    Interesting how you suffer from a case of doublethink in this video yourself.

    I came here to understand doublespeak/doublethink and you actually are using it for your political bias, bravo !!!! now I see how it is used perfectly to lie with out lying. thank you . I hope that was your intention ? That you are the one using doublespeak/doublethink?

      May I ask how they are using doublethink/speak

      @@cajdoesstuff9454 if you can't see it then you don't understand the concept if double speak.. Try actually reading 1984 to understand. In this video as he is explaining what it is as he is using it to push his ideology at the same time.

      Specific to this video is they went from Hitler to Trump making a evil connection in your mind, then spent half the video on Trump ? trying to convince you to see a connection . Using a questionable statement and only pulling clips out of context of the entire statement and pictures that were proven to be not during the event. Double talk is far more effective when you have a majority of news outlets spewing the same thing. For example, more recent that Cuomo was pushed as such a great leader for NY during the pandemic? verses what we know now, but their are many that still think that because the same media that gloried him everyday, spent no time to very little about him after or his brother Chris that help though CNN to cover.

      Can you please explain what you mean by "He using it for his own political bias" my English is not my first language and it is difficult for me to discern between what is true and what is doubletalk/doublethink

    People who insist on being on both sides of the fence at the same time---that's doublespeak. Classic example, 'I believe in science and religion.' 'Evasive' is the word for people who refuse to answer the most basic clarifying questions. In the book 1984, what was the name of Smith's country?----Doublespeakland.

      You used a terrible example.
      A lot of religious individuals don't consider science and religion to be mutually exclusive. There may be certain parts they don't fully believe in on either side but the sentence is definitely not an example of doublespeak.
      Doublespeak is when you say something to intentionally mislead or deceive

    • @arthurwieczorek4894
      @arthurwieczorek4894 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dedition There are seventy-six synonyms for intentionally misled. In my own mind I am pulling 'doublespeak' out of that list to mean something different. Close but different. To an atheist like me, to hear people who don't consider science and religion mutually exclusive talk out of both sides of their mouths is doublespeak. One thing contradicts the other. They are, or may not, be doing it to deceive. That is not the focus. The focus is on the underlying basic contradiction of position and the problem of how to expose that situation.

    • @Somebody2687
      @Somebody2687 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Arthur Wieczorek You are both wrong and so is the video. Double speak as portrayed in 1984 has nothing to do with misleading anyone. It is the concept that a person can hold 2 contradictory beliefs simultaneously and suppress cognitive dissonance. Also religion and science aren't mutually exclusive, either you haven't studied the argument or you are being disingenuous.

    • @arthurwieczorek4894
      @arthurwieczorek4894 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Somebody2687 What you said about doublespeak is exactly, foundationally correct. It is only a small extention of that to see doublespeak as sowing confusion. Being on both sides of an issue at the same time, that's holding two contradictory ideas at the same time. Granted you ofter have to dig, interpret a little bit to explicitly show the contradiction. Doublespeak, of the kind I am most interested in, is, on the surface, single speak. But words have implications. Doublespeak is 'I believe this, but that necessary implication of what I said, I deny '. This is one of the elements of obcurantic discourse.

    • @arthurwieczorek4894
      @arthurwieczorek4894 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Somebody2687 I believe science and religion are mutually exclusive on a deep level. I do not mean a person could not be a scientist and be religious at the same time. Science presupposes a natural world. Religion presupposes a supernatural world. In my mind that is a flat contradiction.
