Yep Paul Ruskay is on beast mode in this game. His music was way ahead the nurt. Those times pc games were mainly "tracker" music oriented but this guy delivered it on totally another level.
Its unreal even in todays standards. You cant get that emotion of misteryousness, fear, coolness and a sense of something uknown at the same time from any game today.
A strategy I used to use was to: ~Put repair corvettes on the salvage corvettes ~Move the salvage corvettes up and away from the rest of the fleet ~When they attack, set the salvage corvettes on their refueling vessels ~Move the rest of the fleet away from the enemy fleet while protecting the salvage corvettes ~With the refueling vessels captured, the enemy fighters soon go adrift ~Capture as many enemy fighters as possible I would usually get out with a half dozen or so. The most I ever had was 11 or 12. GREAT little ships of you want to sting the enemy hard and get out quick.
I played this game when i was 9 yrs old. Never understood until now that when command frigates are destroyed, fighters are left for dead I played this mission a big dozen of times. Sniping all fighters like a dummy. took me hours to kill them all -_-
@@torinslik6577 Windows Key+R. Regedit. Press f3 and search Homeworld. Change 640x480 800x600 1024x768, etc to whatever you like, usually 1920x1080 or 2560x1440. The ui font doesn't scale, so you can't set too high, or the text become illegible.

I think it's done on purpose : as the music sets in, the player can realize it was a declaration of war

The Kadeshi missions are signature missions of Homeworld. Too bad Homeworld 2 never had that oh shit moment.

This is the unmodded game. I only changed the resolution to 1920x1080.
