about it and now leave it off. Helpful off-road or in the wet, but anytime else it's manageable and worth the time to master. Completely changes the bike, and would have totally changed the outcome of the race.

True, i tested the superadventure 1290 S 1 year ago and this is biased to let win the 790. The 1290 is a fucking beast, 60-200 in nothing
Hey can you give some feed back about the size? Im 6'6 and fit great on the 1290 but wanted to get the less powerful bike as a first bike.

Must be a brave man who can get all those horses going off the line 165? That's if the bike can even manage it without the front lifting too much.
