I like to call this movie, "Ghostbusters: Sponge Out of Water" because the thing that they based the advertisements around and named the movie after doesn't happen until an hour into the film.
I mean it’s the final boss. It came in the final act
That is incredibly harsh. First, Sponge Out of Water is underrated and deserves more respect, second not all movies have to exactly follow their titles, third so what? The Ghostbusters are still giving the fans what they wanted. I feel like you’re just hating this movie because you saw the Pitch Meeting for it.

Once I heard that the guy who voiced Male Jesse from Minecraft Story Mode is in this movie I immediately went to watch this movie in theaters

I had an interesting trailer selection when I saw this movie.
-Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The movie they were playing at the other side of the theater.
-The Shrek 2 re-release. Not only a trailer for a re-release, but that theater didn't actually show it.
-The Fall Guy. The other side of the theater was so loud, you could already hear this trailer playing there before it played on your side.
-Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Actually, there was nothing silly about this choice.

I am a little sad that the Frozen Empire didn't happen until later, but goddamn, was Garraka a cool(sorry)goddamn villain. The whole of his backstory, I got the same vibes I did when I first heard the story of Ivo Shandor and the Gozer cult from the original movie when I was a kid.
I would have liked Melody to have had some kind of way to get closure so she could move onwards rather than it just being so easy, but thats just me.

Know it's unlikely, but you should do a "Let's Play"of the 2009 video game of "Ghostbusters"(which I and many consider "Ghostbusters 3"). Has the original cast and everything(including Harold Ramis before his passing). Even has the team going against the Librarian Ghost.

Ooh, nice shirt, Tim. Shiny. I skipped all the Ghostbusters movie after the first one due to hating Venkman very much, he's definitely a relic of the 80s.
My favorite is Extreme Ghostbusters anyway, it has that charming 90s representation. It's less in your face than 2010s representation.
Funnily, the 90s also has a trend of Kiddifying characters which the 2010s repeated except they went with Babyfying instead.

It is not a horrible movie, but it takes its good time before it gets to the point. The opening sequence is great, the final fight is decent, but the middle part is rather plodding and verbose -- and by that I don't mean the middle third, but rather the middle three fifths.
Also, I have the feeling that we were supposed to take away more from Melody's interactions with Phoebe than what the movie manages to communicate. Apparently the director spoke of "two souls connecting" and this being "the beating heart of the story." I just see a couple of teenagers who have a few fairly trivial conversations, and then we are suddenly expected to believe that they are now such close friends that Phoebe is willing to let her soul be sucked out of her body just to be on the same plane as Melody for all of two minutes.
So-o-o much time is spent building up the importance of this darn "sphere" which of course contains a horrible evil which we know is bound to escape and wreak havoc. It almost feels anticlimactic when it finally happens. The escape of Garraka should have occurred around the half-way point, not 30 minutes before the end.
Walter Peck is underused. Him coming back after 40 years to finally have his revenge on the Ghostbusters could have been a great sub-plot. Instead he sometimes seems like the most sensible person around, as when he points out to the group that child labor is actually both illegal and unethical. You just DON'T have a minor hanging on the side of a car firing an incredibly powerful ray-weapon.
Frozen Empire is good, but I wish it didn`t have too many actors.

I enjoyed this Sequel 🤍🤍 sure it wasn’t as Awesome as the first one or Afterlife but I still found it enjoyable like the second Ghostbusters 😊 I loved all of the characters interacting with each other it was probably the best part of the movie for me. I enjoyed the new ones as well, The new story was good and the new villain was alright too. Thanks for the reaction Tim I was excited for this one 😊😁😉

Plus, hopefully in the next Ghostbusters movie They have to add like Luigi or they have to make like a live action Luigi’s mansion it would totally be cool because then it would make me say. Aw but this time they have to use the voice actor that they did for Luigi. and I was really hoping for a live action, Mario movie plus that’s why if that wouldn’t b minus and a quarter plus I like upcoming up with cool movies for you to watch not just other movies that I think would be really good like the Mario movie and detective Pikachu is another good live action movie even though it was supposed to be the Pokémon movie and then we were supposed to have the Pokémon two movie this year but I think that they changed it because people wanted more like of a mystery. Maybe you never know what that last question though.
Well, since Afterlife was such a success, it only makes sense to make another sequel. Not only does this bring back the original cast again, it also brings back ghosts from the original like Slimer. It’s just so great to return to the franchise where busting makes you feel good. (Sry, I had to.)

Plus, they only did a couple things that was wrong with this movie because they didn’t bring back the girl oh gees like from Ghostbusters three and also, it was supposed to be more of like one of those scary movies or one of those movies that would make you say aw but only at the end then it just got like super scary so it was more than one of those movies like at first that made you say aw but only in the middle they were supposed to make it more of like one of those movies like that you mixed with Winnie the Pooh and tigger tooo I was kind of hoping for like one of those movies just for like more awesomeness, kind of if that makes sense but that’s OK. That’s why I give this movie a C minus and a quarter
The girls from the 2016 movie aren’t part of this universe. They were an attempt at a reboot. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” was the actual Ghostbusters 3 and this one is Ghostbusters 4.
I think the next movie that you should watch is the Flintstones live action movie though The second one is way better though plus some of the other movies that I’ve mentioned as well just for the fun of it though
PS I know that you have never seen love and the big balloon adventure as well and that’s also another one that you should think about watching next as well and I still don’t know if they made it any other ones all I remember is about that one it’s about where they go on a quest two catch five magical balloons 🎈

Well this film showed us that, even when they created a remake that was heavily disliked, doesn’t mean every movie sequel will be a success.
I’m confused
But it was a success… had a budget of $100 million and it made $200 million, meaning it made a profit meaning it was a success. It is currently the 9th highest grossing movie of 2024 and at least 5 more sequels are planned. It is also the second highest grossing of the franchise after the first one.
First time in my life to be glad an add stopped me from seeing a video. Anybody else agrees?

I guess I'll be that guy that really didn't like this movie at all and am a little mad I actually bought it. I am old enough to have watched them all when they came out. Highest respects for Ivan and Harold along with the surviving cast. It just lacked passion and pizzazz, I really don't know how else to put it. The first one had the Gozer story, Vigo in the second one and a nice updated nod back to Gozer in the third. The bad guy in this is cardboard and forgettable. Besides the nostalgia, the only unique facet to this movie was the Melody character. I liked the idea of elevated ghost interaction and how the character acting was done. Superb job. That's it, that's the only memorable item. For anyone that loved the movie, cool, no shade thrown at ya, it wasn't my intent. Just for me personally, it get's an F.
