Hands down one of the best movies ever to be made. The story grips you to the core emotionally and the characters of Coffey and Edgecomb are ones you will never forget. The WHOLE cast and crew deserve an Oscar each for making the Green Mile one of the BEST Stephen King movie adaptions of all time. RIP Michael Clarke Duncan. Him and this movie are treasures.

Exactly, people need to stop acting like the Oscars are the “holy grail” and that movies and actors/actresses need them as validation for their performances. It’s nonsense. Two of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life (Green Mile and Interstellar) got snubbed at the Oscars, meanwhile I’ve seen plenty of movies that won a lot of Academy Awards that I thought weren’t all that great.
This movie has become my top favorite movie. Not to mention my favorite book of Stephen King. Every actor/actress in this film did a phenomenal job. I’m tempted to watch it over and over again because I can’t stop thinking of how wonderful this movie is. I actually listened to the audiobook before actually reading the book itself, but reading it made me love it even more. All I can say is great job Mr. King for writing a wonderful book and great job to all the people who made this film great.
anyone else have to watch the behind the scenes of a sad film just to prove to yourself that it’s all just acting. knowing that it’s based on true events is the most heartbreaking thing
Micheal Duncan was the film. Absolutely brilliant, R.I.P. among the shining stars that are so bright and brilliant, that we are better for having known you and seen your genius.
I remember waiting and waiting for the next serial to come out. The movie was great! I gained even more respect for Barry Pepper. And cried again for Michael Clarke Duncan and John Coffey.
I watch this great movie at least once a year and I always come away with something new. This last time I was floored by how remarkable a performance by Michael Jeter, but every time its something different, I dont care about Oscars but it is and always will be a top favourite of mine.
The movie is very successful. Everyone in my family cried while watching. We watch it again and again. It was very realistic. It may be the only movie I watched crying.
Reading the book for the umpteenth time.... still touches me deeply. Loved the story, loved the movie.... thank you Stephen King for bringing this into our lives. The best storyteller ever ❤️
I watched this movie when it came out , I cried then and I`ve cried every time I`ve watched it since . Never has a movie moved me as much as the green mile , a true , TRUE masterpiece by all involved .
This movie is fantastic. All the cast was admazing. It should of won many oscars. Its such a moving sad master piece. Its a movie that once you have watched it. It just stays with you.
I never really notice the music of movies unless y'know it's in the charts or rammed down ur throat every ten minutes but I really remember the music of this and I really enjoy it. Its beautiful, dramatic, playful and just awe inspiring.
This is the POWER OF MAKE BELIEVE. THESE AMAZING ACTORS BECAME-the story-MADE themselves believe-that they were the story....idk call me a serious behind the scenes theatrical nerd-but I get such thrill and a serious tear in the eye, and emotion from the heart-because it so much more than playing a character and being famous. There is a pure beauty in what all they do. Respect ✊🏽
Stephen King’s Movies And Even the music in these films are amazing. IT, Shawshank and the green mile always make me cry for some reason because they teach us very important lessons
One of the greatest films EVER. Great acting, great directing, great story, everything. Very sad that Michael Clarke Duncan died, he had a great career in front of him.
I remember reading the book on a plane to London from Sydney back in 2001. Two weeks later the Twin Towers came down. I finally got to see the movie on VHS back then nd I was just in awe. I've read the book but to see it acted out by these great actors, the scenes nd how it was made is truly magnificent. The only movie to really pull at the heartstrings where the tears were just flowing. I've seen a few sad movies in my time but this one by far always gets me. RIP Michael😔

Two of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life (Green Mile and Interstellar) got snubbed at the Oscars, meanwhile I’ve seen plenty of movies that won a lot of Academy Awards that I thought weren’t all that great.
Even the King said this is the best film adaptation ever! Exactly how i'd say it
This movie has become my top favorite movie. King for writing a wonderful book and great job to all the people who made this film great.
anyone else have to watch the behind the scenes of a sad film just to prove to yourself that it’s all just acting. knowing that it’s based on true events is the most heartbreaking thing
caldey rose yeah
the system is no better today, even if those chairs are no longer.... still corrupt, still rascist
What!!!??? 😂😂😂😂
Micheal Duncan was the film. Absolutely brilliant, R.I.P. among the shining stars that are so bright and brilliant, that we are better for having known you and seen your genius.
"This is my mama's dreams" oh my god lol 😂😂
That was hilarious 😂
That was hilarious 😂
thank you to everyone involved in this film!
Can't handle all these feels...
William Peng this movie raped us with the feels dildo
By far THE best movie I've seen hands down. From a hard beginning, to a sad ending. But true all the way through the movie. LOVED IT
LMAO at the way Barry Pepper smiles, and kinda side-steps out of the shot at around 11:21...
Barry peppet was so cute in the film 😍
Was he Dean?? The young Guard??
Yes
+Cadence Maxwell Okay. Thank you!!!!
Cadence Maxwell awww he was :3
I have literally watched this movie well over a hundred times!!!sometimes back to back.
10:39 Michael with the little girls who plays Klaus Detterick's daughters, it's so cute!
WOW. It’s just one of those movies that comes on and no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I stop what I’m doing to watch it again!!!!!
The movie is very successful. Everyone in my family cried while watching. We watch it again and again. It was very realistic. It may be the only movie I watched crying.
One of the most overlooked movies in cinema history. The acting in this film was phenomenal.
Stephen's novels are the best America has to offer. Period.
I absolutely love this film. Makes me cry each and every time I watch it.
How in the world did this film not garner a single Oscar?
Even though I live all the way across the United States, the farthest state from California, I hope one day to meet Tom Hanks, he is my hero.
It's not fair that Michael Clark Duncan is gone now. He was truly larger than life. A rare talent. I miss the man.
Reading the book for the umpteenth time.... still touches me deeply. Loved the story, loved the movie.... thank you Stephen King for bringing this into our lives. The best storyteller ever ❤️
I wish Frank Darabont would make more movies and direct them. I love his style
If you haven't seen it, (you probably have by now) The Shawshank Redemption, also by Stephen King, is another Frank Darabont masterpiece.
I watched this movie when it came out , I cried then and I`ve cried every time I`ve watched it since . Never has a movie moved me as much as the green mile , a true , TRUE masterpiece by all involved .
Hands down, the best adaptation of a Stephen King story which continues to hold up 24 years later.
This movie is fantastic. All the cast was admazing. It should of won many oscars. Its such a moving sad master piece. Its a movie that once you have watched it. It just stays with you.
King knows how to twist your emotions in ways that will make you hate him and love him at the same time
The best Job made Doug Hutchison with his performance!👍🏻
this movie was SUPERB.
I never really notice the music of movies unless y'know it's in the charts or rammed down ur throat every ten minutes but I really remember the music of this and I really enjoy it. Its beautiful, dramatic, playful and just awe inspiring.
10:22 seeing Tom Hanks get so hype for Sam just warmed my heart for some reason.
What a beautiful big bear Michael Clarke Duncan was, bless him
I remember reading the book on a plane to London from Sydney back in 2001.
I really miss Michael Clarke Duncan. He was an awesome actor. RIP Michael.
Everyone loves Paul Edgecomb and John Coffey, and they are awesome...but, tbh, my favorite GM character is Brutal - he's a gem! Everyone needs a best friend like him.
Do you leave the light on after bed time -John coffey
