100% agree. Liron, I appreciate your generosity of sharing, even the thoughts behind the brush strokes and the colors. So much quality content in short videos.
Youre SO good at what you do, it blows my mind! Usually with some things I have trouble understanding the way people explain things, but the way you explain everything, the way you demonstrate and show us, and how the painting is coming to life before our eyes, whilst being able to understand how we can use these techniques in our work, its just incredible to me, thank you so much for these videos!!! I truly hope I can be even close to as good an artist as you are!!🙏🏻🙌🏻💗
Here's an easier solution to muddiness: use a split primary palette. Mixing warm and cool is how lots of muddy mixtures are born (contrary to this video, yes it happens even with just 2 colors). Purples are brighter in cool primary and greens and oranges are brighter with warm primary. It's not that complicated ;)
My solution to beautiful clear bright colours is a clean water and a clean pallet. One touch of cyan in yellow paint and you have green! But this is just me. I like the white of the paper to shine through but then I love bright clear colours. There are no rules to watercolours. Yours are gorgeous too. Love watching you.
I’ve been watching your channel for a while and the thing I want to say is that you explain the hardest things very easily and understandable, and motivate to keep improving! The hard work that you put in making these lessons is indescribable, you are a great teacher🥹 thank you for your videos☺️
Ive been looking for actual watercolor tutorials for ages, and you just saved me from making such horrible decisions in watercolor painting! How come I havent seen your channel before???! Thank you so much for sharing your talent, Ive learned alot already just by watching a 2 videos, and counting
Somehow can this one be one of your best ever? Because of your theme content so well explained; all while demonstrating with a full painting. Reducing to 3 (3-5) colors is on my study horizon. Thank you!
I really enjoy your tutorials you have given me some new tips to apply to my paintings. I enjoy painting but have a lot to learn. Thank you for sharing.
Another wonderful tutorial. Thanks, Liron. Question: Would you consider doing a follow up video in which you show how to use three colors mixed *together* in parts of a painting without producing dull results. Also, I’ve read that “mouse” colors can amplify the effect of operatic colors, no?
Definitely, will do that! And I have a few older vids showing this. I like this one in particular (it shows a little more mixing, but not too much): th-cam.com/video/Zmmk6M7qgYQ/w-d-xo.html And also a newer one (note how the background has a little more mixing = more grays), and as I move forward into the foreground I mix a maximum of 2 dominant colors - for the lit areas that is... for the shadows I still use a bit of a gray): th-cam.com/video/EUaN0Wiw10M/w-d-xo.html As for mouse colors & operatic - not sure what these are 😅 Let me know haha!
@@LironYan thanks for response, and for the links. Will definitely check these out. In her book Making Color Sing (which I highly recommend,) Jeanne Dobie refers to muted/bland/flat colors as “mousey” as in quiet/timid, and vibrant colors as “operatic” (as in loud/intense like an opera singer’s voice). She says you never want two operatic colors next to each other, as it’s overload, unless you are going for that kind of effect. Instead, better to have an operatic color next to a mousey one. An example would be using muted colors around an eye that is a vibrant color to make the latter color really “sing.” Minor actor and “star” so to speak. I think you would find her book really interesting :)
Where is the link to the Frustration-Free Watercolor course? - wait... I found it. This is a perfect quick practice to do over and over. Thanks. I like your teaching style and loose feel.
Hi! Im late to the party but when I try to dull any of the primaries it turns brown. Not sure if im misunderstanding. If I wanna dull yellow, it kinda worked if I first added a little blue to make it green-yellow and then mixed that with a violet mix. Which is what you said later in the video when you showed that the opposite mix-colors dulled eachother. But how do I dull the primaries with eachother without making brown? Colors: Lemon Yellow, Crimson red and either French Ult. Blue or Cobalt blue. Professional grade, W&N
Ahhh.. so this is how to avoid mud'ish'ness.. i was struggling with too heavy a look outcomes, and all my animals resulting in brown hair. Yup.. even my goose got dull.. 🙄 .. thanks so much for this!!..
Hey Liron, Nice tips! I actually have a different question. What do you suggest in order to grow an art TH-cam channel? Following one media like watercolor/digital etc or going for a general 'Art' category where videos can be about any medium say pencil to watercolor everything....? Please provide any good references if you can. Thanks.
Sometimes even smaller details will require mixing a large amount, and using plenty of both water and paint as a basis. And then once you have a somewhat strong mix, you add to that more of the PAINT (very often more than you feel is necessary intuitively), and it should do the trick. I think I know what you mean, and it’s a little tricky to explain with words, so I may also film a vid showing this (:
he works hard n make his work literally free...yes u r wattching a legend rn

Hello sir I want to Lear Josep zbukvics style please give me some tips 😊🙏
i know is not your style but , i want see work watercolor in surreal dark art style one day 🙏🙏
My pet peeve is darkening watercolour and then having it dry with a dusty look
When I try to do thicker and vibrant colours for the details it never happens to me, either it flops or the colour is not too thick enough
Sometimes even smaller details will require mixing a large amount, and using plenty of both water and paint as a basis.
And then once you have a somewhat strong mix, you add to that more of the PAINT (very often more than you feel is necessary intuitively), and it should do the trick.

I find multiple colours lead to very stiff paintings that somehow lack flow even if the artist has created flow in the underpaintings!
Yes that is sometimes the case! (: Less can be more 🎨😁
@@LironYan yess indeed!
I think your colours look really dirty in your palette. One tip would be to make sure they are not contaminated by other colours.
Pro artist's pallet looks so messy and all grey yet it works.. how?
now lets talk about dem grays?
