Hi Bill, Now I don’t know if anybody else has made this comment yet (sorry if they have ) but I feel like you should know the full story of Jack’s song. (Again - sorry if you already know). The song, as you know, was written about Jack Graham (cavetown’s best friend) who sadly passed on April 16, 2016 due to leukaemia. Jack was Robin’s first best friend and were neighbours until the age of 8. Robin said in an interview “... We used to play pretty much every day. We even built a bridge out of tree stumps which we used to climb over the fence between our gardens”. The first time I heard this song, I was honestly the same as you. I cried so hard because the song was just so painful and the more I listened, I realised that I continued to cry every time I heard it, however, they weren’t sad, painful tears anymore - they were tears of joy and relief. Please don’t call me heartless, for I have good reason. This song isn’t necessarily a sad song. The way I now see it, the song wasn’t meant to be a painful ballad about two friends parting as one unfortunately loses his life too soon. I see it as more of a tribute to Jack, for Jack (hence the name Jack’s song). As he said in the lyrics, “it’s not goodbye, just see you later.” I personally believe that this is a song about making the best thing possible out of the worst imaginable thing. I think this song is about Robbie learning to live in the moment, love everyone and is really about him learning from Jack - as someone Robbie was inspired by. “In Jack’s last Facebook post before he passed, he said he hoped everyone would ‘have good ones’. He just wanted his friends to be happy, which is why one of the lyrics in his song says “I’ll have a good one till then, just like you told me”. I have learnt so much from this song, from Robbie, and from Jack ( even though I never met him or knew him) and I hope everyone can learn the one thing portrayed the most in this song - never take anything for granted because you just don’t know what might happen tomorrow. Dysphoric hits hard for me, because I myself have tried to take my life before, from dysphoria, and uncomfort, as a young trans man. I love your reactions, Cavetown is a serious way for me to get my emotions out, and I treasure watching other people start to move in the same direction. When you said "you miss being around things that are familiar" when talking abt I miss my mum that like hit me. I'm a very social person and I rely on my friends to keep me going. But having to stay home and be away from them these past weeks has taken its toll on my mental state. I just don't feel like myself anymore. I miss being around those people everyday. 16/04/16 is such an important album for me. I was 15 at the time, it was my favorite and got me thought some very bad times. It's weird to hear the songs now and remember how I felt back then. The whole album is a masterpiece thought and has so many mind-blowing tracks. Fond memories from live streams of him playing these songs for us. the whole album was dedicated to Jack and he donated part of the profits to a cancer foundation.

I love Green and I've been struggling with something that relates to the song. when you said that Jack's song sounded different to his other music, it's not only that, the entire 16/04/16 album has a very different atmosphere and style that kind of came out of nowhere considering his earlier music that's why it's my favorite album ever and nobody else even knows it exists (or at least they aren't as vocal about it as they are about lemon boy, sleepyhead, or cavetown)
The way you interpret “Green” is exactly how I see it, it took me a while to interpret the metaphor but once I understood it it melted my heart, the story is emotional and incredibly well put together, I always hold this song and this video close to my heart, it’s a great story and it relates to a lot of peoples stories ❤️

Dysphoria is one of my favorite cavetown songs to sing just because I feel there’s no real right or wrong way to sing it. You just sing it, you don’t have to worry about getting specific notes right because it’s supposed to sound off, it’s supposed to sound like you. I know that probably doesn’t make sense but that’s just how I feel about it. P.S. I like how you said cry for support instead of cry for help, it just made it seem more humble and nice...because usually you use the term “Cry for help” during a dire situation and it can be a bit overwhelming but “cry for support” just seems calming, fitting. Like it doesn’t need to be fast or urgent go at your own pace. Ya that’s all I have to say.
LukeWarmLava they broke up to follow their own personal projects. James felt it was unfair to Dan to be in a band that A. Has James as the front and centre, leaving Dan’s talents to go unnoticed, B. Be in a band where every song is personally about James and James’ experiences, and C. The boys started changing their styles and it just wasnt working. Crywank itself is over (and my heart bleeds, I Followed them through australia on their first tour, and then again last year on their final tour. 16/04/16 is such an important album for me. I was 15 at the time, it was my favorite and got me thought some very bad times. It's weird to hear the songs now and remember how I felt back then. The whole album is a masterpiece thought and has so many mind-blowing tracks. Fond memories from live streams of him playing these songs for us.

I love Green and I've been struggling with something that relates to the song. when you said that Jack's song sounded different to his other music, it's not only that, the entire 16/04/16 album has a very different atmosphere and style that kind of came out of nowhere considering his earlier music
that's why it's my favorite album ever and nobody else even knows it exists (or at least they aren't as vocal about it as they are about lemon boy, sleepyhead, or cavetown)
The way you interpret “Green” is exactly how I see it, it took me a while to interpret the metaphor but once I understood it it melted my heart, the story is emotional and incredibly well put together, I always hold this song and this video close to my heart, it’s a great story and it relates to a lot of peoples stories ❤️
I've seen all of these and cried for them and re seen them and didn't think i would cry anymore but your reactions made me remember crying to them for the first time.

Dysphoria is one of my favorite cavetown songs to sing just because I feel there’s no real right or wrong way to sing it. You just sing it, you don’t have to worry about getting specific notes right because it’s supposed to sound off, it’s supposed to sound like you. I know that probably doesn’t make sense but that’s just how I feel about it.
P.S. I like how you said cry for support instead of cry for help, it just made it seem more humble and nice...because usually you use the term “Cry for help” during a dire situation and it can be a bit overwhelming but “cry for support” just seems calming, fitting. Like it doesn’t need to be fast or urgent go at your own pace. Ya that’s all I have to say.

I love that he isnt trying to hide how he feels while listening to it and he doesnt hide the fact that the song will make him cry.

LukeWarmLava they broke up to follow their own personal projects. James felt it was unfair to Dan to be in a band that A. Has James as the front and centre, leaving Dan’s talents to go unnoticed, B. Be in a band where every song is personally about James and James’ experiences, and C. The boys started changing their styles and it just wasnt working. Crywank itself is over (and my heart bleeds, I Followed them through australia on their first tour, and then again last year on their final tour. They have not played a single show in my country that i didnt fly to see.), BUT, like i said, the boys are still working on their own personal music endeavours so keep an ear out :)
