    Great video. I need to replace the valve cover on my 11 528i soon. It's leaking oil into the spark plug wells. And a couple days ago it made some loud whistle noise. The PCV valve is probably bad.

    Hi, My bmw E83 crankcase vent valve went bad with pressure in engine & blow out my valve cover gasket. Do you think it could have damage any other seals?

    • @WarpDriveM
      @WarpDriveM  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hose from the vent goes under the intake in to an oil separator.you might want to check the intake as well but usually just just the engine cover is starting to leak. The valve regulates just the pressure from top of the engine....so nothing to worry about

      If the problem is the same....its simple...it's not the engine 😈😬. You have to check you Katalysator, exhaust, turbo (if your car is equipped with) intercooler piping, intake, egr, agr, all the recirculation exhaust system,aux air pump if your car has one....and so on

    I have owned F10 5 series 2011 (n52) for the last 5 years and its been good to me.
    Issue and Symptoms:
    Every time I start my car it will start normally and in 5 sec after that I would hear a short hassling whistle and it would start to vibrate for 6 to 10 sec while the rpm needle would remain below 1000 and then it would pick up the RPM and stop vibrating (not completely you can feel light vibration). And driving if i step on the gas it somtimes delays in reacting and if I do stop at the light you can still feel is vibrating. I'm also getting some smell from the exhaust pipe but no smoke but its a strong scent.
    regardless of if the car is cold or hot if I start the car is would act in a similar manner.
    I believe it could be a vacuums issue (not sure though)
    Kindly assist me please

      The idle control valve refers to ccv (crank case valve). The n52 doesn't have idle valve. It keeps the idle with the valvetrononic motor in conjunction with vanos. The valve is glue to the engin cover. You can replace it or you can replace the hole cover. First you have to be sure that that is your problem. Scan the car first

    @mcgusto82 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I just replaced mine in my e83 07 X3.
    I went EPOXY, and I installed the spring.
    I wouldn’t do the RTV sealant as there’s more room for error. The epoxy dries in less than 15 minutes. If you remove the cowl, you have plenty of room to work it. Those tabs you see on top, if those line up with the vertical lines of the engine, you’re fine.
    Unfortunately for me, problem only got slightly better. The rubber was ripped, but it’s still misfiring. I’m doing the VANNOS check valves next. Which I unthreaded but won’t slide out of the block. I bet they are filthy.

    • @mcgusto82
      @mcgusto82 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      whacky pax - yeah. They were filthy. They had metal in them. Sold the car for 1.5k. ☹️. Btw, I got those check valves out by cranking the engine with them loose. They bursted out and spilled about 2-3 liters of oil. My conclusion, old cars suck ass.

      No need. Use epoxy, hold it for 5 minutes. If thinking you’ll still own it in 10 years.. you might be thinking poor. And by then, the valve cover might be leaking anyways so you’ll need to replace seals. Mine is 13 yrs old with 155k miles. New Pcv should hold another 10 years.
