- It may be the start of July but that doesn’t mean you’ve missed the boat on your summer containers. In fact, it means you’ve just opened to a world of possibilities that you couldn’t have dreamed of last month! Let’s chat through some of my favorite perennials, grasses and late season arrivals that make mid-summer the perfect time to add color to your containers.

I popped that pic up on Instagram after I planted it... it turned out GORGEOUS and picked up on the grape vine growing along side it!

I love your container thoughts and explanation ideas. You have helped me get back into container gardening. T Y !! I've jumped into from 3 last year (pre-made by the nursery) to eight this year that I've done myself. I go to my local nursery early in the morning (with my brown paper container template you introduced in one of your videos) and play with all the plants on my cart as I work on making my final choice. I've been soooo much happier with the outcome once planted. Stay cool this 4th, Temps up in the low 100°s in the PDX area.

Always love your enthusiasm for plants. I usually add blue, green, and black foliage in all my containers with small medium and large textures.

I love your ideas ,but I have learned anything with aggressive roots for a center piece is out ,one area of my garden which is shade,I only have pots,because all the trees and hydrangea roots make it impossible to dig there ,Some of the pots are huge,try to remove a big center piece is a nightmare,but you may have help but for me ,I have learned my lesson, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and HAPPY JULY 4th ♥️🇺🇸♥️. 🌿🍃
This is SO true. With gardening, know your limits. For example, NEVER IN ONE MILLION YEARS will I put a juncos in a pot. The one time I did it, I only left it in for a year and it was a total nightmare to remove. Lesson learned.

I find myself talking to you as if you could actually respond. So many questions and opinions! Can I ask where you got the banana plants? I really liked that second arrangement and the size seemed doable to copy a little. I am already a plant addict but you are definitely an enabling influence. Love the new plant ideas.
Well the bananas are from my wholesale grower so it isn't open to the public, but I saw smaller ones (still 1.5' tall) at QFC of all darn places!
I have 2 mahagony splendor hibiscus in the garden. I need to go cut on them to bush them out.
