The supposed comfort and tendon relief sounds very interesting, as I at times can develop some stiffness on the lateral side of my upper ankle/lower calf with my 7's. Unfortunately I can't say I'm a major fan of the look of the shoe either.
They BOAs on the S-Works 7 were specific to Specialized. Specialized took on feedback from people that used those and now these BOAS are more standard and have a much better construction.

@@sigmasports As a buyer it's one of the main things I need to know before purchasing and it surprises me just how many reviewers don't show them on. Practically all cycling review sites follow the same format, ex. shoes on a table with reviewer talking, which is fine but it's a huge negative if I can't see what they look like on and if possible while cycling. Just take a look at some of the other sport footwear channels ('soccer reviews for you' etc) and you'll see they all have sections where the boot is worn and tested so it might be worth taking a look for ideas. Anyway, thanks for getting back that was a nice touch!

Glad to see they addressed the 1 thing I don't like about the Sworks-7 shoes with the tendon relief in the ares!
The Road 7 look 100x better and are way cheaper...

All the BOA's failed on my S Works 7's. All over a 3 week period.
