    It seems a bit harsh to put the Bradford stadium thing at #15.
    As far as I'm aware, smoking wasn't prohibited in stadiums at the time so it was more of a safety issue that was always bound to happen until laws were changed and stadium safety was improved upon.

    • @joannedj1
      @joannedj1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Agree. The Bradford Fire was, sadly, a disaster waiting to happen. Years of accumulated litter under a huge wooden stand. Loads of people smoked in those days and it was an accidentally-dropped match or cig which started the fire. I wouldn’t class it as anyone being a moron.
      I remember watching it happen on TV. BBC’s Grandstand had sent an outside broadcast unit to Valley Parade as Bradford had won Division 3 and were to be presented with their trophy. Sadly, a day that was supposed to be a celebration became a tragedy just before half time.

    Top 3 (In my opinion):
    1. Malice at the Palice
    2. NFL Snowball Battle
    3. State of origin's moment of no silence
    It seems the situations gets worse when more people get involved with them. However, no doubt Malice at the Palace was one of the worst things to see in sports history, it takes only one prick to set the arena into madness, if only he didn't throw that water bottle. The snowball battle had an interesting fight but also dangerous, leading to the refs to threat the crowd, which that's never happened before. And the no silence one was so uncalled for, it's almost as brutal as fans getting into fights. At this rate they're going to need more security than before.

If the ball had come down a foot to the left or right, then it would have been one of those other anonymous suckers who would have gotten all the death threats. The fact that his life was pretty much ruined over the whole thing is absolutely shameful. The real culprit was the Cubs themselves, who proceeded to fuck everything up that was possible to fuck up, and then fuck it all up again in game 7
      Technically that game was ruined by morons, but the moron in question was not Steve Bartman. The 2003 Cubs were the morons.

    Cool adding Olympique de Marseille to the list but you trivialized what happened to Payet.
    It was the 3rd consecutive away game where our players were attacked/assaulted by “fans” (Montpellier-OM; Nice-OM; Lyon-OM)

      However, in this case it’s really imbeciles having access to public events. I won’t call them fans, targeting Olympique de Marseille players for simply playing for a “rival” team. OM-Lyon is a rivalry, sure, as the top Olympiques of Ligue 1, and nothing more can be expected from Lyon fans, but the other times our players were attacked they had no reason (Marseille, Montpellier and Nice are neighboring cities)

It slipped through a hole in the floorboard.” So you’re wrong, the cigarette slipped down through the stand, it was not deliberately thrown under.

    • @bloodwolfgaming9269
      @bloodwolfgaming9269 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uh, there's a bit more to the story than "just a bad call by the ref". What happened is the referee got into a heated confrontation with a player after the player refused to leave the field and got physical with the ref. The ref retaliated by stabbing the player, who died on the way to the hospital. In response, the fans stormed the field and stoned the referee before cutting his head off and staking it to the middle of the pitch.
      So, it wasn't due to a bad call. The ref and the player got into it, the player got physical with the ref. The ref stabbed the player who later died and so the fans stormed the field and lynch-mobbed the ref and brutally killed and beheaded him right there on the pitch.

    There aren't too many instances where I have sympathy for the former Ron Artest. He is/was a hotheaded man child bully who happened to play basketball.
    However, for that particular incident. I don't blame Artest. He actually made a conscious choice to stop fighting (albeit a strange way of doing it). The situation was beginning to deescalate. Then came the cup. Everyone who was there says the same thing, "We saw the cup flying...We saw where it was going to land ...and all we could say to ourselves was OH NO!!!". That cup broke all the chill that Artest had at that moment, and he broke out like an animal.

    The match was replayed in an empty stadium a month later where AZ won.
    Another thing about the 2015 FAI Cup final. It was a double header with the Women's cup final taking place before the men's cup final.
    The womens match went to extra time and then penalties. By then it was the warm up period for the mens final taking place afterwards. Cork City players began warming up while the penalty shootout was ongoing

After Ireland scored a goal 20 minutes, idiotic English fans started chanting "no surrender to the IRA," and then started hauling seats and other projectiles they could get their hands on, down from the upper stand (where much of the English fans were located) down to an area where mostly Irish fans were gathered. Pleas to end the madness fell upon deaf ears and the match ended up being abandoned. To make matters worse, English "fans" were pictured cheering about their stupid behaviour, for playing a big role in the game being abandoned
