    Nice work jon but not necesary to change your injectors to obd1 you can leave your obd0 and resistor box and it will work fine💪👍

      Is there any added functionality with the OBD1 injectors or no difference at all?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's required to go obd1, but no added benefit stock. However to make it easier to tune, going obd1 is the way to go. Not many options, if really any remaining at all to tune obd0 ecus.

      @@GarageBuiltHondas Ok, so the previous comment (RT Motorsports) saying it's not necessary to change them when converting to OBD1 is incorrect?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should've phrased it better. Are you familiar with the 2 different types of injectors? One works with a resistor box, the other doesn't. He is correct in his statement, I prefer to use obd1 injectors as you'll then have the clips needed for a wide range of other "upgraded" injectors. What setup are you going to have?

    For everyone wanting to do this conversion for the cleanest result. Don’t cut your wires!!!!! You can de-pin every plug and change the plugs over to obd1. Without ruining your harness or having to solder.
    The only wires that will need to be soldered is the 4 for the new o2 and the 2 for the vtec solenoid and pressure switch and 1 for knock sensor. Single cam motors 92-95 don’t need knock sensors
    The only time you’ll need to cut wires if you’re doing a dpfi to mpfi on obd0
    Automatics can also do the mpfi swap into Efs as well non vtec and vtec
    A stock d15b2 crx dx bottom end with 1.6l zc non vtec cam slapped into the head converted to mpfi and a pm9 ecu header and short ram will hold its own against a stock crx si. It will pull from it on take off
    And a d16z6 conversion with auto p28 ecu holds its own as well
    While autos aren’t the fastest there’s a bit of fun to be had for those who don’t want to drive manual or can’t.

    Hey man thanks for the great and very informative video like always! Just one question about the adapter harness. Are there different adapter harnesses for an automatic and a manual? Or as long as the ecu is correct for the transmission all adapter harnesses should work?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The combinations of errors of these ebay harnesses is crazy.there is a bad batch scenarios where sensors are pinned in extreme wrong places and missing wires..in my case my 1st ebay ecu jumper harness cyp and ckp came out with the wires being pinned wrong.and missing a alternator wire 5v reference..i bought a 2nd one and that one was worst.so i took a wire out of it to install into my first harness which was alternator signal wire b5 to a16

    Hi mate, Hoping you still read these comments. did a JDM D15 swap dual vtec, into a 1991 HF CRX. Have the Rywire harness, everythings hooked up. No resistor box due to obd1 injectors. We are not getting any injector pulse, car starts on starting fluid but wont start without it. Has spark and fuel, just seems to be an issue with the injectors not pulsing. How do we fix or trouble shoot this? cheers

      I'm unsure. Sounds like it may be a harness issue. You should contact Rywire.

    Did you need to do the point fuel injection multi-port fuel injection conversion? Or was this on an si

    • @GarageBuiltHondas

      This is an Si. You'll have to do the mpfi conversion before doing this. th-cam.com/video/igGZthAHGSI/w-d-xo.html

    Great video, I just this same exact swap on my crx, having difficulty with starting. Does the obd1 ecu have to be P75 and does it have to be basemapped aswell?

      You didn't specify what engine.

      @@GarageBuiltHondas sorry about that, yeah I have a b18 head with a b20b4 block, everything stock injectors intake etc etc. My crx si had its original d series motor obd0. I did everything you did step by step except I had a different obd1 ecu. The ecu I purchase the guy said it was a p28 chip in an civic vtec. That why I ask about the ecu being a p75 and basemapped. Cause the car cranks and seems like it wants to start but doesn't. CEL light turns on but off after crank no codes. Cars has spark, fuel, and compression. I triple check the timing on cams and cranks to be all line up. Suggestions?

      P75. I linked the harness in the description. It's a subharness for the conversion.

    I have a wagon 4wd with a d16a6
    Will any obd1 ecu work?
    What ecu could i pick up.
    And what distrubutor would i need.
    I think i retain stock injectors for a withe with the resistor box(having read the comments)
    Before going turbo in the long run
    Besides tuning capabilities what benefits will i gain from it?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      P06 would be best since it's non-vtec.
      92-95 Civic DX distributor.
      Not really much gain going obd1, except tuning capabilities.

    So for.my crx for all the distributor wiring, do I need to have an obd1 distributor since it's a d series or is the sub harness enough for the p28 I'm putting in?

    Can I just swap the ecu with a chipped obd1 with conversion harness, obd1 distributor and conversion plugs?

    Hello, nice video but I have some little different questions. Im running eg4 (dpfi OBD1 sohc) and I'm planning to put D16A9 (mpfi OBD0 dohc), so i need (want) to chage motor wiring to OBD1, So I need to replace distributer with OBD1 one, replace thermostat with OBD1, use OBD1 injectors, 02 sensor with 4 wire (instead the OBD0 with one wire)? Im planning to use d16z6 motor installation wires and my tranny (because I want to stay with hydro not cable one). Do I need anything else? Do i need to add some wires to my original car installation because dpfi to mpfi? (Car installation is stock from b2 engine, and the motor installation will bi swapped with d16z6 one. Also which ECU i should run? Can i use harness OBD1 to OBD0 ECU? Or i can run some other OBD1 sohc mpfi ECU like from d16z6 or d15b7? Thanks a lot. Greetings from Croatia!

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll need to first do a dpfi to mpfi conversion and also use the obd1 conversion harnesses. That'll get you set up to running the engine correctly. Easiest option would be to use your existing wiring harness and convert it to be mpfi. Using a harness from an mpfi car will not work unless you use the underdash harness also.

    I’m trying to put a d16y8 engine in my wagon but need to know which distributor will fit in it or if I can use a d16y8 distributor changing the pins of the plug from obd2 to a obd1 conector

      No idea. Depends on which obd you want to run and then you can go from there. They make harnesses for all of them.

    12:22 why not the yello SCS wire? do you not read engine codes? ive got a b20vtech im trying to see if i can get engine codes, ive tried jumping d22 and d04 on my p28 ecu but it just gives me a solid cell. maybe its because the engine light on my 88 civic was never meant to blink out codes? or perhaps it has to do something with the jumper harness to the ecu? also noticed that there was a wire piggy backing off the d04 wire, anyways any ideas or suggestions is appriciated.

    Question: just purchased a complete 92 integra. I wanted to swap over to my EF. Do I still need to do this if im running everything off 1992 integra. My ef is a 1990 oem dual point oem stock

    • @GarageBuiltHondas

      Yes. You're car is obd0. You can't use the wiring harness from the Integra without some extensive modification trying to figure out which wire goes where. Not worth it to attempt that.
