      I'd be interested in demoing one of these if possible! Repairing/reclaiming rock is basically all I do with my sub compact and my grading scraper.
      I have many videos of doing it.

    I like the forward mounted implements.
    Agree with your analogy of limestone roadway. The road is dusty when dry and slimy when wet and plant life enjoys the borders.

    Thanks for the real-world demonstrations, Tim. I've avoided several specialty implements due to low utilization, not the lack of need. This multi-task tool looks like the Goldilocks tool I've been looking for. Tim and HH for the win!

    Like how flexible it is in the odd areas like the edge and corners of your driveway. Was equally impressed with the ability to use in gravel and dirt. I think I prefer my box blade with ripper shanks to really turn over my gravel drive but do like how quickly this can create a smooth driveway surface without a dozen passes which I invariably do with my box blade.

    My driveway is a pain because not only all downhill but at an angle. Last year we got a hold of a guy who owns a dump truck and some of it he drove and unloaded a lot of it and then behind the house he dumped it in a huge pile. That area has different angles and i never ever messed with gravel and a tractor. It was a learning experience. Some of it turned out not bad but some not so good. That bucket contraption is pretty cool as others have said.

    What's the added expense of the land harrow for a smoother surface? Needing to buy two attachments for what a land plane can do alone. Granted the land plane would need the scarifiers down and then raised for the smooth surface and would take several more passes. It really breaks up the hard pan being able to use different tilt angle and using down force that a 3-point can't provide. Most customers would want a smooth surface though instead of the ruts as a final product. It's still really nice and does a wonderful job breaking things up. Maybe they will figure out a way to retract the blades that break it up for a final grade option to make it smooth.

  • @Kcolby47
    @Kcolby47 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    That is a handy unit for several uses, surfaces and applications as you demonstrated. I assume for some finish pases, one could put the loader in float while going in reverse. Blessings.

  • @TelescopeJunky
    @TelescopeJunky 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I think this is a great tool IF the ground you are using it on is clear of large rocks. Be careful with it if you are unsure, especially when going forward (pushing).
    I would much rather have this pulling on the 3PH with some weight added to it.
    It is useful. Just using it on the loader (pushing) can be a bit scary to those of us without ground free of rocks 🪨. 🙂

    Interesting attachment. The lines would drive me crazy. It would be great if the scarifiers could retract and have a more of a land plane effect with a couple of angled cross bars on the frame. This definitely solves the end and beginning issues which accompany the use of box blades and land planes.

    No one ever puts enough crown in their roadways in my opinion…. I built mine 15 plus years ago and have NEVER had to do any Maintence of any kind to it. It has at least a foot of crown in it and was set up like concrete, I also let the grass grow into the edges to hold the gravel so it doesn’t push out and just mow the edges. Built right driveways require little to no on going Maintence because they receive so little actual traffic. Handle your water correctly and most issues will disappear. Cool tool for the weekend warrior though…. I really enjoyed the deere repair series on the auction tractor. 🔥🔥👍👍

Have actually been drawing up much the same except from the chain harrow vs spikes perspective. Spikes would be awesome 1 or 2 passes then pure leveling function for my tasks though. However, the loader float function could less aggressive too. HH products rock!

  • @kibbeystovall7546
    @kibbeystovall7546 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Small tractors' loaders are not bulldozers, and I always worry when people try to start pushing their buckets hard they may bend/break the loaders. Tim's 1025R may have the a useful "safety" feature that it loses traction and spins the tires before it over stresses the loader. The control it does offer is surely nicer than using a three-point hitch tool, and the fact the loader's hydraulics does let you put more weight on the front tool will help give such a relatively lightweight tool the bite a similar weight tool would not have on the 3 point.
    But this is definitely a tool that should be used only with a good understanding of just how much force you are trying to make your loader exert.

    A good road or even a long driveway needs crowned for drainage and packed in with a good hard pan. if it’s left loose you’ll have washboards,pot holes,dust, along with the loose rock will be pushed to the side in a very short time period.
    If it’s a short driveway or just parking spots clean rock is fine and looks good.
    Long driveways/ roads do not last long when left with clean loose stone I would recommend watering and packing it as soon as everything is regraded this alone may make your road last years before needing regrading again.

    Have you thought about adding some ballast weights to the implement so it will have more down pressure, but not relying on the down force from the loader? It might be an option to put the loader in float and help maintain steering.
    Over here in Australia we have something similar for skid steers and 3-in-1 buckets, we call it a smudge-bar.

    I think since you seem to like it more going backwards, maybe it would be better as a 3-point implement. Maybe with a tilt cylinder to adjust aggressiveness.

    Land plane that allows more manipulation is a win

    Thank you for demo, interesting gravel driveway tool. I am curious if first going up and down driveway using the box blade with tines, then going back up and down driveway using the land leveler would be faster or a advantage and less work, maybe it becomes more work. Enjoyed the cats roaming and playing too!

    It's seems a lot like a scarifier for gravel left a nice finish

    I think this should be used in looser material or used to complement the landplane.
    Going forward use the landplane, going in reverse use this tool. 👍🏾

    That's really interesting attachment. I got a box blade and at the time I really flip flopped between land plane and it. I feel like I should have gotten the landplane.

      This might be good complement to box blade. Use the bb for aggressive work, and this for the maintenance.

      I have both and depends on the material. My road base mix, is not crushed limestone, and box blade allows me to shape the drive and land plane maintains the crown.
      I also have a 8 ft rear blade I use to carve ditches and move material from side to side.
