Those red rounds you saw from the 50 cal in the movie and some of the rounds from the tanks were tracer rounds. Actual rounds still used in military today
My relatives participated in two great wars , My Grand grand father fought in the battle of Haifa in ww1 against the Turks and German. This war led to the the subsequent fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922. The fall of the Ottoman Empire gave birth to several sovereign states like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Israel. In ww2 , My grandfather fought in the Battle of Hong Kong later on captured as POW by the Japanese. My Grand Uncle fought in East Africa , Syria, the Western Desert, North Africa ,Tunisia, Italy and Greece against the Germans and Italians. My grandfather and grand uncle played a huge part in my life. My grandfather passed away at 104 and my grand uncle passed at 96. Last memory of my grandfather I have is watching Independence Day on TV with him.
So Lafayette Greene "War Daddy" Poole was an actual soldier and the best tanker America had maybe ever. In they 81 days in theater they had confirmed 12 tanks 258 armored vehicles killed and over 1000 German soldiers killed and about 250 capture as PoWs. Legendary tank commander that only died when tanks combat came to the end and her heard his men got home safe.
did rob complain about realism this much during Saving Private Ryan and Hacksaw Ridge? because none of these movies are anywhere near perfect or accurate, they are movies, not real life
Seriously, Band of Brothers and it's sequel series are the closest thing to 1 for 1 but even then they aren't 100% accurate with the stories they tell or what actually happens in said story but in those shows and this movie, they tried their best to make it that way.
The real tank wasn't called Fury it was named "In The Mood" and if I remember correctly, all the men in the tank survived but War Daddy lost a leg. There's a TH-camr(The Fat Electrician) who goes into detail on this story and the men who operated "In The Mood".
Bros complaining why they stuck at the crossroads, accordind to the movie if they had actually paid a shred of attention, they would know that if they didnt hold that crossroads, that german batallion was gonna hit a poorly defended camp filled with support personell (nurses, cooks, etc) it would have been a slaughter
Alot of these boys weren't signing up but recruited to the army and if they refuse they would face consequences or would have to be on the run so I understand Norman a 18 yo kids reaction to front lines of war against a enemy with superior weapons/tanks
“I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me” such a great verse especially for this scene 🥹
The scene where the german spotted him under the tank but didn't tell anyone did happen in the war (but usually looked different). Like this time a heavily damaged British bomber was being chased by a german fighter plane, and while the bomber is unable to maneuver and clearly is a sitting duck for the german plane, the german decides to spare the bomber and even help direct them back towards Britain. These events aren't to show that some people are new to war, they're showing the humanity and goodness of people despite the horrible conflict.

When the young German soldier saw Norman hiding under the tank, he must’ve figured that Germany was losing and if he said anything about Norman. Norman would most likely be executed. Goes to show that in the darkest of times, there may be light
those "lasers" or lights yall seen from machine guns are called tracer rounds. usually have a tracer on every 5th round on a belt or box of ammo. its so gunners can get a good sense of where their bullets are travelling
In a deleted scene of this movie it explains why war daddy back was burned (the engine of the truck he crashed got stuck on on top of his back) and why he was there in the first place(he killed his gf and little brother drunk driving), recommended to watch. Also war daddies brother name was also norman thats why he treats him a lil better than everyone else
The whole way the ground war was conducted encouraged continued attack on a shoestring if necessary once you had the enemy on retreat. "The Bridge at Remagen" is a great flick on their rush for the last bridge across the Rhine, that really illustrates how the Army was "on the chase" after the Wehrmacht for a while before their last stand in Germany. Talking about "signing up" for WW2 is kind of a weird thing history doesn't teach us. Over 60% of American troops in WW2 were drafted into the military! I think they are all absolutely heroes but it seems that almost every single American history book ive ever read doesn't really tell you that over half the American soldiers were forced into war.
Hacksaw Ridge and Saving Private Ryan are definitely exaggerated as well as a Hollywood movie type of way. Yes they might be a bit more grounded than Fury, but they're definitely not as realistic as the real stories happened. Also, in war, there's no place to run or evacuate, so it's understandable for people to stay in their own homes and just accept it. Rob has a point in some, but he's not understanding that there's also a correct point counter to his.

Unfortunately he often comes across like a pouty tween to me 😅 you know, disagreeing for the sole purpose of disagreeing, at times almost seemingly overly rude or critical over thing that he very clearly has zero knowledge about but argues or defends even after proven wrong, never apologizes or admits mistakes make type shit? I mean like seriously tho…there are a few times over the dozens of you guys reactions I’ve seen where I started to feel as if it is all some skit or caricature like that? if so it’s a damn good one cause as irritating as It occasionally is, there are still a few moments where he’s legitimately funny and obviously y’all are all friends and so I must assume that outside of reactions he’s a alright perhaps somewhat douchey dude I guess 🤷♀️😬😅
HOLY SHIT I’m Sorry (not sorry) ish for that ridiculously long rambling comment that I typed over the course of an hour but kept getting distracted 🤦♀️🤷♀️😅 oh well, too late I’m definitely not gonna redo that so hopefully it’s at least somewhat comprehendible 🤞😂
