    Great tutorial!!! It's the ear not the gear I love how you don't sweat the small stuff. My question is where did you find the Spike Stent video where he talks about this? I love reading about him

    in your opinion, is the waves version better to your ears? it was to mine

      In this example I liked it better. In other mixes, I prefer the Chandler.

    Unfortunately the waves abbey road mastering plugin produces a lot of aliasing and is totally clean (no saturation) as you would expect from the originals. Referencing Paul Thirds test and white noise studio.

      Definitely a clean EQ, but the compressor sounds great on room mics, aliasing or not.

      I like compression better. Saturation is great, but it won't add length to the drum hits like heavy compression does.
