Thanks for making this comparison video! I've been considering a new pair of shoes and the Ares is one of the ones I'm considering. I tend to love shoes that have that sock liner bootie feel.
I was talking with someone (I think you know) on our ride today about the new Specialized Ares (he has a pair) and he was raving about the feel vs the previous S7 model... I wish I had waited a few months before dropping more money than two pair of retro Jordans would’ve cost me... that price is... 🤔… painful... LOL.. I hope you do more reviews in the future... I enjoy the no gloss, just the most pertinent info aspect of your review... 🙌🏽
@@CritWhit Seriously, listening to other reviews become an ear pull... Sometimes you just need/want the facts... and not something that sounds like it was written by a staff of PR majors using a thesaurus... 🙌🏽
Just got the ares, tip.. get a shoe horn, once there on they feel truly amazing but the shoe horn really helps, they should come with a shoe horn out of the box!
‘Shoe Horn’ - great idea. That’s something I never thought about due to the materials that were used. Recently mine have been customed and are currently sitting on a shelf. Check out my Instagram and you’ll see the work that was applied.
Picked up the Ares in the red/black pair the first week they came out and been my daily riding shoe. Best road shoes I’ve had in a while as far as comfort, fit and performance. Eager to see what the S-Works 8 will bring.
I think you’re correct about the Varus wedge. If you go to a bike fitter they should be able to put in a shim to offset the Varus built into the Ares shoe. For me it works but it’s not for everyone!
Gotcha, I didn’t have to adjust my saddle height even though there should be room to do so since we will changes shoes from time to time. When I wore both at the same time I didn’t have and other issues except that nuance under ball of foot near pinky toe. 🤝
Awe man...you got it!!! Driving’ the Beamer, rolling the disc Allez, got the new SDBC kit, and with one of the finest helmets & gopros on the market. 🥸
Hahaha, you know what it takes to put these productions together. Just be fortunate I got another video up... where’s your next one? Oh, and throw an Ebony and Ivory in there too!!! 😜
Oh man!!! Thx for the appreciation. Running to AliExpress for some Cycling shoes I’d like doing the same for a bike, groupset, or even handlebars... Gotta be careful. 🤔
The black Imperial has our vote 👀
Totally understood!!! Thx for tuning in. 😎🤝
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude, this is so weird, these shoes are currently on my watch list! Thanks for your input!!
You are absolutely welcomed!!! 🤝
Awesome review mate! Thank you. Ordering from overseas and this video helped. Shot out to Chula Vista. I will be back down there when I am stateside.
Awesome and looking forward to riding with ya when you’re back stateside. 🤝

Absolutely. You will love the sock liner. It’s a little much for me. I’ve had mine customed and now they sit on a shelf. 🤪🤝
Great comparison! They both look like good shoes, thanks for sending some warm weather this way. 😂
And two great shoes they are!!! You’re welcome on the Warm Weather, lol!!! 🤪😎🤩🤝
Sizing: are they the same in both of these? I’m 43 in the S-Works. Would I get 43 in the Imperial?
I'd say, same size but the Imperials are more comfy for everyday riding.
Great Reviews! I wish my SIDIs would have the wheel rub thing haha Thanks CW!
Thx so much and I totally understand. I wish all the shoes would do that - easier management of those scuffs. 🤓

Nice!!!
They’re breaking in every time I wear them. They truly feel more performance enhanced than my Giros. 🤝
Good stuff man. I actually have friends in CV if I ever can make it out there. With my bike of course LoL
Thx bro!!! Oh yeah come on out - so you too can drop me!!! 😜
@@CritWhit You a fool 🤣
Oh you think so... stay tuned!!! 🤪
I think you’re correct about the Varus wedge. If you go to a bike fitter they should be able to put in a shim to offset the Varus built into the Ares shoe.
For me it works but it’s not for everyone!
Also, I think the stack height of the ares is higher than the Giro Imperials, because the imperials have a thinner height sole.

I’m gonna have to look into what they’ll put in the shoe to account for the wedge and that may cause one to have to adjust saddle height. 🤔
What a great review. Covered areas I wouldn’t have thought of but are important, like toe overlap. Well done mate.
Great review Bruh👍🏾
Thx so much!!! 🤝
I want the ARES so bad but the price is SO SPICY!

@@CritWhit Hahaha, precisely why the ARES is too expensive. I went and spent all my chips on the whips and kits!
@@WaltDoesBikes Hahaha, oh okay!!! Once your money tree flourishes again I know you’ll be all over them. 😜
@@CritWhit working on getting the money printer up and running now. When it’s fully in service though there may be a big secret in store
Hahaha...I feel ya!!! Just pass me the real bills while you work the fake ones, lol!!! 😎🤓
WHIIIITTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Really disappointed that there wasn't an ebony & ivory joke in there hahahahaha!
