its crazy how many of these players became nfl starters

Kellen Winslow never lives up to the hype in the NFL because his name was too celebrated and for relatively little reason. His dad was good, but never won a ring even though he had a good QB throwing to him every year pretty much. Wilfork and Vilma were good though. So was Will Smith and Doss played in NFL for a while. AJ Hawk player in NFL for a while and I think Bobby Carpenter played for OSU then as well.
Not only that but that defender was Sean Taylor, who is often considered one of the greatest and strongest safeties to ever play the game in his short playing career.
Its Kind of sad knowing that the first defensive play from Ohio State was made by a pro bowl pass rusher who is dead now. Also Sean Taylor grabbing 2 ints and he got shot aswell.

I'm very grateful for how well my Bucks have been playing, but what really matters when you are the head coach of OSU or U of M is "The Game". @@southfieldtrill9690 this is such a stupid comment. Neither team played great offensively it would’ve been close regardless. Krenzel was getting laid out that entire game. It took a fraudulent PI for OSU to even win
The Buckeyes flat beat Miami up. If not for Winslow Miami might not have scored. Megahee was carried of the field with a horrid knee injury. Fantastic game. Shawn Taylor manhandled by a freshman?! Who would have thought the big bad Canes would have been beat up by a Big Ten team! And the flag in overtime was interference.

That was an absolute 🦬💩 call in the end zone on Miami. I just watched the Ohio receiver completely miss the catch and then contact happened, and there was an official right flipping there. He wasn't the one that threw a flag. Flag came from the official on the other side of the field. Talk about getting robbed. It is terrible when a team loses a game of this importance on a call like that.
Whether it was a good call or a bad call (which I think it was absolutely horrible), you just don't make that call. Seriously, in the national title game on 4th down to decide the game. Also he threw the flag like five or six seconds after the play ended. There wasn't even close to enough contact and he still could've caught the ball.
David Forge You make no sense. It didn't DECIDE the game at that moment. Miami still had a chance to win it. They were GIFTED the overtime chance with the bad calls in regulation that went against the OSU. tOSU was just the better team plain and simple. And by the way, almost all the experts disagree with you. Fact, many of the experts that claimed it was a bad call at first ended up changing their minds. You people don't understand when the PI happened. It happened way before the ball got there. The Miami defender was impeding Gamble's progress. There is still some debate whether or not it should have been holding instead of pass interference, but it doesn't matter. The result would be the same. Not to mention the FACEMASK during the play....lol Had that penalty been called, it would have been first down too. Fact, you can make an argument that THREE PENALTIES happened during that play. You whiners crack me up. Miami got beat. Plain and simple.
Does it matter anymore? It's in the history books. The bigger question is why Miami that was clearly much more talented than Ohio State could even be in this game?
Dugan Fry I disagree. The quarterback was more talented for Miami. But the quarterback is not the only player on the team. No disrespect to Craig Krenzel, but if we had a twin Dorsey on our team then it would have been an OSU beat down. Like Brent Musberger said, defense wins championships. So that is your answer. Our defense was superior to their offense. Our offense was very talented, but we had a sub-par quarterback, otherwise, it would have been a blow out.
Patrick Monnin You act is if the Suckeyes didn't have calls go their way in regulation. If anything, that PI cemented how one sided the officiating was for those bums.
+John Jones You are ignorant of the game. The refs aren't going to call a delay of game the moment the clock hits zero. Ever heard of tenths of a second? Krenzel got the play off with a few tenths of a second. You gonna blame the refs for failing to stop us when we had a 4th and 14 in the first OT? Crybabies.
A Cryami fan calling me a crybaby. That's priceless! Objective opinions? LMAO!! You losers can't accept that if it wasn't for the refs, this game wouldn't have gone to overtime in the first place! I gave you facts and all you responded with was "you have no life." Yeah, real objective. Moron.
The funniest part about all the Miami fans or Ohio State haters crying about a PI call in overtime all forget what happened at the end of the 4th quarter. Allow me to remind you: Ohio State has the ball with less than 2 minutes to go and have a lead 17-14. They end up in a 3rd and long situation, with essentially a first down standing between them and the championship trophy. Krenzel hits Chris Gamble on an out route for a would-be first down. The pass was called incomplete, forcing the Buckeyes to punt, which ultimately allowed Miami to kick that game-tying FG to force overtime. BUT...there was a very blatant missed call of defensive holding that should have gone against Miami on that critical 3rd down play. Gamble was held coming out of the break on his route. It was so obvious as his jersey was pulled away from his body quite a lot. A missed call that would have given Ohio State a first down, allowing them to run out the clock and win the game 17-14 in regulation. So, whether you think that PI call in overtime wasn't a legit call is irrelevant. If the refs made the right call in the 4th quarter, overtime never happens and the call you disagree with never happens. The better team won that night in Arizona. Deal with it.
Does anyone know the name of the soundtrack used for this video? There are two tracks and I'd like to know what was the first one being used. I used Shazzam but it identified as "Like a Dog Chasing Cars" from the Dark Knight Rises movie, but it's not the same.
+Tommy Bain Oh yeah? Name one time we ever blamed the refs for a loss. We could have easily blamed the refs for us losing to Penn State last season but we didn't. Meyer never mentioned the missed PI on our final drive of the game. He blamed the mistakes his team made, which is what a professional coach does. I'm sorry you pathetic Cryami losers don't know how to act professional but that's not my problem. Watch the final 3 minutes of the 4th and try telling me the refs were screwing Cryami. Idiot.
Yeah, why bitch and complain, right? Hell, it's just a referee costing a team a national championship. Let's just forget the whole thing, right? DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!
Miami was beat by a better team that night. The game should have ended in reg. time but cuz of the refs screwing ohio state on that 3rd and 5 miami got a second chance. This game was not officiated well and in the end the calls evened themselves out and ohio state benefited from it at the end. But miami will not admit that they were beat on the field that whole night and that is why they are the sorry bunch of losers they are today. It was an unfortunate call for miami but they were interfering with gamble all night and no calls so it was about time. Ohio state deserved to win plain and simple. people need to watch the whole game before they just watch the interference call.
+Tommy Bain Agreed Tommy. Miami was not a juggernaut because they played no one with a great defense the whole year and they underestimated ohio state because they were to cocky and they just flat out got beat. Same thing happened in '86 against penn state
+Tommy Bain I still remember screaming at the TV when he said bad call, and Keith said there could've been holding there, " they called pass interference Keith" I was like what's the difference it's half to the goal first down either way
Keep an eye on the audience, pause it from time to time and check out how they start to look like numbers out of the matrix and much more. Was this footage aired like that?
...this is another testament to the ideology that coach Osborne and Coach Sabin subscribe to...put your most athletic men on defense..Ohio states defense this year would have to rank in the top 25 defenses of CFB history..they are up there with the Nebraska teams of the 90s defenses..
I love the thought to this day that Miami scheduled the parties to celebrate their championship win. Sorry miami Ohio.State spanked you especially at the very last play. Hope those parties were enjoyable with plenty of beer to cry in.
Does anyone else see a block in the back on the punt return at the 40 yard line? Not the greatest camera angle but the defender acts like there was. Around 5:05
If they had Replay/Reviews then the game would have ended in regulation Bucks 17-14. 4th Qtr, Bucks were driving and got a terrible out of bounds call on a pass to the left sideline. A review would've overturned it and the controversial PI would never have happened.
@@canes3054 yeah, stopping Miami 4 times at the 2 had nothing to do with it. It was clearly the “bad” call where the main replay angle is a close up of the players after the contact was already made.
Ohio State punched the hurricanes right in the mouth all night long. Ohio State was supposed to get blowin out by 17 points. So much for arrogance. Buckeyes cracked concrete all night baby.,and blew Ken Dorsey's windshield out, pin-a-ling that. If you want to see that national championship trophy, come on down to Columbus Ohio in the Woody Hayes athletic center. Oh yeah, we added another one in 2014.GO BUCKS.
God still salty? Maybe watch where there was 2 minutes left in the 4th when osu caught a third and 6 but wasn’t given to them as well as that receiver was held TWICE on that exact play. Would have been a first down and they would have ran the clock out and there would have been no OT
that was the worst call in history it was thrown 4 seconds after the play which is illegal after fire works we’re going off and they were celebrating and their was no interference it wasn’t even a good throw plus he dropped the ball it went right through his hands the ref was horrible and you don’t throw that on a national championship game winning drive
so many people say Miami outplayed ohio state and got robbed but they cant answer the 2 questions. why didn't chris gambles catch at the end of the 4th quarter be called complete when he was clearly inbounds which would have ended the game in regulation? and why couldn't Miami score on 1st and goal at the 1 yard line to tie the game? if ya cant answer these questions then just admit ohio state was the better team.
Tommy Bain ok but then there was miami getting lucky with 2 minutes in regulation on the 3rd and 7 when gamble clearly caught the ball inbounds. that was a first down and ohio state runs the clock. since miami got lucky and got overtime handed to them wasnt it equal that ohio state got lucky?
Miami knew deep down Ohio State was better. You could just see the difference in their swag as compared to other miami games that season. they was all looking around like damn, these mugs is better than we thought they was. they had that concerned look whereas you never saw that look all season.
+jasartrip9598 Let the Cryami fans blame the refs all they want. It's what they do when they can't accept losing to a better team. They have no class. Cryami had their chances. It wasn't the ref's fault that they didn't stop OSU when they had 4th and 14 in the first OT. The refs also didn't keep Cryami from scoring in the 2nd OT when they had 1st and goal from the 2. They can only blame themselves for failing in those situations. It's just more convenient for them to play the victims and cry "robbery". I'm glad they haven't done hardly anything worth mentioning since this game while OSU has won a national championship and has had wins in the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl (twice), and Fiesta Bowl (3 times).
Why are people moaning about a PI call at the end of the game? There was still a facemask call that should have been made on that play after he dropped the ball.
Because of Nev Shapiro who paid these players under the table, Miami was fielding a mini NFL team and STILL couldn't beat Ohio State. Miami Hurricanes were the best team money could buy but they couldn't buy themselves a National Championship.
you ment Ohio state fuckgays payed the refs off to still that national title from us and made one of the worst calls in the history of sports a call that shouldn't have been made in the first place yo player just clearly drop the ball Miami was the true champions say want about how we payed players because nevin Shapiro was not around instill 2002 because it ain't like players from different teams get benefits from all it was is that every body wanted to see down but we always stayed on top just national hate Ohio state & the ncaa are the biggest crooks in college football fuck the and fuck the Ohio state suckeyes fuck and fuck that bullshit ass ref robbed us and up to this day experts still talk about it because they know was supposed to be our ring.
+Zabrian Adams I wouldn't say Ohio state paid the refs. I would say wtf was that ref thinking. I would like to know. I would question the ncaa with paying the officials to give it to Ohio state. So someone can beat this team. Ether way. It shows that any team on any day can beat you. Yeah the ref screwed us. It's hard enough to stop them once on the goal line. Doing it again is that much harder. How we even got them to another 3rd and goal shows you our grit. But Dorsey showed you his true colors. When under stress. He doesn't know how to perform at a high level. Having three turn overs shows you just that
I was 13 when this happened. I didn't really know how to judge a pass interference. Back then and even now. I always said it just wasn't our night. Any team on any given day can beat any team. Even though that was a pretty fucked up play. Dorsey showed why he's not an nfl qb
+Zabrian Adams That's not what the books say. It says OSU 31 hurricanes 24. He was in the path of the receiver and made him drop the ball that way. Therefore it was a pass interference. Look at the rules. Then speak with me.
Really?!? Do you know anything about what that little weasel actually did or which players he got close to? No of course not just another Miami hater. He wasn't around for this team first of all and the guy didn't pay players. He would invite people to his house or buy them drinks at a club. It was such petty stuff. Read a little bit before you start making ignorant comments. The worst he ever did for one player amounted to a couple hundred dollars worth. There have never been any sanctions or even accusations of impropriety related to the early 2000 hurricane teams. You try to call us cheaters to cover for the fact that the luckeyes backed into the championship game then won thanks to a number of questionable calls.
Look I love Miami but looking back at this, we facemasked. I know that’s not the call on the field, but even if it was reviewed, we would have received a new call- and lost the down.
The Alabama defenses of this decade couldn't hold a candle to this Buckeyes defense of 2002-2003 because the Buckeyes defense had some bruisers plus they were as tough as warriors & couldn't be cracked not even by the Miami offense in the game!
This game had the GREATEST PLAY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY, Marcus Clarett takes the ball from Sean Taylor !!!!! If you disagree, it just shows how much you DON'T know about football ?????
Tyler Durden uh what? I could also say that Ohio state wasn’t the better team, Miami just killed themselves. They lost the turnover battle big time and still almost won the game.
@@neverbackdown1918 They gave up 17pts off TO's in regulation. OSU deserved that ring, they had less talent but did way less mistakes. miami handed them that ring on silver plate.

OHIO STATE HAS A FAKE TROPHY FROM A FRAUDULENT WIN. MIAMI WON
God get over it, a great team would accepted the penalty no matter what. A great team finds a way to win not matter what and Miami didn’t do it. If they were great, they would of found a way to win. Quit your bitching, accept the loss and get over it. Good lord dude
Well, I guess it was Hans Zimmer for the entire thing!

Watch it again. He was interfered with before the ball got there.
And the whining continues.
Plain and simple.
rak haemet There was a missed call that would have ended it in the 4th by a bad incomplete call. So the call of the flag is moot.
Big 10 and OSU took care of the over-rated SEC this year, now on to finish the job with a National Championship..
Jo Backson Now tell me, has Auburn been doing any better? Hm?
Look at how more enthusiastic and hyped the crowds are before technology influenced our modern day cultures....
lol that' what i'm saying..............
Tim Holt you see almost no one on their phones, only cameras capture the moments.
so true i always see ppl walkind around i thought they were talking to me or thereselves but one those ear phones things
WE NEVER BEEN THE SAME
The game would have ended in regulation, with Ohio State being the winner, if there had been instant replay then so the PI call is irrelevant
Crybabies.
+John Jones Yeah reply with nothing but insults. That's all you Cryami bitches can do. Keep living in denial. OSU rightfully won. Get over it.
Allow me to remind you:
Ohio State has the ball with less than 2 minutes to go and have a lead 17-14.
Is that Dark Knight music in the background? I love it! Also go Bucks!
I'm sorry but the Buckeyes can die
Re-watching this, it is pretty sad to realize that one of the best players in this game, Sean Taylor, would be dead five years later.
Hope we play with this much intensity I'm the Fiesta Bowl 2016!
Five plays from the two yard line.
Till this day I have never watched this game. It is so painful for me to even see images of it.
Does anyone know the name of the soundtrack used for this video? There are two tracks and I'd like to know what was the first one being used. I used Shazzam but it identified as "Like a Dog Chasing Cars" from the Dark Knight Rises movie, but it's not the same.
so this game featured two awesome players who have both been shot and killed now?
will smith and who...?
denverbroncofan88 Sean Taylor
Zaddy Looney oh I thought he died of a heat stroke
When we needed them the most, they gave us their very best. #GoBuckeyes
rip will Smith Sean Taylor and Kieth Jackson
Cane fans are gonna piss and moan about this forever and I think that's funnier than hell.
It's their hell.
Idiot.
The game should have ended in regulation with the bucks winning. Fuckin Miami cry babies are even worse than hairball and his team up north.
Shane McCoy L buddy lmao
Same thing happened in '86 against penn state
+Tommy Bain I still remember screaming at the TV when he said bad call, and Keith said there could've been holding there, " they called pass interference Keith" I was like what's the difference it's half to the goal first down either way
Mark Boles lmao did you even watch it
OSU played better that night but Miami was obviously the more talented team, and they shouldn't have underestimated the Buckeyes.
Dude Miami had more talent
Miami won the game everyone accepts and knows it.
uh, you're dumb
Does anyone else see a block in the back on the punt return at the 40 yard line? Not the greatest camera angle but the defender acts like there was. Around 5:05
One of 3 missed calls that benefited Miami in the final couple of minutes yet they want to claim the refs screwed them. smh
If they had Replay/Reviews then the game would have ended in regulation Bucks 17-14. 4th Qtr, Bucks were driving and got a terrible out of bounds call on a pass to the left sideline. A review would've overturned it and the controversial PI would never have happened.
its was interference before the throw. could have been defensive holding but either way it would have been a first down
And before that, Ohio state hadn't won a national title since 1968.
David Forge And they've won another one since 2002. That makes 8 in total for those who know how to do math.
Dugan Fry don't do the math for them, they'll have to learn sooner or later for themselves.
*1970
they only won cuz of a horrible call lol so thank the refs
@@canes3054 yeah, stopping Miami 4 times at the 2 had nothing to do with it. It was clearly the “bad” call where the main replay angle is a close up of the players after the contact was already made.
The U died on this day. Haven't been the same ever since.
More i watch this the more it hurts smh
1:27 “Uh little gamble here won’t get a nickel for his grandma” Since you added dark knight music it’s only fitting 😂
Miami had talent, but their great flaw was their OL imo. That's true for the 2001 team as well, Mckennie aside.
Doss said when he hit Mcgahee head to head, one on one and knocked him backwards that at that point he knew they could play with the Hurricanes .
That’s such a dumb comment by him lol
Anybody care to tell me the name of the song at the part when Miami was celebrating? Like right before the flag was thrown? Can't figure it out
Ohio State punched the hurricanes right in the mouth all night long. Oh yeah, we added another one in 2014.GO BUCKS.
thefireshow1 yea it was a good game no doubt but Miami won. That trophy is fake. Your school has a fake trophy in the hayes center.
@@LiterallyGod lol no
God still salty? Maybe watch where there was 2 minutes left in the 4th when osu caught a third and 6 but wasn’t given to them as well as that receiver was held TWICE on that exact play. Would have been a first down and they would have ran the clock out and there would have been no OT
I think it was Northwestern when I was so nervous that I made my floor shake and the TV fall on the floor and break.
Rules and laws were made to be broken. Because right is right and wrong is wrong. Sometimes rules are wrong.
Even though pass interference was called ( I believe it should have been) Miami had another chance!
Ben Henkel no way that's a pass interference.
Good to see someone on here has a brain. That guy is an idiot. incomplete pass game over. miami wins. fixed game.
that was the worst call in history it was thrown 4 seconds after the play which is illegal after fire works we’re going off and they were celebrating and their was no interference it wasn’t even a good throw plus he dropped the ball it went right through his hands the ref was horrible and you don’t throw that on a national championship game winning drive
Miami didn’t lose this game; the Refs took it from us & gave it to OSU. Anybody who watched the game knows this.
so many people say Miami outplayed ohio state and got robbed but they cant answer the 2 questions. why didn't chris gambles catch at the end of the 4th quarter be called complete when he was clearly inbounds which would have ended the game in regulation? and why couldn't Miami score on 1st and goal at the 1 yard line to tie the game? if ya cant answer these questions then just admit ohio state was the better team.
Tommy Bain damn bro i couldnt have explained that better.
Awesome!!!! Drive, drive on down the field...
Legend has it Miami fans are still crying over this loss! Lol
Count; that was five turn-overs by Miami to OSU!
Defensive holding would have been a first down period
Look I love Miami but looking back at this, we facemasked. I know that’s not the call on the field, but even if it was reviewed, we would have received a new call- and lost the down.
Facemask? No. Holding? Yes. he grabbed his shirt priot to pass
happy 15 years ago today
The Alabama defenses of this decade couldn't hold a candle to this Buckeyes defense of 2002-2003 because the Buckeyes defense had some bruisers plus they were as tough as warriors & couldn't be cracked not even by the Miami offense in the game!
This game had the GREATEST PLAY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY, Marcus Clarett takes the ball from Sean Taylor !!!!!
If you disagree, it just shows how much you DON'T know about football ?????
It wasnt that good, Taylor was holding it w/1 hand facing him. He should make that play. Had QB of OSU not been so bad they woyldve won easily
man that flag on miami was for stuff that happened after the receiver had a chance to catch the ball.
he held him before the ball reached him and created him to be turned into that terrible postion. that was the call not the grabbing of the ball
Damn I don't remember all them Miami TO's
I think they got 6 in total. any team who gets that many TO's deserves to lose tbh. Had they TO 6x to Tebow they'd lose by 40.
One old official ruined a good football game in the end. He couldn't stand the fact that Miami won and was celebrating.
Shut it, douche. If it wasn't for the refs, this game wouldn't have gone to overtime in the first place.
If Duke wants there win for miami, we deserve 6 national championships
Kanye West haha lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂, if want it, you earn it and Miami didn’t earn the National Championship
RIP. First person I seen was Will Smith.
They deserve to lose after turning the ball over that many times Ohio State just outplayed them
Tyler Durden uh what? I could also say that Ohio state wasn’t the better team, Miami just killed themselves. They lost the turnover battle big time and still almost won the game.
@@neverbackdown1918 They gave up 17pts off TO's in regulation. OSU deserved that ring, they had less talent but did way less mistakes. miami handed them that ring on silver plate.
1:04 Dorsey looking for help but didn't get it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭☠☠☠☠
So watch and remember!
I remember this game!! I was in 8th grade my older brother was a die hard U fan we got to Hooters downtown San Antonio around 3 so we could get a seat and I was sick off my ass not even some boobies could make me feel better!! Great game great memories!!!
Yeah, Miami were definitely the villains in this game. The good guys win.
and the “good guys” only won due to a horrible call
@@canes3054 no, they won because Miami didn't score when they needed to the most. Bad call or not, Miami still had a good chance to win. Miami was supposed to destroy Ohio State.
Lol. If you say so. He was mugged. That was a very good defensive coverage
Miami needs to get a very good head coach they will be a very good team again
I'm sorry, but that's not pass interference. Not back then and not today. Not even if they had challenges. Heck of a game either way
GREAT game. Go Buckeyes ! Champions !
What a game!!!
Best game ever .
Could have done without the music
Is this music from the dark knight rises?
