If you come to Cambodia next time, please dont forget to visit Mondulkiri (Highland scenic), Kratie (famous for its graceful dolphin) , Kampong Speu (Kirirom National Park and Khnang Phsa Mountain ) and Koh Kong (mangrove forests). The best time to visit is between November and January; however, we have an important holiday in November which is Bon Om Touk (Water festival, 26 Nov - 28 Nov 2023).
Wow, yes! I’d love to go back in November 🤩 let’s see if it’s doable for us. Thank you!

True story. Cheers

Absolutely, it happens even in some Western countries. Being cautious all the time when traveling.

Hi Chai, i’ve been watching and enjoying your videos as I contemplate a trip to Laos and Cambodia. I think you are doing a very good job. However, after at least eight videos, I still have no idea of what “Stay champ” means. Is it an original phrase that you coined? (I mean, I know what the word, champ means, obviously, but I’ve never heard it in the phrase, stay champ)
Thanks for checking in 😁 haha I can see the confusion about “stay champ”. It more like a catchphrase. I do use the word champ for a long while now. Stay champ I normally just used between my mates. It’s basically means; stay on top of it/ keep winning in life/ be the best :)

Just from all the videos I've seen - I have to give Seim Reap the edge - at least from afar. -- Perhaps visiting in person could persuade me differently ? Although it would take some doing because being retired and old - Siem Reap just fits & it's really nice to my liking & it's really cheap ! --- Many more English speakers too supposedly ? --- The more that leave and stay gone - the cheaper it will be for those that remain - which is good news for all of them. Perhaps me too - if I go ?
Thanks!

Hi Cambodian here from Sydney 👋 we don’t have beef with Thai people! They have beef with us, what we are doing is defending ourselves, there’s a difference and lot of education people will know that.
Hi hi, they, thanks for watching from down under 🦘 not everyone is the same and luckily there are more Thai people talking good about Cambodia then you probably know of :)

@@Chai_TravelMost of us, I bet, desire a peaceful life. However, I hold a tiny group of individuals accountable who want to profit financially and/or politically from the cultural conflicts; in particular, some unethical social media content producers and netizens. We inherited the culture from people who lived in the region and nearby regions, making it difficult to pinpoint the origin of many things without solid evidence. The tourists come and go.
In Cambodia, you can find peace of mind if you are peaceful. If you want to stay forever, you won't have any problems. In a decade, Cambodia will surpass many great countries in all good aspects. They are moving in the right direction. Like their leader, I advise the citizens to remain calm and calculated.

China ruins everything it touches and Cambodia is buried already in failed Chinese projects and debt. Cambodia will not advance as quickly as SE Asian countries that are free of Chinese influence.

8:09 Thiago did not just had a combodian flag. He praised Kun Kamar and insulted Muay Thai eventhough he was trained by Muay Thai long before Kun Kamae. So let's get that fact staight.
there's no competition between Cambodia and Thailand... if anything, the 2 countries share a co-dependent relationship... it's the Khmer and Thai "keyboard warriors" who have problems with one another. No respectable Khmers and Thais would have beef with each other. :) Also, if you're ever in Cambodia again and wanna try real Cambodian dishes (like region-specific Khmer food or the authentic dish with no fusion like in many mainstream restaurant) I can show you around. Without France or colonialism There will be no problems with Thailand and Cambodia. Probably Cambodia be part of Siam to this day. no division or hate each other.
But to your point, yes… there would be no overt conflict or hate between Thai and Khmer or Viet and Khmer if the French did not step in because the Khmer people would have to officially assimilate into either being Thai or Vietnamese.
You are so wrong lol. Thai or Siamese don't know how to direct control or incorporate land and population under their rule. They just demand tribute or respect that's all 😂. Now the Khmers dominated the whole Thailand directly. In other words, Thailand should be incorporated by us Khmers again and all Thais can now claim Angkor wat is part of their country called Cambodia. 😂
@@imperialkhmer6146 LOL. Cambodia knows how to cooperate with France? That's why your country is poor dirt and becomes beggars on the streets in Bangkok
@@imperialkhmer6146 lol delusional comment
@@peena5408 I think u are the delusional one. Real facts 😂
I believe the thing with Thai dates back to during the Siam, which is modern Thai, invading Cambodia and taking their territories. Much of Thailand today was originally Cambodia.
Thai is more so a modern, contemporary Cambodia as their culture and religion are almost the same, except the spoken language. The arts in Thai like the Apsara dance might look similar to Khmer’s but they lost the true meanings. In ancient Khmer apsara dance, the hand gestures is a language of its own and it tells a story through that language via dance. Thai’s version only captures the aesthetics of the dance and its costumes without grounded of a language and story.
As far as cuisines, Khmer cuisines are balanced and symbolize a reflection of the environment of that we’re living in - their belief is that we’re one with nature of Earth and so our bodies should consume with what surrounds us. Thai cuisines do not integrate this core aspects, but instead offers what is pleasing, both visually and taste, which tends to be sweet and spicy because they arouse our senses.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and angle of this topic. Hopefully everyone is now able to look to the future and be lovely to each other ❤️ thanks for watching again
How did Thai take over Cambodia territory again? Last time I check they only demand tributes
คนป่าไม่มีเคยมีวัฒนธรรมเลิกอ้างไร้สาระสักที
@@imperialkhmer6146 From the history literatures I read, after the great Khmer civilization began to decline, the Siam were able to invade what wasn’t called Cambodia back then. They saw the beauty of the Apsara royal dancers and took them as prisoners. They believed a person is worthy if they possess one or more of these, either beauty, wealth, or intellect - which that’s what they kept from the original Khmer civilization, its arts, beauty, and wealth.
@@mikewhocheeseharry5292 invade doesn't mean direct control. Invade in this case just means sack or loot the city and then left everything back to normal. Get it? For example, the barbarians looted and sack Rome. Did they directly control Rome?

@@Chai_Travel I am Thai, if you have that shirt You can wear that shirt. We Thai people don't care. is your right We are not attached to the past. Not attached to the name either. There are many cities in the world. Changing the name according to who will rule Ayutthaya means never defeated. but lost to Myanmar twice Some Thai people's name is Amorn, which means immortal, and do you think he's really immortal?
