Awesome game! Had to listen to the 2 overtimes on a radio as I had to be at work by midnight. The supervisor was pissed because he found us all in the locker room listening to this play out!! Go Bucks!!
What a game! 20 yrs later and it still gives me chills. Talent ALL over the field on both teams. Most underrated part of this game is this was the last game for The U, they have never recovered or been the same since! Crazy how one game can change a program’s fortunes!
I was fortunate to live in Phoenix and had family with enough connections to get tickets direct from OSU. During those second overtime plays, OSU fans who were strangers were holding hands and hugging people we didn't know. It's hard to imagine any game ever beating the way this game felt. Thanks for posting to bring back great memories! Go Bucks!
I am so grateful to have lived through the best years of OSU football! Two Championships spanning 11 years - not a lot, but I'll take it. Prior to this game, the Buckeyes hadn't won a CFB championship since 1968. Not only was it long overdue, but it ended The U's reign of dominance across the CFB spectrum. Jim Tressel will forever be loved in Columbus!
When that last pass fell incomplete by Dorsey, i fell to my knees and started crying tears of joy like a baby! Up to that year they were so close to winning a championship multiple times in the 90s, and they FINALLY DID IT!! And did it against a very, very good Miami team that NOBODY outside Buckeye Nation thought they could beat! Great game and a treasured memory!!
Man that hit on Dorsey really Rattled his Cage. I loved play Middle Linebacker in School. That Hurricane came to a End. That Coach for OSU called that play on Defense, no matter what they say about him he called the perfect play on Defense, Corner Blitz!
One of the best goal line stands in buckeye history. So many crazy pieces that fell into place in this game. My grandmother saw every game live that season and sent me a game program from each game, and this game she got Gamble to sign the cover for me, still have it this many years later. Its the piece that started my buckeye memorabilia
Ohio State was flat out better. If review was around, the Gamble incompletion is overturned to a catch, and the game is over in regulation, Ohio State 17-14 winners. Suck it, Miami. You lost.
That was a hell of a team Ohio State had that year, remember watching this game and anytime I see it on tv I still have a hard time watching from about 5 minutes left in the 4th through the overtimes,,, O-H!!!!!!
I remember watching this game, and being as nervous as a cat, in a room full of rocking chairs!! Was on pins and needles and wringing my buckeye hat, palms sweating, heart pounding, after all was said and done, I remember crying my eyes out, proud, and happy as a puppy with 2 peters!! Had waited 32 years to see this and experience it!! Was the most wonderful feeling!!! GO BUCKS!!!!..👍👍👍👍👍
We had a watch party for this so I've never heard the Paul Keels call, so cool! I was really interested to hear the pass interference call in OT and it's VERY fascinating to see them call out the pass interference as soon as the flag is thrown at the end, almost like they knew it should have been called. Love to see it!
This was my junior year at Ohio State, so my brother and I got student tickets pretty cheap. Craziest and most exciting sporting event I've ever been to. On that pass interference play, everyone around me was so dejected, and I saw the late flag and shouted out "There's a flag!" Everyone around me then had restored hope. It's like I willed it to happen!
It was a divine gift that Coker kept Frank Gore on the bench. No way OSU keeps Gore out of the endzone with 1st and goal from the 2 yds line. He was healthy. He was playing the MoC role during game prep and beat out MaGahee as starter during the season. I think 30 guys from this team were drafted
One of my Cousins she was related to Jake "the snake". Both sides of my Dad's family went to the Tostito Fiesta Bowl. Snake thought they had the Game in the Bag . Then Joe Germaine threw a couple passes & CRUSHED THE SUN DEVILS !
As a Buckeye fan I have to give Dorsey respect. He wasn't a very big dude, and he stayed in the whole game and took some big hits. This was when the quarterback wasn't as protected. He got planted on that last drive and showed his toughness.
Stop the interference call robbed the U talk. On Ohio State's final drive, the 3rd & 6. Gamble was first held by the jersey, then made the catch, refs missed both, well, Miami never gets to tie the game.
Crazy to think in this day and age that a big East team was an absolute juggernaut and the sec wasn’t a thing, only to have this absolutely flipped within 4 years.
One of the BEST BUCKEYE WINS! Go Bucks! I think 🤔 I watched the Double Overtime, which Ended by a Corner Blitz & Dorsey on his knees. One for the College Hall of Fame. Sad what became after to Maurice Clarett. Craig Kreinzel threw the Holy Buckeye pass against Purdue! He was a BioChemist major. Smart man. Football 🏈
You know it’s a wild game when there’s 2 minutes left in the 4th and the video isn't even half over
Awesome game! Had to listen to the 2 overtimes on a radio as I had to be at work by midnight. The supervisor was pissed because he found us all in the locker room listening to this play out!! Go Bucks!!
Listening to Paul Keels call this game is the cure for depression!
Still get nervous watching any replay of this game even though I know how it ends.
Thank You 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes
It’s almost 20 years later and miami fans are still crying! It was a flag in overtime and the game should have ended in regulation. Let’s go bucks!
Even worse there should not have been over time since Gamble caught the third down pass, after the penalty that is automatic first down.
Miami’s whining makes it even that much more sweeter!
Hey punk that wasn't pass interference
As an Ohio State fan, it was not pass interference. I'll take it, but let's not gloat.
@@chetlemon7725we weren't supposed to be on the same field, remember?? We have every right to gloat. Buckeyes against the world

Another solid upload 🏆 Thanks Matt Go Bucks!!
Btw… KENNY P WAS A F’n MONSTER!
I was so nervous this game!! This Miami team speed was phenomenal.
What a Great Game Buckeyes!!
So glad we won.
What a game!! I never went to bed that night. It was four in the AM before I did!!!

The Cooper Era was my childhood. This was my redemption.
Oh how I love this. Jim was such a fan calling the game 😆
The awesome part of this game is that most of the starters on both sides of the ball all made it to the NFL.

Targeting
@@user-td7xf3gz4l targeting didn't exist then
That was the GREATEST Goal Line Stand in FBS History! First and Goal from the 2 Yard Line, with the Natty DENIED!!!!
Blows my mind they called Chris Gamble out of bounds on that 3rd and 6 AFTER he gets held twice on the same play 😂
This was the game that made me a Buckeyes fan. I remember everyone being all over Miami and I said Ohio would pull a big upset

Brought back some good memories, thanks for posting.
I remember this game very well
Ohio State was flat out better. If review was around, the Gamble incompletion is overturned to a catch, and the game is over in regulation, Ohio State 17-14 winners. Suck it, Miami. You lost.
Plus he was held twice
The best of The Vest!
I remember watching this game with a bunch of really cool friends from Columbus Ski Club. Good times.
That was a hell of a team Ohio State had that year, remember watching this game and anytime I see it on tv I still have a hard time watching from about 5 minutes left in the 4th through the overtimes,,, O-H!!!!!!
I-O
This One was one hell of game! Both Teams was Outstanding! 🏆 Bucks
What a great blitz call that was. I remember it like yesterday.

Craig Krenzel was born with ice in his veins. The game that ended the Miami dynasty. Go Bucks!!
Maurice played his Ass off in this game that take away fumble is one of the best plays in Buckeye history

14:01 "boom!" lol love it
Gamble caught that 3rd down pass, so no Miami fan can ever bitch because the refs gifted them OT.

Still makes me nervous to watch this. (OSU, class of '77)
That hit on dorsey at the end of the game really rung his bell
This game was insane! Miami never recovered after this game!
Here for the Miami tears 😢 😭
Stop the interference call robbed the U talk. On Ohio State's final drive, the 3rd & 6. Gamble was first held by the jersey, then made the catch, refs missed both, well, Miami never gets to tie the game.
SPOT ON!!!!

Miami has never been the same.

Maurice Clarett still the best college running back that never was!
Let’s go!!!
Me too!!!
Wow in the early 2000s Ohio State ended the Miami dynasty and Texas ended the USC Dynasty.
I remember all I kept hearing was Miami was too fast. Just too fast. 🤣
You missed Fox's interception
the flat was open on that krenzel pick
Krenzel played great though!!!
It'll be a sad day when Paul and/or Jim go off the air
"Good clean shot". That's textbook targeting 20 years later
I live near miami, and they still are salty.
O-H….
Call robbed Miami of what was theirs everyone still calls them the real champs
What a rip off Miami won that game give it back tou dam dirty buckeye's
🧻🧻🧻🧻🧻🧻...here you go for all the crying
