you should watch Donut's money pit miata series while waiting for these videos to come out. It's literally this but with a miata. And I do mean literally.
I'm sure this'll get buried in the comment pile, but I just wanted to say that you guys starting this new channel gave me the push I needed to take a risk in my own life and change careers. I'm happy to say I'm moving forward with a new company that, at least so far, has treated me far better than my old one. I wish you dudes the best of luck with this channel, and look forward to many more awesome videos.
Recommendation for the patreon: Set your minimum tier low. Like a dollar. Dankpods went from making videos in a spare room to having his own warehouse to work out of by doing that. You guys have a super strong fanbase but not necessarily one that can afford 6.99 a month given that thats almost half a streaming service. 10,000 people giving you a dollar will go further than 100 giving you 6.99
@@mychoppaeaton the contrary, I think they should have everything behind say a $2-3 tier. And let other people pay more if THEY want to… at the end of the day, they already get paid plenty for doing what they do. There’s no real reason to be paywalling anything else. These dudes went from 0-1mill subs in less than a month. They are consistently bringing in 1mill views on every video easily. They are making money… it’s just them.. not to mention the merch and shit their die hard supporters will buy out before it even releases… TH-camrs have it incredibly lucky. @@alexdavis9324 I mean it's a trophy truck, Rangers are totally fine platforms to build a trophy truck/prerunner out of. The fact it's a budget truck to begin with isn't a knock against it as a project. And it's well, well into budget territory for the kind of truck that it is even with over $100k into it, they're anything but cheap to build. I know a lot of disgruntled fans feel it is a symbol of excess, but it is anything but, race cars (Or race trucks) tend to be expensive even in their cheapest formats. The cost of even a budget spec series is easily $25k in your most affordable platforms (Think Spec Miata, so NAs, NBs and NCs) if you were to build it yourself, and that's not a front runner car. Cost quickly goes up past that. Less budget but still considered affordable spec series like Spec E46 can easily be $40k cars to enter if you're buying used, and building it yourself can easily be $10-20k more. The thing I’ve always loved about Jobe is that he doesn’t just show the steps of an automotive job, he also shows the issues and mishaps that happen with the project. It’s a cruel reality, sometimes a simple oil change can turn into a two day job because your tools broke or you don’t have the right filter or you don’t have enough oil!
I mean, that's the same with life. If you're doing an oil change, you want to make sure you have the right tools and parts before tackling the job. Also maybe have a buddy nearby that you can call on to give you a ride to the parts store if your car happens to be out of commission.
One of my favorite parts about these two and the channel. Its nice to not just get the instruction manual read to you with it jumping to directly after its done. You get to see other possible issues you never expected and how to deal with them.

The anxiety was palpable on Jobey during they dyno part and the pure joy on his face when it was all working is just incredible. I don't even usually watch car videos but I'll watch project car videos like this all day.
What I really appreciate about all of this is Jobe is getting nervous and excited about his own project whereas he wasn’t with other peoples projects so cool to see. Keep it up bro’s

Man, Jobe's anxiety on the first start and dyno was the most relatable thing. I literally got chills. I think this is what we have been missing, people actually owning their projects and being fully invested in them.
To throw a car together and have it start and run the first time, then have it on the dyno the next day...just goes to show how much knowledge and experience these guys have collectively.
Kinda loved that "Click to analyze" mistake at 9:39. Makes it feel like you guys make mistakes even being as Big Time as you are these days! Love the channel gents!
Yes!!! A return to form! This is what I loved about the prior channel: quality explanations, cool projects, hilarious AF. When you guys mention specific parts, could you also link those companies in the description, such as the company/source of the fittings? Setrab? For those of us also doing builds, knowing good resources of parts is super helpful.
Jobe's face at 24:10 was absolutely priceless. It was like a bit of disbelief. I know the feeling though. I remember feeling the same way the first time I started my ride after 10 years of sitting dormant. It is a mix of disbelief and euphoria all at once, with a little bit of dread that something might still be wrong, even though it is running.
"Doing what best bros do, which is working on a buddies project car". Love that. One of my friends within a month of knowing me stayed until 2am working on my project 04 Forester XT with me. That's how you know they're a real one.
@@TheAndostro that night we were trying to get the 3 banjo bolts with the crappy filters replaced. Ones in the back of the turbo and a pain in the ass to get to. As far as the car it's quicker to list what is still stock. It's technically an "XTI" because if there was an STI part that fit or aftermarket upgrade that's better it's on there. Grimm speed dual pickup oil pan, 48mm turbo, slim radiator and higher speed fans with aluminum coolant tanks, 2017 STI intercooler, grimspeed cold air intake with a custom box, STI intake manifold, upgraded injectors. 115k on the chassis and somewhere around 60k on the motor.
BUT, would you return the favor is the real question. jk. I envy the friendship. I have 0 people outside of my brothers who would help me without any benefit to themselves. its unfortunate.

@27:20 the wide eyes, the energy, the emotion, the sounds. Dude i felt that in my soul like I was right there with you. Thanks for sharing this moment with us.
my step dad bought in 2019 a 1965 Ford Zephyr project that looked like someone was in the middle of restoring but couldnt finish it (possibly the person passed away or illness stoped them, step dad was not told the reason), by 2022 he had it restored and running, got his fun out of it and put it up for sale in 2023. now we live in Scotland, the person that bought it from Ebay was down in the south of England about 400 odd miles away. my step dads luck woth other classic cars he had, usually driving a classic that far, something will go wrong, engine cut out, spark plug explode out the engine, and so on. he expected the buyer to bring a trailer and tow it home but nope, on the hottest day of the year the buyer drove that car home and it made it without any problems or hiccups. my step dad was amazed. i could see that similar feeling in Jobey that it got through the Dyno in one piece, the work he has put into it and the help from the others has made something quality. just fantastic. and i know that feeling well when you get an engine to start after a while of it not running. my dad had a 2001 Ford transit van, the fuel pump died on it, 2 to 3 months later we got a new fuel pump (money was tight) installed and got the engine running, it was the last smile and fist of victory in the air i seen from him as he had cancer (had problems with his body just before the fuel pump went), 2 months later he was gone. Enjoy the car, enjoy the freedom to do what you guys want to do with your channel, i am happy to watch the content.

This channel shows why we fell in love with Donut originally. These guys are an inspiration to show how creativity mashes with getting little wins on a project.
It's just genuine passion when it starts up. Going from the sleep deprived look in the eyes to complete surprise and joy that it worked. Love to see it!
So refreshing to see people doing DIY in their own garage. Instead of "oh, I had a buddy of mine do all the plumbing" etc. This stuff is sooooo much work. It's great that you show so much detail. Stuff like tips on installing the AN fittings. Much respect. DIY rules!!!
Yo to all the original D-holes out there. How long have we been waiting for this build to finally see the s14 drive under her own power. Chefs kiss Big Time
I love garage build videos. Garage build videos are much more relatable and achievable for the average Joe. Don't skip over the stuff you assume people know. Show me how to do things that might be basic to you, like how to install pistons, how to measure tolerances, point out engine components that are deep inside the engine bay that most people will never touch (Everyone knows what a spark plug looks like, show me what an oil pickup looks like, or a camshaft sensor). Too often I watch a car video where they say "we're going to install the turbo" and then 30 seconds of footage later the turbo is installed, I didn't learn anything from that. This content is great, keep this stuff going. I'd love to see a series of how-to's as well.
Although I’ve a car person for practically all my life, I never really got into the actual workings of an engine, just the general knowledge of how an engine works. But BigTime has truly gotten me interested with its engine rebuilds and also the times you worked on engines when you two were on your former channel!
It was ironically very enjoyable seeing you stress out during the dyno rather than just filming an exhaust for flames (which i also do enjoy tbh), you guys are extremely relatable, good motivation to work on my bike currently in pieces on the kitchen table. All heil Big Time!
This is just so good. I love the shots of Jerry all pissed under the car when bleeding the transmission. It's just so incredibly relatable. Doing the work in Jobe's garage on jackstands is just so much easier for me to relate to than on a lift in a pristine shop.I know the videos are probably a lot of effort but it shows. I'm excited to see where this channel goes.
Man there's something so nerve racking and exciting about 1st startups. The first time I got my LS swap started I pounded the roof of my s10 because I was so excited 😆
That's bad ass. I had to click on your profile to see if you had video of it. I'm 26 now but in HS my friends and I put an lm7 5.3 out of a 2004 sierra and put it in my s10, and that thing hauled ass.
Always quality. I really liked the inclusion of Jobe’s anxiety and stress. Made me feel like I was a homie with him and he was just honestly expressing himself. Just the little things that make these videos great.
I haven't been a long time Donut fan like a lot of other people. I actually only started watching Donut AFTER BigTIme was created. But this kind of video somehow feels like I've been missing it for years. This is awesome.
James just opened his channel today, it was a great introduction and history of donut also no commercials. Worth the watch it’s called “Speeed” three E’s, I love all these guys want to support their future endeavors
Man i cant believe how low budget this all is (easily costing more than my tuition lol) but the effort is so fucking high budget. This channel is the best to come from you two!
Congrats, guys. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. It's nice to see an update on her after seeing the video where you heard the knock and did the tear down. Good luck!
I'm 20 now, grew up watching donut up to speed and how it works videos in high school, made me feel great because I was learning. Every year that passed my love for donut media went downhill, i was pissed it was turning to high budget videos with barely any real car content and expensive editing. I stopped watching cuz it wasn't relatable anymore. But bigtime, as soon as I saw ur first vid I was like holy fuck donut media was holding you guys back. Keep up the great work, seeing passion in people with the same interests as me is a great feeling. We need more car lovers in the world, people who care about drive feel and wrenching. You guys are a prime example:)
Wrenching in a garage isn't the only thing that's 'real car content', Donut has still had more fantastic real car content which shows passion and automotive love than the vast majority of channels. This channel is something entirely different and has nothing to do with Donut, it's its own thing and that's just great, more for us.
Just started the engine on my multi-year car project a couple weeks ago and the look on Jobe’s face brought back all those nerves and emotions. Thanks for the content!

My beloved project car is dead 😢 I just wanted to share to people who understand my pain. I love what they’re already able to achieve, I wonder if they’re monetized yet
I absolutely LOVED the pure joy on Jobe's face when the engine started right up!
Man, Jobe's anxiety on the first start and dyno was the most relatable thing. I literally got chills. I think this is what we have been missing, people actually owning their projects and being fully invested in them.
Yo, LTT said a week or so ago they emailed you. Find that email, a collab with LTT would rock!
This!! Check ya email boys!!
It was just a full on sponsorship not even collab needed, but I'm sure LLT would be down for it.
Definitely do a collabo with Linus yall. New Channel is fresh and congrats on the gold button!
They could also join Floatplane... sounds better than patreon
Who even are you 💀
To throw a car together and have it start and run the first time, then have it on the dyno the next day...just goes to show how much knowledge and experience these guys have collectively.
The magic of editing....it's over a few weeks Buddy
@@joshgee8714 I know the build is over a few weeks. Just talking about the last couple days. Anything can be edited though
This is hands down the most satisfying car restoration on TH-cam in the history of mankind. Well done sir 🙌🏽👏🏽

Doing what donut couldn’t
Who are you??? @Sevgidan_shodon_yuraklar
Done what donut do not
no, they can both make bad videos about cars and be a pitiful wannabe of workaholics humor
Donut was more like a magazine type of format. But this is amazing as well learning bout building cars from em finally is awesome tho
Because donut is donut.
Big time is big time.
That's how you know they're a real one.
what mods you did?
@@biosec9361 geez nice one my Subie is almost stock just small lift
BUT, would you return the favor is the real question. jk. I envy the friendship. I have 0 people outside of my brothers who would help me without any benefit to themselves. its unfortunate.
@@TheAndostro I never ride stock 🤣. I blew up the motor in my 2014 STI before I sold it. My current 3 subis are the 04 forester XT I mentioned, an 03 WRX with a full 04 STI swap, and a 99 outback I got for super cheap. Oh and my totaled 06 Baja. Rear ended a week after I got it back from the shop doing a built motor and tune lol it sucked.
Every video feels like back to the roots to me. Already feel several years younger. Thank you. Honestly.
Dude I love that you guys all left donut around the same time. I love all of you guys and good luck going out on your own! I know it's scary but we all believe in you!!!
I'm not sure who is in charge of deciding what music to use in these videos, but the music choice is absolutely peak. Very well done whoever it is B)
Jobe should get an award for the most tshirts worn in a single TH-cam video
I was counting the different t shirts as I read your comment😂
@@Moosegoose03Very slow reader...

back about 15 years ago this is the type of stuff i did to my fully built 3000gt vr-4. i dont have the time or the strength to do that kind of stuff any more. its nice to watch and experience it through this channel
This maybe doesn't have the highest budget, but it's all about the Boys! Sandro is so right. This is what the subs want to watch, you guys deliver. 👌
Awesome stories, sorry for your loss. Sounds like your father was an amazing guy!
@@bren.nan_ yeah, he passed in 2016. But every time i see an engine start, i think of that moment with my dad when we got his van going.
@@douglasreid699 this story is a bit close to home. My dad finally turned on his long dead unrestored j40 land cruiser, 4 months before he passed away due to COVID, but now its my job to restore it

You can feel Zac’s joy in the first start up. Such a long time coming. Congrats dude
This channel shows why we fell in love with Donut originally. These guys are an inspiration to show how creativity mashes with getting little wins on a project.
It's just genuine passion when it starts up. Going from the sleep deprived look in the eyes to complete surprise and joy that it worked. Love to see it!
highkey the best channel on youtube atm. just good vibes, no over the top editing and screaming at the start of the video
We need more spin-off channels like this. Keeping things more real, and less corporate is the way to my views/$
TheCrafsMan SteadyCraftin is the goodest vibes on youtube, but this is chill too lol
Dude! this is the relatable content we all miss! Keep it up boys!

You guys cracked a million subscribers so fast, congrats!
I think they broke a million on the first day of the channel
@@shekeltf267yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a record

Congratulations on quick success of the channel
Yo to all the original D-holes out there. How long have we been waiting for this build to finally see the s14 drive under her own power. Chefs kiss Big Time
I have been waiting YEARS for this video. So glad to see you back to building.
You two were already my favorite donut hosts so having your own channel together is awesome.
I love the the way this channel feels like the boys filming their day. Such a nice vibe, great mix between production quality and natural vibes
9:29 may the editor that is without exporting a finished file with a "click analyze to begin" among you cast the first stone
His excitement when it finally turns over . . . all the feels. Love it.
I've never seen a fresh install fire up so quickly. Nice work Jobe!
The Internet is a cool place to be with people like you guys.

“Got a lot of work to do today and tomorrow, and for the rest of time.” 100% relatable 😂
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future! This is already one of my favorite channels and it’s literally just starting!
It's so nice to know there's no big corporation behind the camera telling them what to say and what to do. Loves you guys, keep it up
This type of content is why I started watching Donut. Thanks for bringing it back guy's
This kind of thing is what inspires the rest of us to get out and wrench on our cars, from abandoned projects to dailies in need of minor maintenance.
I never really watched donut but this is THE car channel hands down
Just started the engine on my multi-year car project a couple weeks ago and the look on Jobe’s face brought back all those nerves and emotions. Thanks for the content!
Nothing is better than the moment when you get ready to turn that key on a vehicle that has been sitting for what seems like an eternity. Great Jobe guys
