First off as someone that works on heavy machinery. Them one way valves on the airbox will leak if you put a positive pressure on them. That’s how they work then when the engine is running the airbox has a negative pressure that pulls that check valve in creating a air tight seal. Not to say that they don’t leak after time and become hard. But a great video on making people check if their snorkels are sealed.
Really? You guys are dummies, its called a duckbill on the airbox, it allows water to drain out but wont allow water to come in. If you had the system 100% sealed in and out then what happens to water that comes in through the top of the snorkel? 🤦♂️
A good intake system will have a drain point that will leak under positive pressure (your smoke test), but not under negative pressure (driving).
They are rubber & suck closed positive pressure will oped them.
