I remember as a teenager I dedicated countless hours to this game in order to finish it with 0 alerts and 0 kills. Still one of my proudest gaming achievements. Favorite game franchise to this day.
Wow almost 20 years since this game first came out. And I can still remember that first playthrough vividly. My first good job out of college, and I had a nice long Thanksgiving vacation. Watching in awe at the opening credits, my jaw on the floor. Every new location I would explore and see what all radio conversations I could get. Getting a big smile when Snake asked Sigint, "How do I take of my pants." Feeling betrayed when The Boss sided with Volgin. Fighting the Cobras for the first time, my first time with The End took 45 glorious minutes. I got the moss camo on other playthroughs. All the ups and downs as the story unfolded. Having to kill The Boss by pulling the trigger. then the truth, the awful truth was revealed. I was gutted, ashamed, and hated myself. This game had the biggest impact on life, more than any other game. I started to really question things and think for myself. Looking into history to see what was real and what was theater.
I remember after getting the camo for the first time and the battle was over, I went to the Krasnogorje mountain top and there I briefly equipped it to regain all my stamina, because you are constantly and plentifully exposed to the sunlight up there.
Yes I got it. You can also kill the end before fighting him. There is a certain point where you are out side of a warehouse next to a a dock and you can pull out your sniper and shoot the end as he is being wheeled in after a cut scene
MGS3 is still my favourite of all time to this day. I'm pretty confident in saying that I've seen everything this game has to offer. I absolutely love this game!!!
And the others mgs games ??? ....I recommend to you my audio book or book called the selfish gene on my channel ...2 hours maybe you see somthing different 🙂👍
Wow. Didn’t know he drop that camo. I’ve gotten rations and bullets from him. But, I have beaten him with just stealth, sniping, reckless gun fight, and of course changing the time. The End fight is one of the best boss fight all time.
I would always use this outfit because of the high camo index but never realized it had the stamina recovery effect! Thanks Selkan, cool video as always.
So, I remember when the tailer for MGS3 dropped. I was so excited to play what at the time I did not realize would be my favorite game of all time. I remember coming up with ideas for ways to improve the game before it even came out. One of which was obtaining camos from the bosses. I was so excited when I defeated "The Fear" and got the spider camo. But "The End" camo was the one I wore most of the game. I've probably beaten MGS3 thousand times now. I still get excited when the opening credits and theme song plays. I'm hoping rumors are true and we are getting a PS5 remake (hopefully using the fox engine) because, even though MGS3 & MGS1 had the best stories, I believe MGSV had the BEST gameplay mechanics. I would love to see tactical clearing from MGS2's evasion mode make a return. I would love to see the very best from all games combined into one.
It's hard to believe this game came out almost 20 years ago. I was a teenager when it released. Those were the days of getting excited for video game news, especially when it came to Metal Gear
The best camo in my opinion is thr spirit camo warn with stealth camo equipped you are completely invisible with your footsteps eliminated if you need your stamina replenished just choke the soldiers in a cqc chokehold until full.
Yes I got it as well, its the best camo in the game if you don't count the stealth camo. I even did it on my European extreme non lethal run. Its the best way to beat The End. I wish Kojima would have had the week long sniper battle with The End. It would have been glorious! Oh and the Mosin Nagaunt is a amazing prize for a non lethal The End battle win.
@FzumO.Gaming In MGS4 they basically say all the superpowers that the characters have are due to nanomachines. In the MGS3, PW, and MGSV era these superpowers are explained by parasites instead of nanos.
I do a annual mgs1-3 playtrough like kind of a tradition and i gotta say this camo is really nice, the ends sniper that you can obtain is also very nice
Always nice to find achievements that I’ve made during my childhood. I did this because one of my friends in middle school (also the person who showed me MGS2) told me that acquiring his camo made the fight easier after I complained about it one day. Looking back, this is probably more challenging than the actual fight.
I wish I could play that game again, I had so many magical moments with this game. Never forget how I killed the end even before his real fight started
I was on my umpteenth play through when I got this camo by accident. After holding him up and getting it I suddenly realized I’d gotten all the other Cobra camos before and somehow never realized I hadn’t gotten The End’s until that point. What a cool moment
I love the Moss camo, another one of its benefits is that it’ll recover your stamina while wearing it in direct sunlight. Flecktarn is probably my favorite camo pattern. Especially if you're doing a no alerts run because having infinite battery makes the motion detector and other items helpful for a no alerts run. It's the camo I mostly used especially on NG+. Plus little fun fact, Flecktarn has been used since WW2 and the German military still uses it 80 years later.
Hey, I did it back in the days. I was read about it in some magazine back in days and use it that trick. But best camo in all MGS games are invisible ones, such a fun with them hehe
Once you found the End once, it was easy to stay on his tail - while his camo was state of the art, his footprints would still give off heat - IR goggles ftw
I thought the video was going to be about sniping The End at Ponizovje Warehouse: Exterior. Happy to learn that I was the GOAT at 12 years old in 2004. 🙂
Hideo Kojima was ahead of his time and MGS3 was the proof of it, while 1 and 2 had their hiccups and cut content however Snake Eater had far and beyond ambitious foresight with Kojima's story and concepts, I.E. This Battle with The End initially was to be Days of hunting and scavenging for food while having a Snipe-Off with The End in even more terrain and environmental effects. Shame he wasn't given more time it'd been worth the wait.
That time before the game is released, a Fan asked Kojima that if they are playing as Big Boss instead of Solid Snake. He chose not to answer. He wanted that Big Twist revealed to us after playing.
When doing Promotions for MGS3, there were several letters that were Capitalized with each heading, but some of them were lowercase (Larger Font, but still lowercase). If you took those letters and unscrambled them, it spelled out "bigboss." So there were clues, but Kojima was not going to outright tell you. Besides, the game took place in 1964, which meant Solid Snake hadn't been born yet (he was born as David in 1972, alongside Eli and George). Another hint from the first MGS, MGS1 to be absolutely clear, comes from the Briefing section where you look up Liquid Snake, and Colonel asks Solid Snake a question regarding a dated time in Iraq with Green Berets and Solid Snake responds: "I was just a kid myself back then."
First time I snuck up on The End and held him up three times, I felt like I was literally Naked Snake. That's a tactic he would employ, because think for a sec; A Mosin-Nagant vs. a MK22, with the Mosin user being well hidden and also being skilled with said Mosin. Flanking is the best and wisest solution. A tranq dart, realistically, wouldn't keep a straight trajectory past 20m. Especially going out of a pistol barrel. The End has a crazy range advantage.
Its the best cause even with stealth u only have 95% camo when the alarm sets off and with this camo u can actually have 100% even when the alarm is on so it was always perfect for maximum troll.
If you can’t find sunlight- holding the torch while wearing the moss camo will regain stamina, and in turn, your full stamina will allow you to regenerate health- if you’re not moving.
Yes. After my third playthrough I get it every single time, as well all of the other boss cammo. It's not hard to get once you know the strat. Just follow him with the box to avoid the slowdown of running up hill and sneak behind him one he settles. He only has like 2 places to be once he gets to another zone.
Correct me if I'm wrong but MGS3 Snake is Big Boss.. the first and original Snake who finally met his end in MGS4 after meeting with the Solid Snake we grew to love in the MGS saga
I do remember the first time I snuck up to The End. I couldn't believe it myself. Though I don't remember using his suit very often, aside from standing in the sunlight to heal.
Just for camo completion yes i did obtain the end's camo. The best camo for me is the sorrow's camo, you can walk, even run without hearing your footsteps, whenever you choke an enemy, it's very fast to choke them and you can steal their stamina.
I just recently hooked up my ps2 and am playing through mgs3. I only rented this when it came out and busted out a quick like 6.5 hour playthrough. so im finally getting a chance to sit with it like i did mgs2. I played SoL like 20 times as a young teen.
I was able to obtain it only after reading of it's existence. Believe me, I played at least 4 scouring "play-throughs" before allowing myself to read anything online that was related to secrets or hard to find gear back in 2005.
This is my favorite mgs game of all time. It's a lot more fun on european extreme. That difficulty teaches you the true meaning of stealth. You start off with one suppressor. (2 in operation snake eater if you're gonna use both the lethal and non lethal guns) In the virtuous mission, you find another one in the 2nd screen, but in operation snake eater, as far as I know, you won't find another one until the optional area just before the warehouse, so you have to use your 1st one as wisely as possible, especially if you're doing a no kill run. Another good camo is the Cold War uniform. It makes the bike chases 100 times easier.
Held up guards will drop additional ones. I know for a fact after meeting Eva in the mountains when you exit, that first flame trooper drops one for sure.
@@Ashton__Kusher Good to know. There's also another place you can stock up on them. In the building where you meet Granin, you can find one in an upstairs room near the balcony exit. Leaving and reentering the building will respawn it
I forget what it was called but my favourite camo is the black reflective Boss type you get from the locker before the Shagohod room after you beat the game once
Thanks i searched vor this i didnt know this i only got the mosin nagant from the end and i used the spider cameo from the fear but this cameo is better the spider camo comes up to 80 in the tarn index and while use the fears camo takes alot of stamina. i try this in my next run
