I have 2 Li Time batteries. A mini 100amp for my trolling motor and a 50amp for my electronics. I love the both. They have worked flawlessly for two years.

I have one of their 50ah batteries from early 2022, when they were Ampere Time. Zero issues still. Powers my trolling motor for my kayak on day trips no problem. It sits fully charged during Winter/off season for up to 6 months and only drops 0.2 volts.

Question, would a lifepo4 50ah be enough to power a minn kota 40lb trust motor for a inflatable Mariner 4 raft? I've been going back and forth between a 50ah and 100ah for casual lake cruising.

Running an NV 55, Helix 5, and navigation lights.
    Also bought the exact
recommended Power Queen charger. They charge very quick
Ive installed two Power Queen 100ah lipos with an A/B switch, that way if the first one decides its done for a while I can switch...I tried them paralleled at first and they drained down almost as much as using one due to the BMS trying too hard to keep them discharging equally, so now Ive always got a fresh one in waiting. Lesson: Try to separate paralleled batteries from each other if they have BMS and if youre just running 12v, if 24v you can then run four 50ah separated in pairs or two 24v 200 ah to assure youll always have power, cheers!

Daren, just got a nk180 kit and following your setup video. Can you make a video on how ur setup looks like when you unload at a location? Meaning your setup. I know some guys transport with all their attachments on their yak but some guys breakdown almost everything. Just wondering your setup time is now that your using a motor. Thabks in advance

NocoGenius 5 charges my 100ah LiTime rather quickly albeit my discharge is rarely below 40%.

I have that same charger on board my bayboat, and wanted to know if the lithium option actually worked for these lifep04 batteries....thanks

Agree with BMS being a positive and a negative.
Sometimes my trolling motor won’t turn on for some reason. I flip the circuit breaker on and off and it’s fine.
But that never happened on lead acid (at least for me). I swear it’s the BMS being overprotective.
I see the GoldenMate Orion 1000 in the background. They just sent me one of those for free to review and I LOVE that Bluetooth app.

I got my 12v 100Ah Li Time battery for $209 and my Li Time 20 amp charger for $92 at 60% off for the Halloween sale. THEN I got an extra 8% off for being a veteran! CHA-CHING! Nothing like saving money on stuff you want!

While yes you can use a special charger for lifepo4 batteries, it isn't a necessity as the BMS will regulate/shut down if voltage is under/over the limits. Plus they're close in voltage to lead acid batteries so standard lead acid chargers will work fine, just don't leave the charger on them continuously when they're full. That's what makes them generally a good direct swap for lead acid batteries.
Lithium ion/polymer on the other hand is higher voltage ranges so those definitely need specialized charging unless the BMS manages it well.

I have a 36 volt Li Time battery for my Newport NK300. I paid about $500 for it. Just the other day I got into a discussion with an employee at a kayak shop and he basically said that the Chinese batteries are garbage and that he spent $1600 on a 36 Dakota Lithium. Sure the DL batteries are nice, but are they three time better? I think not.
One question that you didn't answer is can LifPo batteries be oriented on their sides? I assume yes since there is no fluid to spill like a typical lead acid (non AGM) battery.

      @wendellfishing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yeah.. I would disagree with him. DL's are really nice and made in the USA... but I have watched countless tear apart videos on chinese batteries.. and like all things... some suck.. and others are great. And to your question: Yes, you can operate them on their side.. there is no fluid inside.

@alanpeltzer7606 I'm thinking of picking up the NT300 and a Litime 36v 55AH how is runtime on your boat with the NK300? I plan to mean the user to get around in smaller to medium size lakes for bass fishing in a inflatable 10ftboat. Thanks!
