Michigan fan here. This was one of the best games in the series--thrilling, well played, and the stakes couldn't have been much higher. OSU had a blessed team that year... Hope The Game can be this competitive and exciting in the near future. Can we all agree on that?
I was pacing back and forth on that final possession though and held my breath on that final play. #26 saved our season with that INT cause if he wasn't there, that TTUN player catches that ball and takes it into the endzone.
That's a good one! Fwiw, my favorite is when Braxton Miller heaved a game-winning TD to Devin Smith to beat Wisky :) th-cam.com/video/eg-ZoyQcyX0/w-d-xo.html
I love Jim Tressel. He was usually pretty stoic. Ohio state gets an exciting drive on Mich, the crowd is going crazy, and Craig makes a crazy pass to the end zone. Tres just sits there with no expression, lol.
What a game!!! I cherish this game and this season so much. So many close calls, yet so many joys! I think Woody watched us from above, seeing every victory being a struggle. Runs between the tackles, hard hits, great defense, and difference making special teams. I got to watch every game with my father which was special to me. I would like to thank ourhonordefend for all the great videos and send him an O-H all the way from Minneapolis. GO BUCKS BEAT MICHIGAN!
Thanks for uploading this. I never really watched college football until I saw this game. I was on CQ duty in the Army and the guys in the common area put this game on. I got to watch this while I was on duty and was immediately hooked on college football. It's a shame what Clarett did to himself after this season though.
I was at this game as well, C Deck, 30ish yard line on the west side. Most amazing OSU/Michigan game I've gone to (and I also went to the 2006 game...this was the better game and had a better atmosphere imo).
Great game. So many great memories. I'll always say if that last pass hadn't been intercepted ttun would have beat us. After we won the Natl. Champ. My brother and I went to the celeb ration in the Shoe!!!
Couldn't get tix to this game but they opened up The Shottenstein center for ppl to watch the game on the score board. Was one of the craziest environments I've ever been apart of!!! PPL going F'n NUTS in there. It was AWESOME!!!!
credit once again goes to both teams for playing their hearts out in a well fought game and in loving memory of Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler. anyone here ready for the upcoming season between the Leaders and Legends, cause I hope you are. just remember you can't win'em all. Go Oregon Ducks! Auburn Tigers! Texas Longhorns! Miami Hurricanes! Nebraska Cornhuskers! whoo!
Anyone notice Musberger did so many games for the Buckeyes that year? he did The Wisconsin game, the Penn State game, The Purdue game the Illinois game, and the Michigan game
My daughter went to 3 seasons worth of home games while a student there. She started school when Urban Meyers started. In 2014 she texts asking. What’s a down ? She went to every game. But didn’t learn about football. And had fun
I believe the last game in the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry ended with a 77-55 OSU win in the Big Ten tournament. Or did you forget that basketball existed???
@TWet3726 He could very well have gone down as one of, if not the greatest running back in Ohio State history. He had all the talent. Just a shame he did not have his head screwed on straight.
sorry but i'm a die hard michigan fan, but they're not the only team i pull for in the regular season. But this was the one of the best games michigan and ohio state played with each other. My analysis of the Game for Michigan: Called back touchdown because of Offensive interference (c'mon Edwards). Last play of the game Navarre should've gone with the inside route on the right, with a two handed catch and at least 10 to 15 yards of open field michigan wins the game. hold on i've got more
Our days are coming...The Buckeyes will rise above the ashes to become among the ranks of the elite .We will go back and win the National Championship Game, and you know who we'll beat...Oklahoma!!
wow clarett was sweet. we were so spoiled by him. just think what could have been if he woulda been here all 4 years. another national title? a hiesman, or 2?
Really wish Claretts' head had been on straight. Such a complete back. Dude had it all. And I only live 20 minutes or so from where he went to school, woulda been nice to see him do well. I mean, mario manningham went to Warren G. Harding too, buuut hes a traitor and went up north.
+Andrew Schelb Ohio State's the only one that really counts that one....no one else really does. The National Football Foundation awarded it to us, despite us losing the Rose Bowl to Stanford.
Michigan football three straight victories over ohio state football 2032/ 2023, michigan college football national champion 2023, jim harbaugh 3/ ryan day 2 ,forever
I was 9, and this is one of the first college football games I remember realizing how awesome of a sport I was watching.
I've been to so many OSU games, including the 06 Michigan game, and nothing will ever top this one.
idk, this was good, but 2016 was pretty tops

Just as exciting nowadays too
When OSU recovered that fumble with 2 minutes left...one of the most amazing crowd reactions in sports history
I was pacing back and forth on that final possession though and held my breath on that final play. #26 saved our season with that INT cause if he wasn't there, that TTUN player catches that ball and takes it into the endzone.

Great coach, badass defense, discipline, awesome athletes, and a tough QB that wasn't scared of being hit...My favorite Buckeye team.
That was the most exciting OSU/Michigan game I ever experienced.
Until this last meeting, huh?
Nah, '02 was better. The 2016 game was just ugly and poorly played on both sides. '02 and '06 were the best OSU/UM games I have ever seen.
02 was better? The final score was 14-9. Hardly an offensive battle like 2006 was.
GreenDay1981 Why does high scoring automatically mean it was a better game?
'05 being down by 21-12 late in the Fourth and coming back, with the Smith getaway and the Gonzales catch
I love Jim Tressel. He was usually pretty stoic. Ohio state gets an exciting drive on Mich, the crowd is going crazy, and Craig makes a crazy pass to the end zone. Tres just sits there with no expression, lol.

my favorite Ohio State Game vs. TTUN
OSU vs. Michigan one of the greatest games ever in ncaa and i always look forward to seeing OSU beat MI
The bell was rung.... and a new era of Buckeye dominance was born...and still continues..
Thanks for uploading this. I never really watched college football until I saw this game. I was on CQ duty in the Army and the guys in the common area put this game on. Crazy game. Crazy season. I still almost don't believe it actually happened. Holy Buckeyes. :)
Hard to believe its going to be 10 years. What a ride that season was. Go Bucks!
I was at this game as well, C Deck, 30ish yard line on the west side. Most amazing OSU/Michigan game I've gone to (and I also went to the 2006 game...this was the better game and had a better atmosphere imo).
I was in the southwest corner of the shoe, with a PERFECT view of the final interception. Best. Game. Ever.
3:42 love the old school ABC Sports College Football music with Brent saying “ It’s Ohio State and Michigan “. I miss the glory days of this
I remember watching this at home. I lost my voice after this game. #GoBuckeyes!!
"Let's party Columbus"
I was at this game and I remember walking out and high fiving a line of kids which lasted from the stadium to the oval!! Go Bucks!!
Great game. So many great memories. I'll always say if that last pass hadn't been intercepted ttun would have beat us. After we won the Natl. Champ. My brother and I went to the celeb ration in the Shoe!!!

So goood
I was there, what a great day:)
I was as well. Was there with my Dad and it was one of the best moments of my life!
The Beginning of the greatest era in Ohio State Football
I met an Alum at a rest area in West Virginia who had an extra ticket. Best, and most rewarding Michigan game I have ever been to.
I was at this game. Section 11A, right on the goal line in the North end. I will never forget this day.
Bless Will Smith. A true Buckeye
R.I.P. 🕊️

Was my first OSU-UM game. What a freshman year and first fall in Columbus.
“LET’S PARTY, COLUMBUS!”
i was there too. awesome video, thanks for putting it together.
that 2002 season probably made me lose 5 years of my life almost every game was close, too close
Man, what could have been w/ MC? Certainly a repeat in 03.
R.I.P #93 WILL SMITH
🙏
The play to Clarett that set up the game winning TD: Gun Switch Right Dart 59 X Skinny Wheel.
Harper Lee wrote one true book -- but it was perfect. Mo C got one season -- but one is better than none.
And had fun
You are not the only one. Keith Jackson, Gary Danielson, Brent Musberger, good times.
Hell of a game. Go Bucks!
Great video, thanks. Back in the day before Clarett started getting his goose on.
God Bless you, too!!
FIRES INTERCEPTED! LETS PARTY COLUMBUS!!!!! oh god that just...man brings a tear to my eye.
Only one guy could stand with Brent as a college football announcer and that was Keith Jackson.
Look at WSU at #3...for all the close games, we blew them out. I think a lot of the critics forgot about that.
That was one of the best games ever right down to the wire!!!
What a good ol' fashioned Big Ten game! I know this is cliche-ridden, but Woody and Bo would've been very proud!!
Gawd that was too close lol down to the last second. Crazy.
When it was a real rivalry!
I believe the last game in the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry ended with a 77-55 OSU win in the Big Ten tournament. Or did you forget that basketball existed???
Same here.
What a fucking charmed team
Michigan WOLVERINES vs ohio state Buckeyes 2002 Brent musburger Gary danielson jack arute big ten conference rivalry game college football game
Yep, that we can agree on. I just hope that my Buckeyes maintain the upper hand though.
Clarett tearin' it up in the Prison League i hear
@TWet3726
He could very well have gone down as one of, if not the greatest running back in Ohio State history. He had all the talent. Just a shame he did not have his head screwed on straight.

@ 1:19 here's the BCS standings heading into this game.
@ 1:16 the bad news is the buckeyes 1st drive is an 3 and out the good news is the BCS standings heading to the game
I miss the Shoe being natural grass.
tOSU defense...I really miss it. That's how you win championships. Allowing IU to score 49 points makes me a little nervous.
wow clarett was sweet. we were so spoiled by him. just think what could have been if he woulda been here all 4 years. another national title? a hiesman, or 2?

Tressel made good on his promise.
@violenceteacher6669 In 70 we were one of 2 or 3 teams to win it
wwoooooww clarrett was AMAZINGG
I was there.
Hard to believe a pair of pants ruined the sweater vest.
I love Brent Musburger!
you're hysterical.
Damn it Navarre! 2 chances to win the game & you turn it over twice
@Diehardclevelandfan and counting
haha I like Musberger's hat
And people say that the Big Ten is overrated.
The SEC is!
back when the big ten was respected
Most clutch team ever
@hazelwood55 USFL too
Wrong Musberger the last time we won one before 2002 was 1970
didn't we win one in 1970?
+Andrew Schelb Ohio State's the only one that really counts that one....no one else really does. The National Football Foundation awarded it to us, despite us losing the Rose Bowl to Stanford.
+Andrew Schelb not really because the Bucks lost the rose bowl against Stanford 27-17...Bucks are #1 now!!
+Chuck Collins well it's in the record books
Paul Keels > Brent Mushbooger
Agreed!
Let’s Party Columbus!!
"Scoring first can be absolutely critical." Or not.
Slick
rose bowl baby YAYS
@BlitzinLB27
Clarett is out of jail and attending OSU trying to finish his degree.
@kylepoplaski1 Watch again Kyle. The Michigan receiver threw the OSU guy down. So get a clue Kyle.
Michigan was clearly the better team.
BigBlueBri oh yes, clearly better...not
Is that you Jim Harbaugh? Come clean
Nice hat Fusberger
Krenzel was a gutsy quarterback and a great leader, but he just looks awkward when throwing the ball.
+Sherpaful I'd rather have a Qb like Krenzel than a more "athletic one" because Krenzel was tough, smart, and a winner.
1202 Program Alarm I agree, not that most athletic QB, But very intelligent and great, calm leader.
LET'S PARTY COLUMBUS
This game is the 2nd best only behind the 42-39 #1 OSU beating #2 That team up North.
Michigan football three straight victories over ohio state football 2032/ 2023, michigan college football national champion 2023, jim harbaugh 3/ ryan day 2 ,forever
MIKE DOSS
Ohio State is 8th with a 10-2 record.
Braylon Edwards - Sucking in Ohio since 2002......
A little off topic, but I miss ABC sports. :-(
funny hat brent
OSU IS THE BEST
Musberger wit the fedora hahah
