- In today's episode of Unfiltered Stories, Tanisha Bankston generously shares her profound journey of resilience and reclaiming her power. Growing up in a challenging family environment, Tanisha faced multiple betrayals of trust from those who should have protected her. When she found the courage to disclose these painful experiences to her family, she was met with disbelief rather than the support she needed.
At a young age, Tanisha faced the life-altering impact of an unplanned pregnancy resulting from the actions of someone close to her family. Despite the immense challenges she encountered, Tanisha ultimately broke her silence after nearly three decades. She channeled her experiences into a powerful self-published book, "My Pain Is My Power," as a testament to her strength and resilience. Join us in holding space for Tanisha's inspiring story with empathy and respect.

Listening to what this young lady is saying, I am really sorry for her. I know that kind of things happened to little children, but when I know that she was up to it. Because she said that the guy sex her with condom and, went she tried to have sexual intercourse without condom and. She say no,that how I strongly believe that she was old enough to know what was going on. She could have runaway from her family and, someone would take her in.she sounds like a very bad girl, we know that some of the parents are very cruel to their children, ok.
😊😊😊😊😊😊n
STOP LEAVING KIDS UNATTENDED WITH STRANGE MEN, & women‼️‼️‼️‼️
Exactly
They don't care these are throw away children
DNT forget to not leave them with family either 😮😢...ppl are truly sick 😢😢😢
@@CookingwithBG Them too!!!
Right where was her mom…
I will NEVER understand why people don’t believe children! There’s no reason for them to make these things up! Believe them and STOP enabling these predators. Also stop letting whoever around your kids.
Because ADULTS ARE A PROBLEM OF THE PLANET… that’s why
Facts! 99% of kids do NOT lie about abuse. I will side with alleged victim before the accused.
So, they don’t have to accept responsibility.
If they believed her, they would have to take action. They would no longer have deniability. They don't believe black girls are worth anything, especially dark skin toned black girls.
And how can they even make up something so detailed if they were never exposed to it ? It literally makes no sense why parents won't even explore what their children are saying 😞
When she said “none of them got charged, it’s like I got charged” I felt that!!! So much!
💔 I felt the same too😢
It was so horrific having to live through that 😢
It feel just like that 😞
Poor tanisha her childhood was truly stolen from her my heart breaks for her many people failed her 😢
Naw they didn't failed her they set her up.. They encouraged it to happen.
The families that let this stuff happen to kids and know have a special place in hell and need to be charged 🤦🏽♀️
Our community really needs to look at itself and realize how we're damaging our children.
You mean our little Black girls.
And be honest, we see who’s doing it. BM are the violent animals doing it.
All communities not just ours
@@kashawnwardlaw9668 we're just starting to even acknowledge that it's not "something that white people do" in their families and that it's happening in our community and families too. And I believe in taking care of home first.
All communities‼️this is such a misconception and needs to stop. Thank Goodness victims are coming forward.
@@Nille0212 EXACTLY!! We need to worry about US and fix US. I get so tired of every time I mention something about OUR community the person deflects and says it happens with everyone. I DO NOT care about everyone else! I care about US!
People who don’t believe children when they say they are being abused are one of the worst people to exist
And what’s crazy is most of them have been abused themselves!!
proof
💯💯💯
Raped at 5 ?? 😞 Looking at family members this age and that's mind boggling and heart breaking
The family should not have left her with the family friend. It's hard for children because adults don't watch their children the way that they should.
They didn't leave her there so he could babysit they just carelessly left her behind and didn't make sure everybody was out the house and didn't care
The whole family is fucked up
I agree@@scorpiocara6798
It is sad and disgusting how there are so many sin sick perverts in the world. And people who don't believe children when they tell them about being assaulted. God bless her
and men who are allowed to do as they please... it's mostly men in positions of power + they make the rules to benefit themselves and want to keep it that way
I wish I could hug her.
Me too 😢😢😢 Continue to share your story it’s POWERFUL AND NEED TO BE SHARED. You are helping so many children and parents out there. Stay strong my sister.❤
My daughter was molested by her dad and its so sad and upsetting how many ppl thought she was lying its disgusting im so grateful youre healing it gives me hope for my daughter ❤
Wow that's crazy
Did he get prosecuted how old was she, how did u find out
@@scorpiocara6798 She told me 4months after it happened this was very recent, so the case is under investigation and I currently have her in therapy she is 12
Thank you for believing your daughter over a man💪🏽
You should go to the police he is dangerous smh
So sorry that happened to your daughter, especially from the person who is supposed to protect and love Not hurt her😢 Sending 🙌💐
How the hell he didn't get arrested after she told?! This is why it happens omg
The system failed her. Her family failed her. But by Gods grace, she’s still here.
The system will most likely fail you, family can’t
@@exxtraterestial family can and will fail you. Didn’t you hear when she said she told her mama when she first got raped and mama didn’t do anything. And from then on no matter how many times it happened, she didn’t say anything because no one believed her and no one did anything.
Tanisha, you are a powerhouse. I’m so sorry that an entire network of villages failed you. Let me say, 35 WHERE?! You are a beautiful beacon of light. I’d give you a good 23 or 24. I’m overjoyed that you are healing. You are writing. And that you’re getting closer to God. Your voice is no longer muted because your inner child is now a microphone for abuse survivors who feel alone. You’re exactly right. Your pain, our pain, is power. God bless you in your advocacy work. Nations of abuse survivors will be healed because of you.
Yes ,I thought she was in her 20's,that mean that it's tons of light at the end of her tunnel and by her sharing her story is very cleansing 🙌
What an awful time she's had.
Shame on those men and others who didn't protect her.
I hope she has a better future ahead. ❤
This poor baby 😢. I hope you find peace and healing. It's terrible in our community how people will label these victims as "being fast" like these are kids, how do they know about being fast or wanting to be sexual active.
proof
We’re from the same city and I remember this happening to her . She was always a sweet timid girl and not talking g down on her family but most of them were like alcoholics and stuff . I remember a bunch of drunk men and stuff use to hang around their house . They really failed her and I remember her cousin husband getting her pregnant when she was barely a teen and he’s still out living his life . Poor tanisha she didn’t deserve any of wat happened to her because I promise she has always been this sweet
🤯🤯🤯 How's he still walking?
This is so tragic, may this beautiful young lady heal. 💛💛
I am mind blown on why he didn't go to jail for this. Even after all the DNA testing. Him being in his 30s when she was still a child.
You’re an amazing survivor! I wish you the best in life that you never have when you’re little.
The worst predators are your own family or someone close to you. 😡👹😭
This is HORRIFIC! 😢 How come nobody believed her?!?
How was she molested by several people and over years?!
Did the predators sense something from her that they would be able to abuse her and she wouldn’t say anything?!
I think they look for isolated or withdrawn children or children who are not supervised. A few pedophiles who have been interviewed say they choose kids without much family support.
Right exactly how did all these men know to rape her? I have heard of being raped by one man but it's so many men raping her. People have to watch their kids so sick stuff like this doesn't happen.
She said she was mute so those perverts knew to target her. SMH
Because her mother allowed that man to touch her.
Yes they do. Predator know and can smell weakness. They also target kids with broken home looking for validation.
The fact that he didn’t go to prison or die is insane .
Sigh this is so inspiring!! Im a male and i was molested by my uncle, he was so manipulating. he had me questioning my own brain but i can remember him telling my mom he's taking me with him to run errands and him telling me "act normal" when we got back. Its so triggering when i see him especially seeing as he has 4 kids i pray he doesn't do to his kids what he did to me my cousins and my siblings.
Thank you for sharing, you are so courageous!
It's never too late to speak out and share your truth.💛💛💛
One of the strongest and resilient women on earth since she was 14 years old, and knew that her unborn had nothing to do with the crime that happened to her.
This woman was severely failed.... God bless her .. Keep talking about it love... Everytime the words hits the air, it loses it power... Stay strong warrior 🙏💪✊❤️ From Upstate NY
Tanisha im so sorry that you had such a traumatic childhood i hope that someday you will heal you deserve happiness and peace in your life you are a survivor
Shame on those adults for not protecting you. Shame on those grown and discussing men. I’m sorry you had to endure that.
Thank you for sharing.
I know her……But never knew this happened to her Tanisha I’m so sorry this happened to you 😮Thank God you survived to tell your story!
So many people in this woman’s life did not protect her..this is devastating
So sorry you were abused and mistreated, Tanisha. Then, to add insult to injury, you weren’t believed or supported from such a young age-when the proof was right there. Thank God you were able to survive so many years and instances of that, and are now providing much needed support to others. God bless you, angel.♥️
My God. Her family & the system failed her horribly! 🥺💔
what the fuck! i can't believe how anyone can disregard a child's plea for help. 5 years old! How evil can you be to abuse a child like that!
I’m so sorry this happened to you! Thank you for sharing your story. My cousins boyfriend (Larry Sanders) molested me in June of 2021 and I’m still healing.
Im sorry this happened to you it’s still fresh and don’t let anyone rush your healing process. It also happened to me by my father. TBH I’m still healing ❤️🩹 I will pray for you. Stay strong God is with you never feel like your alone. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💛

Molested? You mean rapped. Sorry you went through this.
You have come so far. You are beautiful. As a survivor myself my heart goes to you. I know how the flashbacks are abd how it affects your relationships with people. They will get their punishment. Much love Tanisha 🖤💕🖤💕🖤💕
Everyone… EVERYONE FAILED YOU. But you are so well spoken and have a beautiful voice. May god bless you.
Tanisha, I wish I could give you a hug right now because this is so heartbreaking to hear. My love goes out to you. ❤️
This goes on alot more in the black community and badly needs to be addressed.
What a beautiful soul. I’m sorry for everything she’s been through
He will not get away with that. God sees everything.
How could she go through all of that at the hospital and no one believed her????
How could anyone not believe a 5 year old child?
Poor girl. If they don't repent God will hold them accountable. Jesus can heal you. 🙏
I agree and she had the physical trauma which was found when she was taken to the hospital and they did nothing, no police were called, I just can't believe how nobody did anything! Her mom who had her taken to the hospital by the ambulance, or the hospital staff once they examined her and saw her in that condition! I am lost for words.
My heart goes out to you baby may God bless you Tanisha❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your story! Please stay strong!
She was unprotected!! No one believed her & thats just sad. So many predators took advantage of her. Parents stop leaving your children unattended. May God 🙏🏾 continue to bring her peace, strength, and joy in her life. Thanks for sharing your story because it could encourage other girls to speak out who have had similar experiences. This is more common than people realize.
I’m so sorry you endured this kind of abuse and torture 🙏🏾🙏🏾😭😭😭
This is the reason I don’t condemn ppl; prostitutes; drug addicts, domestic violence survivors etc, ppl are living with a lot of trauma 🙏🏾🥰💕
Iknow so many... My aunt died at 53 was drug addict at 14 after leaving home to get away from my GMA boyfriend
@@cocobernard6634 god bless her soul🙏🏾
I’m soo proud of you, thank God for peace in your life now
This is so upsetting these young girls are being treated like this by family friends, family and neighbours its disgusting your family are turning a blind eye and excepting this tragic abuse.
These BM victimize little Black girls _all the time_ !!!
You can’t tell me these Black women didn’t know this 💩 was happening🤬🤬🤬
I hope everything works out for that young lady. I will support and buy her book. Blessings!
I don't know how she can go on in life.. she's standing so strong for so many women out there that have been through living hell like her.. she's an amazing person. I'm very happy she found her way.. ❤
This is so heartbreaking 😢😢😢
The system constantly fails us all.
Wonderful Outcome! My heart goes out to the little girl that had to deal with so much heartache at a young age❤️! Everyone failed her, those men deserve life! I’m beyond grateful for this young woman sharing her story❤️❤️❤️🫶🏽❤️🙏🏽
Beautiful story I can definitely relate with you Tanisha when you said your abuser wasn't charged with the crime ,well the system did the same exact BS to me I was a 8 year old little boy turning 9 my abuser was 20 years old and he assaulted me for months and the system said me and him had a relationship a 9 year old and a 20 year old had a relationship really and this happened here in America I felt like shit they forced me to open up about it ,to re live the trauma months and months of therapy and mental health medicine and that's what they came back with a relationship ,I bet if I was not a so called african American they would have threw his ass under the jail but unfortunately they don't give a damn about brown ppl and children I h8 amerikkka
Hate it, then leave.
I pray that the next half of your life is filled with the happiness that you deserve!!! Your story will touch many more that you could’ve ever imagined You got sis❤❤❤
Praise God for deliverance !
Family is such a loose word for a lot of people. I truly hope nothing but bad comes to all who do others wrong!!
EVERYBODY FAILED HER "EVERYBODY!"
I’m convinced this was some kind of neighborhood / family ring of pedos. This story is so sick. I’m so very sorry this happened
So true! 🤯
What's the problem? They can't get nobody their own age. 🤬🤬🤬
It's not about sex for them. They want to feel powerful by dominating, controlling and terrorizing these children. They feel even more powerful and entitled when they get away with it.
This story infuriated me!! I’m shaking, everyone failed this young woman. I’m sick to my stomach!
So sad am so sorry praying for healing
😭 My heart breaks for you! I am so sorry you went through this 😣.
Omg I'm so happy she RAN AND TOLD! omg
I was the same age. Something happened, I didn't know what exactly to tell. I was questioned by my mother, she figured it out. I'm proud of this young lady too. I can't really go into detail because of censorship. But yes. 😢
@@Nita_100 YES girl!! Momma was ready god bless her
@@nenala7684 thank you so much. God bless you 💖
I HATE that is so common. Yet we continue to accept the abusers and vilify the victims. But men want us to believe they are safe……
Poor woman 😔 I hope she gets peace and heals
I'm so sorry all this happen to you. I 🙏🏾 you continue to grow from what you had to endure. You're a powerful woman.
There were so many failures to Ms Tanisha from such an early age!! I’m so sorry that that no one protected you! (Maybe her mom started to believe her when she was 5, but ultimately didn’t pursue justice)-but I just don’t understand how no one would believe this little girl when she had injuries!! All those males in her life were predators!! I’m glad she spoke up, and I look forward to reading her book! ☮️
Shame on them for not protecting you! I hope you are doing okay. Stay strong. I'm glad you've found your voice to share your story. Thank you very much!
