      Thanks for the comment. I'm form Nebraska and would love to visit a Avocado Farm. Beside watching my kids I work in a grocery store in the produce department. Ok just stick the whole avocado skin and all on the freezer! Easy peasy! You can out it in a bag if you want to help keep air out, but I have done it both ways. Stays green and consistency is a little more mushy than fresh, otherwise great. The thing is not to wait until they are getting over ripe. Buy a heap and when ready to eat but still firm freeze the surplus

    • @sampleoffers1978
      @sampleoffers1978 ปีที่แล้ว

      I froze them hard and they thawed a terrible consistency. I'm finding if I cook them slightly after thawing they almost become edible texture like a bland mashed potatoes. I have to keep your tip in mind and attempt if theyre ripe. Discouraging results so far.

    • @Achala148
      @Achala148 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sampleoffers1978 yes they do get mushy once frozen and thawed, I spread on toast :) I have never tried cooking them, will give it a go, maybe mixed with mashed potato?

    • @sampleoffers1978
      @sampleoffers1978 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Achala148 I'm not recommending this. This was my damage plan attempt because they thawed terrible at the hard stage of ripeness I put them in freezer. They were like petrified mushroom texture. I tried the soaking in warm water thing when they're still ice frozen...not great improvement. I put one in instapot low heat. 20 minutes was slight improvement. Very bland potatoe taste, no seasoning added. Next left it in low heat 4 hours or so, forgot about it. It's heated mush, less rubbery, didnt add seasoning...had some rice left over with it in pot....I feel like this will be real trial and error now, I'm left with four or five thawed. They're pretty soft the water thawed ones. At least cooking results in better mush then the rubbery raw thawing. If I get more I'll have to to try putting them in freezer softer. Cooking them is decent if seasoned I'm guessing.

    • @Achala148
      @Achala148 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sampleoffers1978 I froze mine when ripe, ready to eat but not over soft. I would not recommend freezing hard ones as they have to ripen first or they will taste the same as trying to eat a not ripe one. They still were more mushy after freezing but flavour was ok. Can make guacamole with it. The texture is no different to when cutting them up, mashing, vacuum sealing and freezing, its just easier to put the whole thing in the freezer as is, no prep needed. I was just suggesting an easier way than chopping, bagging, sucking air out and freezing. You can't beat fresh avocado! But as they are expensive I dont mind buying a heap on special and freezing and using as a spread or in recipes.

    • @sampleoffers1978
      @sampleoffers1978 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Achala148 They're cheaper at stores requiring paid membership, which I accidentally got access to. I would buy a membership to a wholesale store at this point because the vegetables and fruits are so much more affordable. That's how I ended up with several avocado. I bought them in baby food two years ago because I can't do added salt, but that maybe wasn't moral lol. Supposed to be trace arsenic in there anyway...Yeah ripe is good tip, I'm going to try to wait on these until they get soft but cooking is nice backup option, flavor doesnt need potato added but they brown very fast, even cooking them seemed like. They were green first opening
