    I never thought about doing my resume in Canva. I use it a ton for other things but this is a new one for me. This was super helpful, thank you.

    I used your template, applied to three different nurse residency programs and got called immediately by all of them. I got a job as a cardiac tele nurse. Thank you for the help!

    Thank you!! I'm a career changer in nursing school and struggling to figure out how to put together my new resume. I like how you put student nurse at the top with expected graduation.

    Hi! This was really great and helpful, I love that you were an ABSN student as well so I learned a lot, and is helping me right now since I am also an ABSN student currently.

    So this is a pretty resume, but if you’re applying online it’s important to have a single column format, black and white, no colors or crazy fonts.
    This is because many major hospitals use a software that scans resumes for keywords that hospitals looks for in a candidate; words like “compassionate”, “time management”, and so on are often picked up and chosen to move forward in selection.
    Complicated designs like this often mess up the software and will be an automatic disqualification for employment consideration.

      Thanks for the advice! I submitted my resume online and it worked for me but I can see what you're saying! Thanks!

      An anyone confirm this ? Really trying to choose a format for my resume

      @@Laura-qy7ly a classmate in my cohort used to work in HR and she said the format doesn't really matter. If anything it'll help you stand out. The program they use doesn't scan for format, just key words.

      Great advice, @CassieLovely91. Applicant tracking system (ATS) friendly resumes are important for applying for jobs, especially larger employers like hospitals. Multiple columns resume templates are not compatible with ATS systems. They may get rejected during the screening process without even being seen by a human.

    Thank you for the info! It was very helpful. Especially the part about what to put down for your clinical experience.

    I really like how you made your resume. I wasn't sure if we could include color on resumes and the way you designed yours is appealing to the eye. Were you able to get a job? I'll be applying soon too!

    Thank you for posting your recommendations for this type of resume style. I used it as a Student- Surgical Technology for our mock interview that we had to do.

    Could you help with a cover letter? How to put it together/ what points to include if it’s a generic one?

    • @margaretarmen
      @margaretarmen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a great question! To be honest, I haven't ever submitted a cover letter - for some reason I've never applied to a job that requires one. I might have one from my college days but I don't think it would be that applicable to nursing. I'm sorry, I wish I could be more help!
