    On the very fringes of the Askellon Sector, Acolytes of the enigmatic Inquisitor Faros Tortane, arrive upon a distant ancient world of the Angel KZ-8 system. Tasked by their master to seek something of great import, they soon find a planet submerged in secrets and a deadly terror that will force them to use all their skills to survive...
    After nearly five years, here's a Short story by Dan Abnett to celebrate the New Year! Just...nevermind the title!
    "Into the Dark" originally appeared in the Core Rulebook of Dark Heresy Second Edition, a Pen & Paper RPG by Fantasy Flight Games.
    Intro/Outro music is "A Wrong Place" and was composed by Robert Renato Hack aka "OfficioAudiorum". You can visit his channel here:

    I'll soon be narrating the next 40k Short story (also by Dan Abnett but I promise to switch to another author after that!), which I hope to have out by early February.

      Awesome voice! Can you do dan abnett's Gaunt's Ghost? Please 😁

    • @jonVOA
      @jonVOA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Anzu Wyliei Personally I'd say Tortane leans towards the more radical side but we can't really know. Abnett clearly wrote this short story to be as open ended and broad as possible (In one interview shortly before the release of the Second Edition, he said as much), not to mention to serve as a kind of "template" for players to create their own characters, encounters, abilities etc. So whether or not he is and the Djinn blade is indeed a Daemon weapon is up the reader.
      As for your second question, yes I have around five years ago at this point. I originally narrated a number of short stories by Graham McNiell, which served as background fluff for W40K: Eternal Crusade. They're mostly on Soundcloud (except Terra Nullius which is on TH-cam) but I removed a couple of them, so I had space to upload Into the Dark. You can check them out if you like, although I'll warn you straight up; the quality did not age well.

      @Anzu Wyliei still would be a great listen with your voice. Keep up the great content.

    • @jonVOA
      @jonVOA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Anzu Wyliei Indeed. Not to mention the legality and copyright issues that'd crop up. If the Gaunt's Ghosts series were out of print and there were no audiobooks, then it'd be fine (apart from the huge amount work that would go into it ;) ).
      However they're not due their popularity and since they are, with a couple exceptions, being narrated currently by Toby Longworth (who along with Jonathan Keeble, I think are the best of the Black Library Narrators), any outside narration would be quickly met with a cease and desist, copyright claim and worse case scenario, being sued.
