All versions of glen are great. Coke glen ,clean glen ,statesman glen. Never lost his class and ability. When Roy Clark and Keith urban are in awe of you at the different parts of your career you're going ok
This was during the dark times of his career. When he was addicted to coke. I find it amazing that later on in this show that he would share the same stage with Waylon, who had not been long kicked his $1500 a day coke habit cold turkey. I'll bet there was some interesting talks in that backstage of this show.
Maybe so, but his movements are hyper and jerky. He seems rushed at times, You see the same in the clip for Wichita Lineman from this same show. He may be hitting the notes but there’s much more to a superstar’s performance than that - it the musical interpretation of those songs and IMO that suffers in his performance of these songs. Good, but definitely not his best. Again, just my opinion.
For some reason during Gentle on my Mind his guitar lost audio. I dont think he even knows it. He ain't no fake guitar player though, He can play the hell out of the guitar.
@@PandoraJonesmodel Maybe but not all were addicts. I can’t remember which entertainer said it but he said GC was about as bad of a coke addict as you could be. Kudos to him for kicking that and alcohol.
You people are terrible you don't know him I've been to hundreds of concerts they play for the audience Freddy mercury was probably high to but who cares he still put on the greatest fuckin show ever so does glen campbell. Rip glen xoxox
Maybe wrong, great performance-the man never disappoints-but was it soon after he went into rehab? Fire water & funny snow have ruined so many lives. Only thing better is if Jerry Reed came out. God bless. Time does go by so fast, enjoy it now!
I remember watching the Farm Aid concert on TV in September 1985 but don't remember this performance. I feel bad that Glen got into drugs that affected him like this. I'd just as soon not remember this.....
a mess with too slow tempo and an overbearing drum volume... And Glenn should not have to struggle to adjust his guitars.... the sound men are pros at this
No, just filled up with some white powder that doesn't seem to be flour... Apart from his drug abuse then he was one of the greatest guitarists ever. Sad to know that this damn Alzheimer disease finally knocked him out.

Eddie Vanhalen was in awe of Glenn
Coke Glen is a total badass here! Hitting these notes in his mid 40's!
wow he worked for coca cola?
@@richardharris8745 Yup, did the old sniff test for a few years.
coca cola does that @@jamesweller8435
An American legend. A bit coked up here, but im sure a lot of us from the 80's can sadly identify. What a loss he was to this country.
Love how hard he’s partying here. Like you wouldn’t do the same.
Alzheimer's took so much away from him in the end, but even then he could still play his guitar & sing. Miss him!
He was one of the only artists I’ve ever been emotional about when I learned of their death
When I finally thought to go see Glen in concert it was too late. Regret that .
high as a kite but still awesome one of the top 3 best pickers ever
Get your facts straight. He was much higher than a kite...
@@philburt781 very well said my friend
That man was in the stratosphere.
😂👌
How can you tell he's high ?
It’s amazing how his look/imagine is very current today
Best live bass playing I’ve ever seen.
What a great performer - superb guitar player - and a great person too - RIP and thanks 🙏 👍🍺
That bass is on point. He probably had a livener as well.
An American Treasure ❤

Glen was always my hero thru good and bad times !!!!
Damn, all his songs just warm my heart.
Miss you Glen what a talent great country star.. thanks for all your music ...
I remember seeing him on TV in the 70s singing this song on a horse on the stage. We rooted for him to win.
This brings back so many good memories.
I just LOVE Glen Campbell....he was an amazing guitarist and damned good songwriter!!!
Coked out Glenn Campbell is my favorite Glenn Campbell.
Jake Marsing haaaahaaaa ya think!!! Incredible guitar player he’s hyped up
I see a few comments about that..........I thought he was just tired and nervous........

If the truth was known, the years of Coke might have eaten his blood brain barrier up and caused his Alzheimers
@@intense5335 Perhaps. Well we know it didn't do Waylon any good. That and the diabetes, and smoking. He was only 64.
Lol if this was high on coke and he hits those notes in a flawless fashion what a goddamn legend

Exactly JT, he's having the time of his life! Crazy '80s!
@@danc3693 I dont care if he singing the phone book high as a kite. It was a blessing for us that he walked this earth
He is definitely high.
@@danc3693The drugs probably take away some of your voice.
This is what I grew up on.
Awesome my former husband was there at age 19 and I loved his stories of this concert I miss you Gumby Rip you saw some classic entertainers!!!!!
He has a great professional voice
God I wish I was in the backstage after the show....
Get the straw ready!!!! He’s on a ton of coke here
Damn this dude's cool 😎 ✌
Interesting to see artist through sobriety and the lack there of. Some are better, some are worse.
best performance ever.....
I can't stop listening to you sir..i'm playing it over and over again...thank you.

Wow nice songs

In these times of strife he’s still our Rhinestone Cowboy.
Long Live Ukraine 🇺🇦
during his cocaine days...it's sad to see him like that...wow!
Hey, everyone did coke in the 80s..
He stopped a few months later
Helluva a performance though!
@@PandoraJonesmodel Maybe but not all were addicts. I can’t remember which entertainer said it but he said GC was about as bad of a coke addict as you could be. Kudos to him for kicking that and alcohol.
GReat singer/player
Glen was particularly "energetic" that night!
Dude is Strung Out Big Time
He's awful herky jerky!! Wow. Must be the good stuff he was on?!
good luck, Glen
coked up
He must’ve visited the “hamburger dude” that day for sure! “Neeeeeeew waaaaaave”!
He was flying high for certain there! All the twitches, constant fiddling and such. There was a blizzard back stage...
And still spot on perfect 💯
Snowstorm…. Still performs perfectly
Whiteout baby!
You people are terrible you don't know him I've been to hundreds of concerts they play for the audience Freddy mercury was probably high to but who cares he still put on the greatest fuckin show ever so does glen campbell. Rip glen xoxox
so glad he got ahold of that demon and changed his ways later in life.
Slap dat bass brother
anyone know the name of the bass player?
I love you lisa parks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
on a scale of 1 to 10 i give that about a 50
This guy a top all time player but this tough to watch. What the heck was he on? I wish this video was never posted.
LOL, he reminds me of the Duracell bunny ads
Good bass
Maybe wrong, great performance-the man never disappoints-but was it soon after he went into rehab? Fire water & funny snow have ruined so many lives. Only thing better is if Jerry Reed came out. God bless. Time does go by so fast, enjoy it now!
Who play drums? Steve Turner?
cocaine's a hell of a drug
He still kicks ass!
He was really out of his mind. I don't think they even mixed his guitar into that. He was just banging on it.
I don't know what's tighter...him or his pants!lol!
I think he may have done a few lines before the show. :)
Ole Glen is coked outta his mind
Thats what I thought too but he stopped before 85 I thought. The movements and speed he is singing says big azz line of coke. He is still great!!!
And it's still really good.
+George Foster he relapsed a bunch of times between 1984 and 2003, before giving it up for good after his last DUI.
Still killing it !!!!
Noooo he’s loaded on coke here !!! 110%
I remember watching the Farm Aid concert on TV in September 1985 but don't remember this performance. I feel bad that Glen got into drugs that affected him like this. I'd just as soon not remember this.....
Beutiful

Sicher, daß das der echte Campbell ist? Der echte hat doch ganz andere Ohren.
Coke was so widespread at the time and it shows here. Love Glen but man was he hopped up
a mess with too slow tempo and an overbearing drum volume... And Glenn should not have to struggle to adjust his guitars.... the sound men are pros at this
maybe he's coked up but regardless the voice.... he is the music
Rhinestoned
Bolivian marching powder is strong in this. Nevertheless...hes great
He's either getting shorted out or heavily coked.
Someone needed to remind that he was there.
Fuck is he being electrocuted?
No, just filled up with some white powder that doesn't seem to be flour...
Apart from his drug abuse then he was one of the greatest guitarists ever. Sad to know that this damn Alzheimer disease finally knocked him out.
DALLAS cowboys.
Like a "coked-up cowboy"
🤣🤣🤣
yihaaa
Must have been his coke days.
lol fake cocaine guitar playing.
davidallenroth dude even wired hes one of the best guitar players of his time
Was he really playing? Didn’t appear to be.
Nothing fake here. He was one of the best guitar players ever, high or sober.
He even played a solo in Gentle at the same show... Singing was also perfect.
