She had to sleep on the floor , as a child for such a long time…no wonder she was so excited to get out of her toxic house hold (from what she described), and have her own room! Her “god parents” could have actually really saved this young girl. Too bad he took advantage of her stay. It continued until he died of cancer when I was 13. You were and are so brave. I wish I had your strength. I feel like I lost any strength that I might have had to the man who molested me.

As mothers, stop letting your children go to people homes to spend the night or go with them and keep an eye on them at all time. Trust know one that much. Watch out for your family, stangers is not the only one that molest children. Fathers, brothers, sisters, uncle, auntie, grandparents, and the list goes on. I believe that the pastor wife knew what was going on, and when you told your mom, the first time, she didn't want to hear it and deal with it. I glad you have recovered from the hurt and pain.

I think what they're trying to say is that the other victim was unconscious during the abuse, possibly drugged by him, so they aren't able to testify against him.
This is the saddest state of humanity. I know someone must’ve done it to my older bio sister and I tried to get her to talk about it through therapy because she acted out all her demons on me (including repeated sexual abuse). I survived her but she didn’t survive her abuser because she continued to make bad choices even into adulthood😤

What am amazing resilient young lady. It’s so hard knowing how the adults children should be able to trust the most in life can betray that position of authority and trust and hurt children on the deepest level so easily. As a mother to two amazing young children, I can’t imagine hearing something like this coming out of my child’s mouth and not listening and taking action immediately before anything else. Because I’m aware of what people are capable of and I was also sexually abused as a child, I am so so diligent about making sure my children are NEVER in a situation where they are alone with adults outside our very immediate family. They are never alone with coaches, teachers, friend’s parents, family friends or even uncles of mine ever. It is so important that we as parents are constantly aware of our children’s safety and surroundings. We can absolutely guard them against the outside world in a healthy way while also ensuring that they are able to grow and maintain an appropriate level of independence as children. I truly believe that A child greatest defense again predators are their parents. Talk to your kids, ask too many questions, know your child’s worries and praise their strengths and accomplishments so that develop the confidence they need to speak up and run from compromising situations that Destinee was often in. Make sure your babies know they can come to you with ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING and they can trust you to listen, comfort them, give them advice, take action, and stand by their side whenever they need you all while loving them conditionally every step of the way! So happy Destinee has a family of her own that she can empower to be amazing adults while breaking the chain of abuse and help to put an end to the shame that comes with being a child victim. My story definitely mirrors your story. I was the black sheep made to take care of all of my younger siblings all of the time. Adults introduced me too things Sexual things when I was a little child …I guess you can say I was being groomed. It was always close family members who molested me. They molested me a lot in for at least five or six years straight. These were people that I looked up to and I trusted them very very close to me it was not neighbors are a stranger it was family members who did things to me. And then when I got older like 18 I was dating this guy whose father was a pastor and I went to him and I shared with him a lot about my life and how I had been molested from the age of 4 to 9 or 10 years old & He the pastor asked me if I enjoyed it, I was shocked, and he said did you feel good to you tell me exactly how did they put their tongue between you know where I was so shocked and he would unzip his pants to show me his private part when I was left alone with him what kind a pastor does that😢
