Ours is on the big side, almost 16 pounds. But she's a healthy size, not overweight at all. She's about 15 months, so done growing. Don't keep up on her brushing as much as we should, so I spot remove mats when I find them, and bath her weekly. Also, the get crust under there eye when they sleep, so clean the fur there with a wet cloth every day or so, Wet and Twist the hair woks for me, wiping doesn't see to do it well.

It should be noted that Juvenile cataracts show up in some lines of Havanese at 4 years of age possibly two years after your dog or bitch earned their championship.

my friend had 3 of these dogs; she had her groomer on speed dial; spent several hundred dollars A MONTH to keep them groomed. they were miserable in the summer, too hot, poor dogs! she refused to get them shaved (or at least trimmed a lot) to keep them comfortable, stating one does NOT shave a HAV! so i pointed out that you dont show them so they dont need that huge fur coat on them making them terribly hot and you terribly broke. she was annoyed at me, BUT a month later she told me she had SHAVED THEM (not down to the skin they still had a half inch of fuzz on them) and now was only combing their heads n faces and tail daily, her groomer was a distant memory, and she now could keep her house.
